In this role, you will be a critical player in providing senior management with pivotal financial insights that influence business decisions across our growing company. Responsibilities
• Lead the annual budgeting and quarterly financial re-forecasting process for a variety of product areas
• Become a thought partner to senior management and help them evaluate strategic business decisions
• Own creation of excel financial models which reflect short and long term business plans
• Compile monthly financial variance reports, research key variance drivers from budget, and clearly communicate areas of risk and opportunity to department owners
• Compile financial information for quarterly board presentations
• Partner with the accounting team on the monthly close process and preparation of GAAP financial statements
• Identify process improvements, drive efficiencies, and automate forecasting and reporting capabilities

Qualifications
• Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or Similar (MBA or Similar Preferred)
• 2-4+ years of corporate experience in an FP&A department or similar finance role
• Strong knowledge of creating and maintaining financial models
• Experience with Workday Adaptive, NetSuite, or similar financial software preferred
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required
• Strong organizational and time management skills

GovExec Events seeks a highly motivated, entrepreneurial, and service-minded Associate Director of Content to join our team and contribute to the growth, development, and production of a wide range of events and programs focused on federal government, defense and custom content.

The Associate Director of Content will join the growing GovExec Events team to play a key role in overseeing the development and execution of editorial and custom event creation and programming.

Candidates must be based in Washington, DC, Maryland or Virginia.

Responsibilities Include
• Oversee federal, military and custom content programs and strategy
• Work with editorial team members, sponsors, event team, sales team and sponsor marketing team to manage event expectations and turn new ideas into reality
• Manage multiple direct reports, including potential to manage other managers
• Work closely with direct reports to provide training, set priorities, gauge bandwidth, establish long-term goals, and work through problems related to direct reports and assist with the same for their direct reports
• Lead the hiring, interview and training process for new employees
• Work with the Senior Director of Event Content to set priorities across the content team
• Scope out content direction, draft event descriptions and recruit speakers for large custom content and editorial programs
• Support pre-event moderator and speaker prep via research and scheduling
• Creation of sales materials around new and existing product types
• Manage additional projects related to content team growth, staffing and strategy

Qualifications
• 6-8 years of experience in a similar role
• Interest in public sector media space
• Strong writing, editing, and research skills
• Experience managing direct reports and assessing team bandwidth
• Ability to manage complex and fast-changing program elements and prioritize effectively in response
• Experience with client management and expectation setting
• Persuasive communication skills and self-possession in presentation
• Attention to detail in all areas of event execution
• Ability to forge strong relationships with speaker teams

• An understanding of social media advertising across major platforms (LinkedIn, Facebook, and Twitter)
• Familiarity with website analytics (mostly in Google Analytics)
