Responsibilities
• Lead the annual budgeting and quarterly financial re-forecasting process for a variety of product areas

• Compile monthly financial variance reports, research key variance drivers from budget, and clearly communicate areas of risk and opportunity to department owners
• Compile financial information for quarterly board presentations

• Identify process improvements, drive efficiencies, and automate forecasting and reporting capabilities

Qualifications
• Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or Similar (MBA or Similar Preferred)
• 2-4+ years of corporate experience in an FP&A department or similar finance role
• Strong knowledge of creating and maintaining financial models
• Experience with Workday Adaptive, NetSuite, or similar financial software preferred

This is a Hybrid-Remote position. While mostly remote, sometimes in-person support is necessary in our Washington D.C. office. The staffer should expect to spend 2-3 days a month in the office (or more if they choose).

• Serve as the first point of contact for internal staff seeking technical assistance.

Technology Stack

We are constantly building and supporting several Django projects. The largest is our CMS and the websites it supports with MySQL as the database backend. Our Audience database for managing email newsletters and other tools is backed by a PostgreSQL database. Our events platform is scaling this year to take on a lot more traffic. The teams also work with and support other business units.

Our hosting is through Azure. The CMS and audience database are hosted on Linux virtual machines. We use NGINX for load balancing and for serving static files and uWSGI for the Django applications themselves. Moving forward, we are using Docker with Azure’s App Services to host the applications. We are migrating the older applications to this approach and migrating to using GitHub Actions for all automated deployments, unit tests, and linting.

GovExec is looking for a help desk technician to provide advanced technical assistance to our staff on technology issues.

This is a Hybrid-Remote position. While mostly remote, sometimes in-person support is necessary in our Washington D.C. office. The staffer should expect to spend 2-3 days a month in the office (or more if they choose). Responsibilities
• Serve as the first point of contact for internal staff seeking technical assistance.
• Perform remote troubleshooting through remote control software. diagnostic techniques and pertinent questions.
• Escalate unresolved issues to the next level of support personnel.
• Provide accurate information on IT services.
• Respond to events / problems and record their resolution in helpdesk ticketing software.
• Follow-up and update customer status and information.
• Pass on any feedback or suggestions by users to the appropriate team.
• Identify and suggest possible improvements on procedures.
• Configure user workstations and laptops.
Qualifications
• Proven experience as a help desk technician or other IT customer support role.
• Experience with Windows and MacOS operating systems.
• Familiarity with Linux operating system.
• Experience with iOS and Android mobile operating systems.
• Good understanding of computer systems, mobile devices and other tech products.
• Curiosity and a willingness to search for solutions to problems that you don’t know how to solve.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Customer-oriented.

Qualifications
