SUMMARY
The IT Customer Support Computer Technician provides the “voice of the customer” for the Information Technologies department and is the front-line point of contact for all staff and student related technology concerns and issues.

The IT Support Desk Technician's role is to provide a single point of contact for end users to receive support and maintenance within the College's desktop computing environment.

This position is part of a team, focused on providing exceptional service that exceeds user expectations. The proper candidate is a motivated self-starter with strong interpersonal skills, a desire to learn and expand technical proficiencies, and the ability to work within a collaborative, team-oriented environment.

Essential Job Functions
• Provide first-line technical support to GRCC's students, faculty and staff via phone, chat, email, and face-to-face contact.
• Resolve or triage incoming tickets from students, staff and faculty concerning campus technology.
• Learn appropriate software, hardware, and cloud-based applications used and supported by the college and remain current on procedural changes.
• Support college enterprise applications such as campus email, PeopleSoft, Blackboard, Office applications and other applications used by GRCC.
• Collaborates with all IT staff to resolve customer and system issues.
• Troubleshoot and document software, hardware, and network service requests and issues.
• Troubleshoot and provide service to laptops and desktops, both remotely and onsite.
• Develop technical support documentation for Customer Support Knowledgebase.
• Review Customer Support Knowledgebase articles as a part of the KCS review cycle.
• Support Continual Service Improvement process by testing and providing feedback for new services.
• Provision guest wireless connections to campus events.
• Provide initial and follow-up support for college printers, peripherals and accessories.
• Follow through with end users to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Be available to other unit team members, especially student workers for guidance and assistance.
• Maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA, FERPA, GRCC policies, and related standards.
• Continually advance personal skill sets through college course work, research, and other educational opportunities.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS

Education/License
• Minimum Associates Degree preferred, with concentration in computer applications/networking or equivalent experience.

Work Experience
• At least 1 year (preferred) customer service background with technology emphasis.

Summary

The Student Navigator will serve as a resource and mentor for students enrolled in the Middle College programs through GRCC as part of a 13th year high school cohort model. This position requires active support and guidance for students as they transition into a collegiate environment. The Student Navigator will encourage and develop a college readiness skillset to improve success and retention. The Navigator will maintain regular contact with students and serve as a liaison between faculty and administration at the high school and the Academic Outreach team.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
• Provide onsite support for Middle College Students at the High School location
• Mentor middle college students to support student retention and completion rates
• Input and report student data, providing weekly reports to Academic Outreach team
• Address student needs or challenges in response to early alert reports
• Upon request, develop strategies that support students who demonstrate at risk behaviors
• Assist in connecting students to college resources for academic and service support
• Maintain appropriate documentation and notes of student interactions, referrals, and resources
• Monitor and track student program success

SUMMARY

The Executive Director of the Lakeshore Campus is responsible for leading the operations of GRCC's Lakeshore Campus, and working with the Provost and Deans to support programs and courses at the Lakeshore Campus. Education/License

Work Experience
• Five years of industry experience as an executive pastry/baking chef or bakery chef/manager required.

Summary

SUMMARY

Manage all aspects of the State of Michigan Futures for Frontliners and Reconnect financial aid programs and the Grand Rapids Promise Zone Program. Responsible for using rosters and systems to identify potential students and develop communication strategies, in cooperation with the Promise Zone Director at GRCC and with the Executive Director of Financial Aid. Serve as a point of contact for students with financial aid questions for these aid programs. Manage and conduct the process for confirming student eligibility and calculating awards. Maintain regular reports for the college and assist with regular reports to the State of Michigan.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
• Implement the process for regular download of program rosters from the State of Michigan on a weekly basis (or more frequently as needed). Ensure that student records are updated appropriately.
• Ensure the use of the GRCC data system to appropriately identify and track students based on their eligibility for the aid programs.
• Function as a contact point for student inquiries, including responding to student questions via the Frontliners and Reconnect phone number and email addresses, maintaining the information on the GRCC website, and providing regular updates to other GRCC staff members.
• Serve as one of the liaisons between GRCC and the Reconnect Navigator from the State of Michigan.
• In cooperation with other GRCC departments, develop promotional communication to students who are eligible for Futures for Frontliners or Reconnect.
• In cooperation with other GRCC departments, develop and implement communication for students who are in various stages of determining their eligibility for the aid programs. This includes but is not limited to providing general presentations, contacting students who need to complete their FAFSA, and informing students as to their status throughout the enrollment and awarding process.
• Develop and implement tracking processes within the GRCC data system to comply with State tracking requirements for continued student eligibility including completion of requisite number of credits and maintaining a minimum GPA.
• Maintain an expert knowledge of the Grand Rapids Promise Zone program and State of Michigan financial aid programs, especially Futures for Frontliners and Reconnect.
• Ensure that all updates from the State of Michigan and Promise Zone Director are communicated to appropriate members of the GRCC community so as to ensure students have updated information and that GRCC maintains its compliance with State guidelines.
• Calculate and monitor student awards, including adjusting awards within Promise Zone, State, and Federal guidelines when a student enrolls, withdraws, or has a change in other aid that affects the amount of a student's award.
• Work in cooperation with members of the Financial Aid Office, the Promise Zone Director, and with other GRCC departments to implement improvements as appropriate to the Promise Zone, Futures for Frontliners and Reconnect processes.
• In cooperation with the Executive Director of Financial Aid and Promise Zone Director, establish and implement regular reports to the GRCC community and submit reports as needed to the State of Michigan.
• In cooperation with the Associate Director of Financial Aid Operations, prepare approval and submission to ensure the timely and accurate submission of payment rosters to the State of Michigan and updating payment information for students on the State's Mi-SSG system.
• Provide ongoing communication to students so as to remind them of the requirements for maintaining eligibility for the programs.

SUMMARY

Position oversees and manages college energy initiatives. Provides project management for sustainable initiatives, including HVACR, mechanical, utility, renovations and other capital projects. Operates and sustains the energy management software, the pursuit of rebates and incentives, and updates the facilities department web page, and other duties as assigned.

Essential Job Functions
• Serve as a primary point of contact with energy and equipment providers (Trane, Vicinity, Consumers Energy, DTE, MISEC, etc.) to ensure reliability. Solicit proposals for repairs, projects, maintenance, etc. and manage outcomes so issues are addressed in a timely manner.
• Research manufacturers, suppliers and equipment during project design and implementation phases to assure compatibility with current and future systems.
• Review, assess and validate the efficiency and effectiveness of proposed HVACR equipment and management software systems pertaining to energy management, improvement projects, renovations and replacements.
• Oversee, incorporate and validate building automation systems for all HVACR/sustainable projects, renovations and major equipment replacements.
• Monitor all facilities coupled with the energy management system (EMS) and establish direction for system adjustments to the HVACR technicians and electricians, to ensure buildings function efficiently and reliably, and college requirements are complied with, while assuring occupant thermal comfort
• Validate, coordinate, and implement building occupied/unoccupied system run schedules, with HVAC technicians and operations leaders.
• Note deviations from normal building operation system settings and provide appropriate information for the dispatch of staff for resolution.
• Conduct audits to identify energy conservation measures.
• Record and log utility billings, rates, consumptions and costs.
• Prepare applications for rebates, incentives and grants relating to energy conservation measures and projects.
• Review and implement utility system modifications with maintenance technicians.
• Prepare training materials and instruct staff and faculty on proper HVACR system settings and use.
• Provide independent management and supervision to college facility bond/capital outlay projects, new construction, renovations and internal facility projects ranging from $1,000 to exceeding $1,000,000, particularly those with major infrastructure improvements with trades staff involvement and input
• Develop proposals for implementation of existing utility system improvements. Proposals will include cost estimates, overall scope, and a projected work schedule. Manage project budgets to ensure accuracy and integrity for all projects
• Analyze buildings and operational status to determine the optimum utilization of HVACR, electrical and lighting. Provide feedback to technicians and facilities management.
• Promote participation of faculty, staff and students in energy conservation.
• Manage utility data to ensure correctness, analyzing costs, and usage.
• Promote stewardship and resiliency towards the optimization of campus infrastructure
• Risk analysis and mitigation of college infrastructure
• Regular attendance during normal scheduled hours is required. Being present is essential for serving customers and performing the essential functions of this position.

Marginal Job Functions
• Coordinate with manufacturers, vendors, contractors and suppliers in procuring building closeout and equipment data for building information archives, utilizing BetterGIS.
• Provide input and assistance to architecture/engineering firms and technicians in their formulation and preparation of contract documents related to mechanical and electrical systems improvements.
• Attend commissioning and start-up meetings. Collaborate with engineering firms, technicians, and relevant parties to ensure that systems and equipment are working properly per design. Inspect and review modifications and renovations to ensure that energy efficiency is optimized.
• Conduct and provide weekly facility environmental assessments through physical validation of building mechanical and electrical systems throughout the campus.
• Provide monthly assessments on energy use and cost.
• Develop and maintain quarterly and annual energy cost projections for budget purposes.
• Prepare studies and reports identifying where improvements are required within HVACR, gas, water and electrical systems.
