IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL:

The Materials and Exhibits Coordinator role is part creation/construction and part visitor engagement. The position is responsible for the consistent and even flow of materials used in Kaleidoscope’s studio; for fabricating, installing, and maintaining exhibit components in both Kaleidoscope and the HVC; and for actively engaging with guests and ensuring positive visitor experiences. Work is performed both back-of-house in warehouse and shop environments and front-of-house in public exhibit and reception spaces.

This is a full-time position with a regular work schedule of Tuesday – Saturday. The work hours are Tuesday - Friday, 8:30am - 5:00pm, and Saturday 8:00am - 4:30pm. This job is performed on-site and in-person at Hallmark’s Crown Center in downtown Kansas City.

Materials Management:

Efficiently handle, inventory, and distribute Kaleidoscope materials. This includes receiving materials from the shipping dock and directing them appropriately to the Kaleidoscope warehouse, the Kaleidoscope studio, the paper cutter, the die-cut press, recycle, discard or to another agency.

Safe and efficient operation of the industrial paper cutter and die-cut press, including executing the make-ready process and satisfying all quality control oversight of the machines.

Manage storage and maintain inventory of materials; order supplies as needed.

Exhibit Construction and Maintenance:

Participate in the planning, production, and installation of exhibit pieces and building projects, including fixtures, furniture, and other functional or design elements.

Execute a weekly task list to repair, maintain, and enhance exhibits. These activities include general upkeep of exhibit components as well as maintenance and repairs to electronic and mechanical devices.

Use hand tools, power tools, and fabricating equipment.

For both of the above Materials and Exhibit Work:

Follow safety procedures and attend safety trainings to ensure correct operation of multiple machines and tools, including the die-cut press, the industrial paper cutter, ladders, the power walkie, high loader, and various shop equipment.

Perform preventative maintenance and make adjustments/corrections on equipment to ensure accuracy and quality; alert necessary personnel when equipment needs service.

Maintain clean and orderly work areas: warehouse, storage, fabrication shop, studio.

Visitor Service and Guest Interactions:

Demonstrate outstanding skill in all guest interactions with ultimate regard for Hallmark’s high standard of ethics and caring. Interact with visitors and act as a facilitator for program activities when in the Kaleidoscope studio.

Greet guests, scan reservation tickets, and handle other visitor-service related tasks when working at Kaleidoscope’s front desk. Assist with studio set-up and clean-up before and after art-making sessions. Perform other visitor service-related tasks as needed, including greeting and welcoming visitors, overseeing set-up for special events and receptions, hosting groups, and assisting with outreach.

Teamwork:

Kaleidoscope and HVC employee job responsibilities are inter-related and the two sites function as a collaborative team in many aspects, including day-to-day operations, long range planning, exhibit development, new program research and implementation, and maintenance. SUMMARY:

This position is responsible for providing sales and analytical support to the Direct Response sales team for Hallmark Media: Hallmark Channel, Hallmark Movies & Mysteries, and Hallmark Drama.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Monitor and manage inventory on a daily and weekly basis for all networks
• Provide internal analysis and reporting as it relates to inventory and sell-out levels by working closely with Pricing & Planning, Traffic and the operating system to help maximize revenue
• Notify DR sales team and advertisers of current inventory marketplace with suggested rate changes and/or alternative solutions to help with the stewardship of accounts and enhance revenue
• Manage booking and maintenance of high profile, secured deals by tracking inventory reports and working with Pricing & Planning
• Maintain master report of Added Value elements and confirm execution
• Gather and provide audience research, network information, and any specific marketing materials to assist Account Executives in closing sales
• Support Sales Assistants in maintenance of workflow, and provide back-up to other team members as needed

Qualifications

BASIC REQUIREMENTS:
• Must have undergraduate degree in a related field
• Must have a minimum of 1-2 years of industry-related experience
• Prior PC experience using Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
• Knowledge of Wide Orbit a plus
