:
This is a working supervisory custodial position. Under the general supervision of the Custodial Services Manager or Assistant Manager, an employee in this class will supervise custodians in any location where he/she is assigned. Assignments may be made on the elementary, middle, high school or special building level on the day shift.
Essential Job Functions
:
• Coordinates and directs all aspects of routine building and grounds maintenance including general cleaning, snow removal, and lawn mowing
• Performs inspections to ensure building security and cleanliness of the building
• Ensures custodial staff is trained to secure building and equipment operation
• Cleans buildings by sweeping, dusting, mopping, scrubbing, sealing, vacuuming, buffing, and/or washing surfaces, etc.
• Performs ground maintenance by mowing, watering, sweeping, and weeding

Under the direction of the IT Network and Server Manager, the Network Engineer position will be responsible for the data network and all network equipment that supports the school system. This equipment encompasses 80 sites and multiple data centers, and includes firewalls, routers, switches, and wireless. Under the direction of the IT Network and Server Manager, the Network Engineer position will be responsible for the data network and all network equipment that supports the school system. This equipment encompasses 80 sites and multiple data centers, and includes firewalls, routers, switches, and wireless. ESSENTIAL POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
• Maintain, install, upgrade, configure firewalls, switches, and wireless.
• Monitor all equipment and respond to alerts and issues and ensure maximum network uptime and performance.
• Fully document all network equipment and maintain this documentation.
• Manage network capacity planning, troubleshooting, and technical tuning of the data network and telecommunication systems to maximize performance.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education:
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited university in information technology, business administration, project management, or related field.
Experience:
• Five (5) years of experience in project management including planning, implementing, and evaluating projects.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• PMP, CSM, CSSBB, CompTIA Project+, PRINCE2, ITIL, or related project management certification.
• Experience in software development, systems integration, process engineering, database management, and/or web technologies.

EMPLOYMENT INFORMATION
This is a 12-month per year position in the Howard County Education Association's Educational Support Professionals (HCEA-ESP) employee unit. The current salary range for this position is on the Technical Central Office and School Based salary scale, Grade 26, $97,438 - $146,827. Salary will be determined by actual relevant experience and in conjunction with salary procedures of the Howard County Public School System. Under the Fair Labor Standards Act, this position is exempt from overtime.
Under the HCPSS Telework Program, this position may be eligible for a hybrid work schedule. Telework schedules will be determined by the department and/or supervisor. Telework during the probationary period will be subject to approval and based on the needs of the department and the school system.
