Position Summary: Nursing Supervisor is a qualified full-time employee appointed by the Board of Directors to direct and supervise professional and auxiliary personnel rendering client care services. They will perform marketing duties and fosters public relations for the company, consults and plans with the administrator regarding staffing needs, and communicates the concept of quality client care to the general community. The Nursing Supervisor will interpret service needs to the Administrator and acts as a client services administrative liaison

Essential Functions:

• Assist with planning, coordination, and evaluation of home health services. Responsible for coordination and liaison with appropriate parent and affiliate departments / committees.
• Consults, plans and works with Administrator in policy formulation and programmatic development and implementation including assessing adequate and appropriate staffing
• Coordinates with Administrator planning activities to develop administrative policies and practices for Home Health.
Duties / Responsibilities:
• Consults with staff, individually or in groups, regarding clients or families, special programs or service programs
• Evaluates the program, services, and field personnel as needed to meet patients’ needs
• Directs the implementation of service goals and objectives, frequencies
• Ensures standards that ensure safe and effective services to clients and families are followed
• Supervises job function and qualifications for each service staff (direct and supervisory)
• Establishes and maintains effective channels of communication
• Keeps program personnel up to date with state of the art clinical information and practices staff development including orientation, in-service education and continuing education
• Maintain policy and procedure manuals and updates procedures and job descriptions as policies and procedures change
• Direct staff in performance of their duties, Adheres to the Americare Mission/Vision, Home Town Hospitality and F.A.M.I.L.Y. Values, Employee Culture Statement and Company Policy and Procedures
• Ensures patient frequencies are met as ordered/per care plan; recertifications are completed in a timely manner, etc.
• Will create the nursing schedule weekly; on call schedule monthly; Will direct case conference weekly; will ensure weekly updates are completed prior to conference
• Will make patient visits as needed/will take turn in the on call rotation
• Completes other duties as assigned
Qualifications/ Education/Experience/Skills

Education:
• Must be a License Practical Nurse or a Registered Nurse
• Home Health experience preferred
• Must have at least one year of supervisory or administrative experience in home health care or related health programs
• Must meet initial and ongoing educational requirements as stipulated by the State.
Licenses/Certifications:
• Current state nursing license (LPN/RN)
• Must meet initial and ongoing educational requirements as stipulated by the State.
• Meet education criteria required by state to update license. Ongoing education to update license and keep abreast of industry changes.
The Successful Candidate Will

The Center for Community Health, opening January 2021 in the heart of Park Slope at our NewYork-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital, will set a new bar in personalized outpatient care -- from diagnosis to treatment -- by integrating new technologies and innovative clinical approaches to provide the highest quality care and enhance the patient experience.

This 400,000 –square foot, multi-specialty ambulatory center encompasses a Comprehensive Cancer and Women’s Health Center, 12 ambulatory surgery operating rooms and Multispecialty physician practices. Our new state-of-the-art building encompasses three 600 ton chillers, five individual air handling units and Schneider control systems.

Lead Biomedical Technician – Center for Community Health – Day Shift

In this role as a Lead Biomedical Technician, you will perform installations, incoming inspections, repairs, and preventive maintenance of medical equipment. You will perform highly skilled work of considerable difficulty, specialize in certain device groups, but will be called upon as the expert for all devices system-wide. The Lead Biomedical Technician will provide clinical and biomedical staff training on equipment principles of operation and safety. You will also have an opportunity to participate in selection of new equipment. This position requires a significant level of technical expertise. You will work independently and lead a large work-team, with leadership responsibilities under the direction of the Biomedical Engineering Manager. The ideal candidate should bring a significant level of expertise, experience, and training to the job every day.

This is a full time day shift position 9:00am-5:00pm, located at the NewYork-Presbyterian/Brooklyn Methodist Hospital Center for Community Health.

Preferred Criteria:
• BMET Certified by the International Certification Commission (ICC).

Required Criteria:
• Associate’s degree in Biomedical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Information Systems Technology or equivalent experience with minimum of seven years of Biomedical Engineering experience required (Or) a Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Information Systems Technology or equivalent experience with minimum of five years of Biomedical Engineering experience.
• Ability to read equipment electronic, electrical, and mechanical diagrams.
• Expert level knowledge and experience with medical equipment maintenance management systems and biomedical test devices
• Expert level knowledge of equipment cleaning, disinfection and sterilization.
• Proficient in the use of computer hardware and operating systems.
