ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

DESIGN
• Interprets and evaluates client requirements.
• Develops and coordinates detailed design solutions, solving all project functional requirements and meeting the client's project design criteria.
• Demonstrates a complete understanding of the firm's design process, and is able to develop the project's established design strategies within this process.
• Coordinates integration of MEP engineering systems into overall project design.
• Responds to technical implications of design solutions.

TECHNICAL
• Assists with design and technical coordination among disciplines (architecture, interiors, engineering and construction).
• Prepares reports and specifications in accord with the project's interior architectural and FF&E requirements.
• Implements code, accessibility and zoning analyses.
• Performs tasks according to PYR Project Delivery Manual.

MANAGEMENT
• Directs, organizes and mentors staff.
• Mentors junior staff through the work process.

ESSENTIAL JOB REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION
• Professional Degree in Fine Arts, Interior Design, Architecture or related discipline.

EXPERIENCE
• 8-10 years.
• Experience in all phases of a project including programming and planning.
• Strong competency in interior design specifications, calculations and industry standards, and application of building codes and specifications.
• Strong sketching, graphic and computer skills.
• Experience in Revit required
• Ability to direct and coordinate work efforts of project staff.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Collaborative and professional work ethic.
• US NATIONALS EMPLOYED BY PYR CHICAGO
• LEED AP or within 6 months of hire.
• NCIDQ or NCARB Required.

Role Description -

Our highly creative studio located in the convenient Forest Park suburb of Chicago has an opening for a creative mid-to-senior level Interior Designer for our Hospitality focused design firm. Experience in hospitality (Hotels) and multi-unit residential design is required and rendering skills a bonus. You’ll enjoy our exciting national projects and casual atmosphere. As a Hospitality Interior Designer at STANTON Interior Concepts you will be an integral part of our small team using your Branded Hotel design experience in collaborating on the conceptual and schematic design processes and seeing projects through the duration of construction. The ideal candidate will thrive in a small firm setting. You’re highly creative, have strong Revit skills, knowledge of drawing sets, detail oriented, and aren't afraid to think outside the box. 4 to 6 years of relevant hospitality design experience preferred.

Position Summary -

You will be responsible for collaborating on the design of complex Interior design projects, both new construction and renovation, mostly in the hospitality and multi-unit residential sectors (hotels, high-rises, and clubhouse communities). Site measurements and existing conditions documentation, graphic presentations including formatting and 3D renderings, and development of drawings files for highly creative design projects. You’ll develop and manage interior design drawing documents from concept through construction drawings. REVIT proficiency is a must. You will work collaboratively with Stanton team members, clients, contractors, vendors and others to produce and coordinate design construction documents. You’ll report directly to the Studio Director of the firm.

The Successful Candidate Will -
• Have a positive attitude and is self-motivated.
• Have a keen interest in research, always being aware of new and wonderful design and trends.
• Have an 'eyes wide open' process, who soaks up all the beauty and functionality in design that you see regularly.
• Possess excellent written and oral communication skills required.
• High-level Revit experience and other industry specific program skills.
• Current knowledge of materials, (FFE) fixtures, furniture, and equipment.
• Understand the hotel "Brand" process of prototypes and how to elaborate on them.
• Have good knowledge of the building trade and construction.
• Have the ability to work both independently and effectively in a cross-disciplinary team atmosphere.
• Have strong creative design and drawing skills, graphic and oral design presentation skills, capacity for conceptual design thinking, and 3D design/modeling ability is a plus.
• Design Project Management skills.

Required Qualifications -
• Hotel design experience required, as lead designer or project design team
• Bachelor's Degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture
• Proficiency with Revit is required, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office/Teams.
• The ability to design and assemble documents (schematic plans through construction documents)
• The ability to travel occasionally to support project tasks

Preferred Qualifications -
• LEED accreditation is a plus, but not required.
• Experience with multi-unit residential, commercial, and hospitality projects.
• Proficiency with 3D software and Renderings a plus.
• Efficiency and multi-project documentation management is essential.
• A proven track record of ultra-creative results is most desirable.

Compensation -
• Competitive Salary (70k+ depending on experience, + Bonus Potential)
