Duties and Responsibilities

• Filter and synthesize privacy news and occasionally write brief news summaries for e-newsletters.

Education and/or Experience
• Bachelor of Arts degree or equivalent from a four-year college or technical school; and at least three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Serve as the voice of the iapp.org user and primary point of contact for the Digital Product Strategy department on a variety of website modernization projects and updates.
• Engage directly with editorial, research, and virtual content teams to optimize and operationalize a Content Product strategy; continue to optimize the member value and revenue opportunities of the IAPP’s vast content offerings spanning modalities and web, email, and social channels.
• Glean strategic insights from a variety of data sources such as product sales and web and email analytics to deliver on digital initiative and content product KPIs.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams across technology, data, marketing, business process, content production, and other key areas of the business as well as with third-party vendors on all digital strategy initiatives.
• Stay on the pulse of trends in digital strategy, supporting technologies, and digital media business models to align customer needs with organizational opportunities.
• In partnership with Marketing, employ email marketing best practices and strategy to revamp flagship email products and customer touchpoints, including our email newsletters and recurring membership sends.
• Help grow the team, including direct management of future hires within the Digital Product Strategy department.

Education and/or Experience
• Bachelor's degree (B.A./B.S.) from four-year college or university and a minimum of 4-6 years related experience in marketing communications, website strategy and design, content production, and/or other relevant experience.
• Experience and comfort working with a variety of marketing technologies, such as CMSs, email service providers, marketing automation systems, social channels, Google Analytics, etc.
• Proven track record engaging with analytics and data from the above platforms to glean strategic insights to improve the user experience and maximize organizational opportunities.
• A strong understanding of the role of data and data architecture in building and optimizing customer-facing digital experiences.
• An ability to succinctly summarize how websites work.
• Experience and comfort working and collaborating with technology, data, and creative production teams.
• Experience building and executing on content strategies across channels and modalities, preferably including e-newsletters, video, and live streaming preferred.
• Understanding of UX best practices and experience with user research a plus.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office suite.
