Works closely with the IT Portfolio Manager to ensure that the portfolio is always updated and that the right projects are implemented at the right time with the right resources.
Supervise the PPMO staff

Oversee the implementation of large, complex, high-cost and high-risk IT projects and programs

JOB DESCRIPTION

The NYC Campaign Finance Board (CFB), a nonpartisan, independent city agency that enhances the role of New York City residents in elections, seeks a high performing, committed individual to serve as the First Deputy Executive Director. As a crucial member of the CFB team the First Deputy Executive Director will directly impact the agency's mission.

The successful candidate will report directly to the Executive Director (ED) and will have specific expertise and knowledge around campaign finance programs and small dollar matching programs and voting and elections. The successful candidate will work with the ED and those in CFB leadership to design, plan, and implement strategic initiatives for the mission and vision for the CFB. The First Deputy Executive Director will, in consultation with the ED, be responsible for the management, development, and strategic growth of CFB in accordance with the Strategic Plan.

The First Deputy Executive Director role is to maintain a high-level agency-wide perspective while simultaneously implementing the mission and vision of CFB and moving the organization forward under the Strategic Plan. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Planning, directing, supervising, and coordinating the activities of the divisions of the CFB in alignment with the mission and vision of the organization and to move the divisions of CFB forward under the Strategic Plan;
• Evaluating and recommending policy and procedural changes in alignment with the Strategic Plan and the vision and mission of the organization for the improvement of services provided by the divisions of the CFB;
• Advising and assisting the ED in the formulation of policies, plans, and programs in alignment with the Strategic Plan and the mission and vision of the CFB;
• Overseeing and consulting with the ED and other managerial staff, as necessary, regarding administrative functions such as budgeting, financial processing and oversight, personnel administration, contract administration, information management, space planning, etc.

PREFERRED SKILLS
• Fifteen years of satisfactory, full-time progressively responsible administrative experience requiring independent decision-making concerning program management or planning, allocation of resources and the scheduling and assignment of work, ten years of which must have been in a supervisory, administrative, managerial or executive capacity and with five of those ten years of satisfactory full-time experience in accounting, auditing (including compliance or investigative auditing), business, law, or public administration, business analysis, computer science, economics, finance, fiscal or economic management or research, statistics, or a closely related field; Experience in government (New York City government a plus).
• Willingness to run in the background of the ED to support and facilitate the ED's vision while ensuring the ED's needs, and any issues present are addressed quickly.
• Experience with administering or knowledge of campaign finance programs and small dollar matching program(s).
• Experience with or knowledge of voting and elections law.
• Flexibility, patience, a thick skin, and ability to maintain a positive outlook, and doggedly make progress, regardless of the frustrations.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
• A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or its educational equivalent and two years of satisfactory, full-time progressively responsible administrative experience requiring independent decision-making concerning program management or planning, allocation of resources and the scheduling and assignment of work, 18 months of which must have been in a supervisory, administrative, managerial, or executive capacity; or
• Education and/or experience which is equivalent to "1" above. However, all candidates must possess the 18 months of supervisory, administrative, managerial, or executive experience as described above. Education may be substituted for the general clerical-administrative experience (but not for the supervisory, administrative, managerial, or executive experience described in "1" above) at a rate of 2 years of graduate study substituting for 2 years of experience.

The Associate Dean for Marketing and Communications leads the strategy and execution for branding, lead generation and student recruitment, and strategic marketing and communications for UNC Kenan-Flagler Business School. This position is responsible for increasing awareness of the UNC Kenan-Flagler brand and communicating its value to a diverse set of targeted audiences, including prospective students, alumni and other business leaders (including corporate clients and employers), donors, media and other external audiences to support the Business School’s mission and strategic goals. This position is responsible for developing marketing and communication strategies in collaboration with the various programs and units in the Business School.The successful candidate will work with school leadership to set marketing and communication strategies and priorities. They will be responsible for building relationships with internal stakeholders in order to facilitate the work of the marketing and communication group.The successful candidate will effectively develop and execute strategies in three key areas: 1. brand strategy and management2. lead generation and recruitment3. strategic marketing and communicationThey will also measure and evaluate the performance of each of these three areas and report outcomes to internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

Position provides administrative support for the Department of Biomedical Sciences, including, but not limited to: coordinating meetings, sending invitations and announcements for departmental events, renewal of faculty memberships, and assisting with faculty schedules. Serves as a travel representative for the department. Processes and submits all travel authorizations, gathers documentation, and submits travel reimbursements. Makes all necessary travel arrangements to include hotel, flights, car rentals, etc. for faculty and staff for the department in accordance with the Florida State University policies and procedures ensuring travel arrangements and reimbursements are processed in a timely manner. Ensures proper signature, filing, and distribution of all travel documents.

Provides direct assistance to Scientific Research Specialist in the processing of all purchase orders ensuring all documents are prepared, distributed, and processed by deadlines. Responsible for preparing, compiling, and maintaining accurate records used to track purchasing activity. Responsible for procurement of office supplies, tracking delivery of items, submission of documentation for payment and delivery, which requires position incumbent to be able to move items up to 25 pounds. Ensures proper signature, filing, and distribution of purchasing documents. Responsible for departmental p-card assuring each purchase is in compliance with rules regarding P-card usage. Assists with the departmental budget and record-keeping process, to include: preparing, compiling, and maintaining foundation expenditures, startup funds, grant expenditures and other budgetary information for the department. Alerts Scientific Research Specialist of any trends or concerns that become apparent from the record-keeping process. Ensures accuracy of purchasing and travel documentation. Assists Program Manager and Scientific Research Specialist with annual budgeting process by compiling requests, generating expenditure reports and providing input for future recommendations.

Compiles and distributes departmental newsletter, seminar notices, and other departmental publications. Works closely with COM Public Affairs and Communications to announce departmental awards, faculty publications, and grants.

Promotes an atmosphere of teamwork in accomplishing the mission and goals of the department to include participating in the delivery of administrative support services for special projects in meeting key departmental deadlines. Preforms other related duties as required to assure the efficient operation of the office, including but not limited to: providing back-up assistance to support staff in the department in their absence or during peak work times, assisting with event set-up and break down, and running occasional errands such as providing transportation for even speakers on behalf of the College, requiring the operation of a motor vehicle. May require work outside of standard business hours (M-F 8am-5pm).

Qualifications: High school diploma/equivalency and four years of experience. (Post-high school education can substitute for experience at the equivalent rate.)
• Experience in demonstrating effective customer service skills.
• Experience in communicating effectively verbally and in writing.
• Experience in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships.
• Experience in performing accurately in a detail-oriented environment.
