Indiana University Department of Theatre, Drama, and Contemporary Dance is seeking a highly organized and technically proficient Assistant Technical Director - Scenic Studio Supervisor for a full-time, 12-month position. Requires excellent technical and problem-solving skills to contribute to the teaching and training of undergraduate and graduate students within the Technical Direction and Scenic Design programs as established by the faculty program heads. Additionally, under the supervision of the faculty technical director, coordinates technical and production details as required for all productions. Position Duties and Responsibilities Include:
1. Manage, train, and mentor students in a hands-on work environment during afternoon shop hours
2. Provide rough and finish carpentry guidance/training to students during the construction of scenic elements for productions
3. Day-to-day supervision/training of MFA candidates in scenic technology and scenic design as well as any undergraduates in BA and BFA (non-technology/design) degrees hired as employees within the production environment
4. Serve as a primary point person for graduate and undergraduate students during the making and execution of theatre, dance, and musical theatre productions
5. Adherence to all occupational health and safety standards
6. Cultivate a production environment of trust by upholding high standards of communication that models best practices in professionalism
7. Collaborate with faculty to strengthen, through example and supervision, a positive and healthy studio environment
8. Monitoring quality and execution of work completed by graduate and undergraduate students
9. Organization, maintenance, and upkeep of the scenic studio, theatres, tools, and storage locations
10. Maintain budget and procurement of building materials during the builds of the productions
11. Teaching responsibilities of one-class (grad level) per academic year as determined by the scenic technology program head

Job Summary

IU Dining Stores Representatives are a key part of the production process as they receive shipments of product from vendors, and work with production managers to store product and manage inventory to control food costs.
General Responsibilities
• Receives incoming shipments of goods and materials. Unloads trucks and accepts items based upon quantity, quality and condition. Monitors inventory. Enters data into computerized inventory system. Recognizes items and materials that require special handling or storage requirements and treats with appropriate care (perishable, volatile, toxic, etc.).
• Stores goods in designated areas; rotates stock according to shelf life, expiration dates, lot numbers or other criteria. Gathers goods and materials from inventory locations as specified by pick list or requisition. Secures items on pallet or other container for shipment. Reconciles quantities of collected goods and materials with requisition or pick list; transports to dock and loads truck.
• Unloads and loads trucks manually or by operating a power fork lift, rotates stock and moves other bulky and/or heavy items in warehouse. Performs inventory counts; participates in monitoring facilities and in maintaining building security. May staff a customer service counter and respond to customer requests. May use University vehicle to make deliveries and pick up materials. Performs routine maintenance and makes minor repairs to equipment as necessary.

Working Conditions / Demands

The successful applicant will be expected to teach courses in one or more of the following areas of public financial administration: public economics, public budgeting, accounting, political economy, fiscal sociology, and/or public financial management. Qualifications include PhD or Master's degree in economics, public administration, public affairs, business administration, law, political science, public policy or related field. Applicants possessing a master's degree only must have significant prior professional experience in public budgeting and public financial management.

Lecturer faculty are expected to interact with our diverse student and faculty community, focusing on teaching (including course development and delivery and the incorporation of innovative teaching techniques), as well as on teaching-related service such as student advising and curriculum development. As such, we are especially interested in applicants with a record of successful teaching and mentoring of students from many backgrounds (including first-generation college students, low-income students, racial and ethnic minorities, women, LGBTQ, etc.) and an interest in contributing to O'Neill's programs, curricular offerings, and service portfolio in ways that enhance diversity, equity, and inclusion. The standard teaching assignment for Lecturers is six courses per year offered in a mix of undergraduate- and graduate-level courses. Lecturers are eligible for promotions to higher ranks in this track (Lecturer to Senior Lecturer and Senior lecturer to Teaching Professor). Faculty in these tracks are not eligible for tenure but will be considered for promotion and/or long-term contracts no later than the sixth year of appointment. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience. The position start date is August 1, 2023.

Responsibilities: Tenure track faculty in the Department of Epidemiology
and Biostatistics are expected to substantially contribute to the overall

The duties of the Halls Research Associate will vary, depending on what needs to be done; they will probably include reading manuscripts, rereading problematic texts, writing parts of an introduction, and working with computer assisted searches and typesetting. Comprehensive knowledge of and commitment to research in Medieval Philosophy with a strong background in Ancient and, if possible, Early Modern Philosophy expected.

Applicants will also need to be comfortable working with both medieval paleography and computer based projects. While teaching is not required, the successful candidate may ask to teach up to one course; in such cases, the courses that the successful candidate teaches will be determined in part by, and in consultation with, the Indiana University Department of Philosophy.
