Duties and Responsibilities...

o Making the necessary adjustments to the car according to established procedures for each race and test event by collaborating with managers, chief mechanics, drivers and engineers to meet design specifications and achieve desired results.

o Disassembling, cleaning and non-destructive testing of race car components.

o Ensuring all assigned components of the race car are safely joined, bolted or otherwise secured.

o Modifying manufactured precision parts using manual machinery to exactly fit set-up and design specifications.

o Meeting specified deadlines for race car preparation while producing a quality product.

o Loading the race car on the transporters for safe and on-time transport of vehicle to each venue.

o Maintaining accurate records of changes on all adjustable components of the car during post-race teardown, i.e. recording suspension lengths, pedal positions, tracking serial #’s, etc.

o Openly communicating with team members in manufacturing and engineering departments to develop functional and quality components.

o Providing direction and acting as a mentor to less experienced mechanics to ensure quality control while promoting a positive learning environment.

o Traveling with the team to races and tests to ensure the racecar is properly functioning in preparation for successful on-track performance.

o Safely operating equipment according to recommended safety specifications, including use of all protective equipment necessary (protective eyewear, earplugs, etc) while identifying any safety hazards and reporting all risks immediately to a supervisor.

o Safekeeping and proper use of all company property issued during employment, including uniforms, tools, toolboxes, electronic devices, credit cards and any other productivity tools.

o Professionally represent the team and its sponsors on and off track premises. Treating sponsors and their guests with respect by acknowledging them and appropriately answering their questions during shop, garage and pit tours.

o Participating in the TCGR Workout Program designed to maximize physical strength and endurance to remain competitive at a professional level.

o Keeping work area clean and organized at all times.

o Providing assistance to other team members on other duties as appropriate.

Qualifications

o 3+ years experience as a chassis mechanic on IndyCar, IMSA or F1 series race cars.

o Demonstrate a complete understanding of set-up specifications for race cars and the appropriate safety mechanisms for each component.

o Must meet professional level performance criteria to be a member of the pit crew, measured by physical speed, mechanical speed, and ability to perform maintenance tasks in a minimal amount of time.

o Must be able to interpret and follow set-up designs for individual race and test events.

o High school diploma or equivalent, basic reading, writing and arithmetic skills.

o Intimate knowledge of mechanical components, electronics, and structural framework of race cars.

o Manual experience using one or more of the following: lathe, mill, drill press, band saw.

o Must be proficient in using precision measuring devices.

o Magnaflux & Zyglo non-destructive testing certification required.

o Must be able to concentrate on detailed work for long periods and be able to stand, bend, stoop, and work in awkward positions.

o Must be able to travel to each IndyCar race.

Working Conditions

o Work environment contains hazardous chemicals and fumes. Must be able to demonstrate knowledge of emergency safety procedures and an ability to use safety equipment correctly.

• Load and unload equipment, etc.
• Inventory management for the transporter and equipment.
• Maintain the cleanliness and general presentation of the transporter for the team and guests.
• Follow all applicable DOT, DMV, State and Federal highway safety rules and regulations.
• Meet schedules, timelines and deadlines appropriately and safely.
• Present self in an appropriate/professional manner while transporting and at venues.
• Ensure the truck is in safe operating condition.
• Complete all logs and records in a timely manner; may be responsible for expense reporting to Accounting per company guidelines.

Qualifications:
• Must possess a Class A Commercial Driver License (CDL).
• Must provide or be able to obtain a current Medical Examiner's Safety Certificate.
• Must have a clean driving record and satisfactory background check.
• Must have a professional and presentable work ethic.
• Professional motorsports experience preferred; will consider other driving experience such as car hauler driving.
• Able to lift 75lbs independently.
• Able to maneuver inside tight confinements within the transporter and other areas.
• Able to sustain 10 or more hours consecutive time on feet.
• Must be able to work the complete race and test schedule; weekend work is required.
• Must be able to work in the shop when not driving OTR; no fly-in work available.

Reporting to the Arrow McLaren IndyCar Manager of Systems Engineering in our Indianapolis location, this position encompasses responsibilities described below.

Role Overview:

The DAG/Systems engineer is responsible for maintaining the data acquisition system on the race car and monitoring system reliability.  This includes sensor calibration, data logging, dash configuration, as well as data analysis focused on car vitals.  The DAG/Systems engineer is also responsible for the trackside timing stand and real-time telemetry link with the race car.  Being able to quickly and efficiently troubleshoot problems is a key trait for this role.  This job will include extensive travel to races and tests.

This is a salaried full-time position with a 401(k) retirement plan, medical, dental, and vision benefits. Many of the meals on the road are provided, to include a daily per diem.

Experience:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Computer Engineering, Engineering Technology or equivalent
• Strong computer literacy
• Excellent communication skills
• Attention to detail, organized, and proven experience to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
• Travel requirements include up to 17 race weekends as well as travel for testing over the year
• Motorsport experience, including prior use of a data acquisition system (Pi/Cosworth, AIM, Motec, McLaren, etc.)

Preferred Experience (Not Required):
• Experience with Matlab
• Background with a high level (C++, Python, VBA) or low level (C) programming language
