Recruiter responsibilities include, but are not limited to: - Contributing to a ground-breaking recruiting strategy with the aim of designing and deploying programs... and tools that will innovate and sustain near-term and future hiring initiatives - Sourcing, building and recruiting for advanced/next generation energy candidate pools all while being an industry luminary by attracting diverse and high potential talent - Actively source and network to underrepresented student groups including establishing relationships with diversity recruiting programs to expand the pipeline - Supporting a forward-thinking ideal where hiring transactions, while still supervised and process-driven, evolve to efficient, timely and successful outcomes - The recruiter will serve as a main point of contact with mentors and managers to define needs and requirements on sometimes complex issues, assist in the development of position descriptions, postings, and necessary paperwork. - Recruiter should have ability to evaluate issues and navigate situations using in depth knowledge of recruiting and hiring practice. - The recruiter will represent the laboratory at recruiting events and venues and will create and implement methods for publicizing opportunities such as creation of web announcements and marketing literature, distribution of postings to targeted online venues, and participation at career fairs and conferences. - The specialist exercises judgement in selecting the most appropriate methods and techniques for acquiring results within the internship program. - Knowledge and understanding of State and Federal hiring and employment regulations is preferred. - The recruiter will be responsible for benchmarking other programs in the DOE complex and industry, evaluating success of INL programs through the development of inspections/assessments, and developing strategies for program improvements while maintaining the highest standards and meet all changing requirements. - Will be responsible to manage multiple routine to complex tasks and assignments and may provide mentoring to others. - Expected to help expand collaborations and relationships with customers and universities. - Will be an active instigator and implementer of process improvements and enhance utilization of the best business practices. - Expected to identify and develop solutions to complex problems. - Responsible to identify risk areas and develop solutions. - The specialist will be responsible for reviews, development and improvements to program processes, procedures, acceptance criteria, and other items. - Responsible to conduct recruiting and hiring activities for INL including: work with mentors and management to assess intern, INL Graduate Fellow and Postdoc hiring needs; work with mentors to create position descriptions and postings; with gaining independence to minimal guidance, identify, source and recruit people to meet those needs; provide guidance to mentors and managers on the interviewing, selection and hiring process, provide counsel to mentors and managers regarding internship program and extend offers to selected candidates. - Assist in development of new methods for organizing and implementing the recruiting process at INL, including, but not limited to, prospecting databases, records management, calendaring systems, etc. - May assist in the development of recruiting budget and in the development and generation of reports/metrics to measure effectiveness of recruiting activities, as well as track and maintain data needed for weekly reports, annual updates to Staffing Plans and other laboratory plans, as needed.
