Reporting to the Manager, Student Benefits, we are seeking a Student Benefits Analyst will be responsible for key functions in support of the JHU student benefit plans including problem solving, administration, claims analysis and coordination with various stake holders.

• Resolves complex and confidential claim issues with insurance carriers.
• Provides best in class benefits services in form of phone calls and emails in a professional, cooperative, positive, and helpful style with students, parents, and administrators.
• Answers inquires and provides information regarding enrollments, waivers, qualified life events, and processing procedures to comply with policies.
• Collaborates with Manager to streamline program procedures when necessary.
• Maintains and updates student benefit website and instructional documents.
• Participates in on campus events and webinars such as Flu Clinics, Wellness Fairs, Orientations, and Insurance How Tos in order to share information relating to the Student Health Program.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
• Bachelor's Degree.
• Three years progressively responsible experience in benefits admin.
• Additional education may substitute for experience and additional experience may substitute for education in accordance to the JHU equivalency formula.
Preferred Qualifications
• CEBS certification preferred.
• Minimum 3 years' work experience in employee benefits industry, preferably student benefits.
• Strong benefits operations and customer service background, preferably in a university setting.

General nature or purpose of the position
• The Disabilities Services Administrator is responsible for assuring compliance with ADA/ADAAA/Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act, IDEA, and other applicable Special Education laws and regulations as they relate to students with disabilities who are participating in CTYs academic programs and services for advanced K-12 learners. The Disabilities Services Administrator is responsible for reviewing accommodations requests, conducting the interactive process and determining accommodations. The position also disseminates accommodations plans and troubleshoots and evaluates their implementation, working with leaders and staff of the various CTY programs. Work volume fluctuates significantly over the year, with the highest volume in April, May, and June, in preparation for summer sessions of CTYs online and in-person programs.
Specific Duties & Responsibilities
• Assure compliance with ADA/ADAAA/Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act, IDEA, and other applicable Special Education laws and regulations as they relate to students with disabilities who are participating in CTYs academic programs and services for advanced K-12 learners. The programs and services include,
• Testing, CTY-administered and third-party (Prometric) administered.
• Online programs, with asynchronous and synchronous components.
• In-person day programs.
• In-person residential programs.
• Handle the disability and accommodation review and provision process. Collect and review required documentation to determine functional limitations and diagnosis, conduct the interactive process, and determine accommodations required for any and all aspects of the student's program experience (academic and non-academic), working in consultation with program leaders.
• Disseminate accommodations plans and resources,
• disseminate accommodations plans and resources to in-person program sites one week prior to arrival of students,
• disseminate plans and resources to CTY Online asynchronous and synchronous course supervisors upon parent approval of plans, and
• work with testing/Prometric to ensure accommodations are in place for SCAT/STB testing.
• Use a database (at this time Accommodate by Symplicity) to manage the accommodations process and keep records. Prepare reports on a quarterly or semi-annual basis.
• Develop a strong working knowledge of the similarities and differences among CTY programs and how they compare to other contexts.
• Collaborate with CTY program staff and JHU Office of Institutional Equity (OIE) to create accommodations that best serve students
• Communicate with parents and educators inquiring about CTY program eligibility standards related to disabilities, such as anticipated differences between their present setting and the CTY program, expectations about maturity, self-advocacy, legal changes, academic standards, and CTY and University policies related to their particular accommodation needs and CTY program of interest.
• As needed, communicate with clinicians about the standards, content and interpretation of clinical data regarding students ability to participate in CTY programs and activities.
• As needed, arrange services of interpreters, readers, and other providers, whether through direct hire, engaging independent contractors, or contracting with agencies.
• As needed, coach staff working directly with the students.
• Ensure that the accommodations process actively supports and advances diversity, equity and inclusion.
• Work with CTYs evaluation team to implement appropriate evaluation of CTYs disabilities service.

General nature or purpose of the position
• The Disabilities Services Administrator is responsible for assuring compliance with ADA/ADAAA/Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act, IDEA, and other applicable Special Education laws and regulations as they relate to students with disabilities who are participating in CTYs academic programs and services for advanced K-12 learners. The Disabilities Services Administrator is responsible for reviewing accommodations requests, conducting the interactive process and determining accommodations. The position also disseminates accommodations plans and troubleshoots and evaluates their implementation, working with leaders and staff of the various CTY programs. Work volume fluctuates significantly over the year, with the highest volume in April, May, and June, in preparation for summer sessions of CTYs online and in-person programs.
Specific Duties & Responsibilities
• Assure compliance with ADA/ADAAA/Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act, IDEA, and other applicable Special Education laws and regulations as they relate to students with disabilities who are participating in CTYs academic programs and services for advanced K-12 learners. The programs and services include,
• Testing, CTY-administered and third-party (Prometric) administered.
• Online programs, with asynchronous and synchronous components.
• In-person day programs.
• In-person residential programs.
• Handle the disability and accommodation review and provision process. Collect and review required documentation to determine functional limitations and diagnosis, conduct the interactive process, and determine accommodations required for any and all aspects of the student's program experience (academic and non-academic), working in consultation with program leaders.
• Disseminate accommodations plans and resources,
• disseminate accommodations plans and resources to in-person program sites one week prior to arrival of students,
• disseminate plans and resources to CTY Online asynchronous and synchronous course supervisors upon parent approval of plans, and
• work with testing/Prometric to ensure accommodations are in place for SCAT/STB testing.
• Use a database (at this time Accommodate by Symplicity) to manage the accommodations process and keep records. Prepare reports on a quarterly or semi-annual basis.
• Develop a strong working knowledge of the similarities and differences among CTY programs and how they compare to other contexts.
• Collaborate with CTY program staff and JHU Office of Institutional Equity (OIE) to create accommodations that best serve students
• Communicate with parents and educators inquiring about CTY program eligibility standards related to disabilities, such as anticipated differences between their present setting and the CTY program, expectations about maturity, self-advocacy, legal changes, academic standards, and CTY and University policies related to their particular accommodation needs and CTY program of interest.
• As needed, communicate with clinicians about the standards, content and interpretation of clinical data regarding students ability to participate in CTY programs and activities.
• As needed, arrange services of interpreters, readers, and other providers, whether through direct hire, engaging independent contractors, or contracting with agencies.
• As needed, coach staff working directly with the students.
• Ensure that the accommodations process actively supports and advances diversity, equity and inclusion.
• Work with CTYs evaluation team to implement appropriate evaluation of CTYs disabilities service.

Additional information
• Because of the nature of CTYs programs, experience with online education as well as experience in a residential setting are preferred, and previous experience with CTY programs especially is preferred.
• This is a remote position. Hoteling space at CTYs headquarters may be available for occasional use.
• Applicants must be authorized to work in the US, and must either live in the US or another area in which JHU has a business entity.
• Must be available during some regular business hours to consult with program leaders and staff and with OIE representatives, but otherwise may set their own schedule.
• Work volume fluctuates significantly over the year, with the highest volume in April, May, and June tied to the beginning of the summer sessions of CTYs online and in-person programs. Some weeks could require as few as one or two hours, but during the busy late spring/early summer season, some weeks could require close to full time hours.

The Center for Gun Violence Solutions at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health is seeking a Digital Communications Specialist to join the centers communications team. This position is responsible for leading the creation of thoughtful and engaging digital content, managing projects that amplify the mission and work of the Center, and supporting the Centers communications strategy. This is a full-time, hybrid (2 days a week in the office) post based in Baltimore. This person will report to the Director of Operations and work closely with the Director of Communications.
The Digital Communications Specialist serves an important role within the Center for Gun Violence Solutions. The position provides a high-level of support to the communications team and is primarily responsible for generating and managing cross-platform content (including website, social media, newsletter, and more) for both internal and external communication efforts. This person will also work to grow the Centers various audiences and track engagement. The position will involve project coordination with internal and external collaborators, writing, graphic design, communications analytics, and assisting in overall center functions as needed.
A successful candidate will have experience working in a fast-paced environment, can work independently, and contribute to a team-based environment to advance the goals and messages of the Center for Gun Violence Solutions.
Specific Duties & Responsibilities
• Develop innovative and compelling content for multimedia materials (video, photography, social media posts, web articles, etc.) that support the goals and objectives of the center.
• Manage the day-to-day activities of the website including drafting, posting, and removing outdated content.
• Manage and scale up social media platforms, including creating and posting original content.
• Generate new digital content (including social media graphics, website content, newsletter content, and more) and coordinate with team members and outside collaborators.
• Monitor and report analytics from all communications channels to inform content strategy, including website, social media, newsletter, and other.
• Manage a digital editorial calendar for center-wide communications.
• Manage newsletter content, distribution, and audience lists.
• Provide internal communications support and technical assistance for center team members.
• Ensure all communication projects and marketing efforts comply with the University Branding Guidelines of JHU Use of Name Guidelines.
• Stay abreast of relevant gun policy news, developments, and events.
• Proactively liaise and correspond with project team, contractors, and other related personnel & partners.
• Research opportunities for innovative social marketing.
• Other duties as assigned.
Special Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Experience using web content management systems.
• Experience using CRM email platforms.
• Experience using, translating, and applying Google Analytics.
• Experience with design software/programs (i.e. Canva, Adobe Creative Cloud, iMovie).
Minimum Qualifications
• Bachelor's Degree in related field.
• Two years related experience.
• Advanced degree may substitute for required experience, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience leading/managing projects and ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
• Ability to work well under pressure with demanding and/or shifting deadlines.
• Strong interest in strategic communications, public health, and policy.
• Demonstrated ability to think creatively and critically in problem-solving and project implementation.
• Excellent technical communications skills, both written and verbal, and ability to communicate to a range of audiences.
• Experience with social media and website content generation and management.
• Excellent organization skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to understand and synthesize and distill large amounts of information and generate key messages.
• Experience working on a diverse team.
• Experience working with different communication styles.
