The SRF OPS Chemistry Technician serves in the Cavity Production Chemistry Group and will be responsible for the completion of moderately complex tasks such as preparation of cavities and associated components before assembly, welding, and/or testing. Come and join our team!
In this role you will
• Responsible for the organization and quality of their own work.
• Frequently assigned multiple tasks and accomplishes them simultaneously.
• Plans their own work for short term and intermediate assignments and can coordinate work with others in the group. Work alone or in collaboration with others in a fast-paced, low-volume production or R&D environment.
• Complete tasks of moderate complexity and provide general operations support for all chemistry group processing activities.
• Document work performed using manual and electronic log books. Interpret and analyze data, compile results, prepare reports, and present conclusions.
• Participate in the cleaning of cavity and cryomodule components using ultra high vacuum ultra-sonic cleaning techniques.
• Operate a High-Pressure Rinsing tool in a clean room environment.
• Participate in the cleaning of cryomodule components using ultra high vacuum ultra-sonic cleaning techniques and high pressure rinsing.
• Participate in chemical cleaning and acid etching such as buffered chemical polish (BCP), and electro-polish (EP) treatment activities; hands-on operation of the chemistry facilities.
• Operation of small overhead cranes and automated lifting systems.
• Basic mechanical assembly skills using hand tools.
Qualifications We Require
Education
• High School Graduate*
Experience
• 5 years relevant experience*
• or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• Able to identify schedule conflicts within the group and provide solutions.
• Demonstrates intermediate skills, knowledge and ability in one work station within the Chemistry work center.
• Knowledge of theory, development, and execution of techniques used for UHV cleaning.

What your job will be like
Jefferson Lab's Environmental Safety & Health (ESH) Division is seeking an ES&H Systems Student Intern to identify and analyze and technologies to allow the mapping of safety and health requirements throughout the operational enterprise. You will work independently to conduct the research necessary to understand our S&H requirements, how they are synthesized into our administrative and operational infrastructure, and find solutions for efficient change management of this system. In this role you will
• Assist with research and analysis of technologies to enable the mapping of safety and health requirements through the JSA operational enterprise.
• Work with technical lead to understand S&H requirements under which JSA operates and how those requirements are synthesized into the JSA administrative and operational infrastructure.
• Assist in developing solutions for efficient change management of JSA's S&H requirements system.
• Create and maintain documentation related to design, development, and maintenance of solution.
• Collaborate with other developers, analysts, technical lead/architect, and project manager to gather requirements, design solutions, and ensure successful implementation.
• Provide technical support and troubleshooting for database-related issues.
Qualifications We Require
Education
• Must be a full-time undergraduate student pursuing a Bachelor's degree in relevant field with a GPA of 2.5 or greater.
Experience
• No prior experience necessary
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work under the supervision of a technical lead.
