Position Summary

The HR team at Kellogg Community College is growing! Reporting to the Chief Human Resources Officer, this role will be primarily responsible for managing the College's health and ancillary benefits. The HR Manager will work with the CHRO on annual strategies and bid process, managing day-to-day issues regarding benefit plans, invoice processing and coordinating the benefit advisory team's annual institutional recommendations. This position will provide data analysis and communicate benefit updates and changes to employees. They will also serve as a Title VII, IX, EEO, harassment, and employee relations investigator for the College.

In addition, the HR Manager will leverage and coordinate vendor offerings and internal training resources while also facilitating sessions on professional development. Working with the CHRO and HR Director, they will help develop and manage impactful projects and HR programs that shape our workplace and institutional culture.

Minimum Qualifications
• Associate's degree in human resources, business, or related field, obtained from an accredited college or university AND five or more (5+) years of related experience PLUS industry-specific certification (SHRM, CEBS, HRCI) OR Bachelor's degree AND three or more (3+) years of related experience. At the time of application, attach copy of industry-recognized certification, if applicable.
• Demonstrated supervisory experience.
• Three (3) or more years of demonstrated experience in human resources, employee benefits, employee relations, and/or other related field, with at least one (1+) of those years in benefits administration.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.

Preferred but not Required
• Master's degree or higher in human resources or related field, obtained from an accredited college or university.
• SHRM or equivalent certification.
• Experience with employee investigations.

Proposed Salary

According to the Kellogg Community College Hay Administrative Compensation program, the 2023-2024 annual salary range for a Manager 1 position, $59,060 to $73,826 to start.

Description
• Manage College's heath and ancillary benefits.
• Work with CHRO on annual strategies and bid process:
• Coordinate the employee advisory team.

The KCC police officer assists daily with operations and controls of public safety management at five separate campus locations, employing a blended force of four sworn officers and 12 contract security guards to ensure the safety and security of all students and staff of the College and those of the institutional tenants. They are responsible for enforcing all federal, state, and local laws and ordinances as well as developing, implementing, and enforcing institutional policies and procedures that ensure a safe, secure, and comfortable environment conducive to a quality educational experience. Also, the police officer is responsible for ensuring the timely reporting of all crimes, incidents, and injuries. They coordinate with local law enforcement entities for mutual aid support and exercises. They also serve as the institutional on-scene representative during critical incidents.
