The HR team at Kellogg Community College is growing! Reporting to the Chief Human Resources Officer, this role will be primarily responsible for managing the College's health and ancillary benefits. The HR Manager will work with the CHRO on annual strategies and bid process, managing day-to-day issues regarding benefit plans, invoice processing and coordinating the benefit advisory team's annual institutional recommendations. This position will provide data analysis and communicate benefit updates and changes to employees. They will also serve as a Title VII, IX, EEO, harassment, and employee relations investigator for the College.

• Experience in supervising adults and/or nurse aides in the clinical and/or the educational setting
• A nurse aide trainer candidate must have at least one (1) year of experience in providing skilled nursing care and related services to individuals that require non-hospital residential medical, nursing or rehabilitative services. Long term care facilities may include nursing homes, hospital long term care units, county medical care facilities, homes for the aged, assisted living facilities, hospice and other like provider types
• Currently state-approved to teach the Nurse Aide Program at Kellogg Community College, or continued employment is contingent upon State of Michigan approval to teach at Kellogg Community College

HERE’S A TASTE OF WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
• Strategy & Execution – You will direct and lead purchasing and supply management activities for the wheat and oil portfolios, along with corn, and world sugar categories managed by your direct reports. You will measure and track internal performance within each spend category and monitor strategy implementation and develop team ingredient market analysis capabilities. In this role, you will support the team by building the strategy for Wheat and Oils, ensuring the right sourcing strategy is followed for negotiated savings, supplanted with year-over-year productivity improvements in TCO while maintaining or improving product quality, and supplier service levels.
• Leadership and Budget – You will attract, develop, and retain talent and you will be responsible for the development and delivery of budget and financial targets.
• Focus on Cost Reduction – You will facilitate and lead cross-functional teams with key stakeholders in member organizations and in corporate functions to develop effective cost reduction strategies and implementation plans. In this role, you will champion and secure TCO reductions. You will drive annual productivity improvements in each spend category.
• Supplier Relationship Management – You will oversee the process to select and manage suppliers, measure, and track internal performance within each spend category.
• Sustainability & Responsible Sourcing – You will support the sustainability and responsible sourcing strategy for your categories.
YOUR RECIPE FOR SUCCESS
• Do you have a Bachelor’s or International Equivalent in Business or related field? Great! We will put it to good use in this role.
• You will require extensive experience in Purchasing or Sourcing, and exchange traded commodities. Grains commodoties experience a plus!
• Strong communication skills (spoken and written)
• Strong collaboration and business partnering skills
• How are your analytical and negotiations skills? If they are sharp, you may be perfect for this role!
• Have you managed people in the past? Great! People leadership experience is a must to be successful in this role.
• Do you have world-class supplier relationship skills and advanced sourcing toolkit and supply base management? Great! You will utilize those skills in this role.
