Participants are required to have successfully completed an undergraduate linear algebra course. In addition, participants must be US citizens or US permanent residents, due to a requirement of the NSF.

45% - Determines Academic Standing and Honor Roll Eligibility
Determines academic standing for the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences
• Conducts a detailed review of all College undergraduate students' academic standing and determines correct status, including dismissal, probation, notice, or good standing (~20,000 students per year).
• Communicates to all students to notify them of their current academic standing.
• Provides regular standing report to assistant dean, advisors and other campus partners regarding students' standing.
• Conducts monthly review to identify need for additional standing changes due to grade changes and other actions that impact student standing.
• Uploads academic standing at the end of every semester and after 20th day to capture readmitted students or students changing schools into the College.
• Communicates with the Office of the University Registrar to update standing throughout the year and drop schedules for dismissed students.
• Reviews, determines eligibility, and communicates decision for readmission/admission after dismissal applications, including students dismissed from professional schools, or otherwise not in good academic standing.

• Uploads award at the end of every semester to update student's record to reflect earned Honor Roll status.
5% - Enrollment Holds Management
• Following current policy and academic standing practices, places enrollment blocking holds on students' records who do not meet set criteria prior to main enrollment.
• Conducts assessment of student policy compliance and removes holds as criteria are met.
15% - Data Support
• Serves as a liaison with the College Data Team regarding reports for the unit.
• Provides data and creates comparison reports related to CUAS initiatives or other reports as needed for assistant dean.
15% - Training Coordinator
• Working closely with CUAS colleagues and assistant dean, coordinates the addition and maintenance of all training related materials for CUAS trainings for new CUAS staff, College faculty leaders, new College administrative staff, and academic advisors.
• Conducts semesterly outreach to determine training needs of campus partner units (College departments, JAA).
• Schedules training sessions and coordinates with CUAS staff to secure presenters and manage content.
5% - Orientation Headquarters Academic Support
• Serves as troubleshooting expert in New Student Orientation Headquarters to assist advisors across campus in resolving advising/enrollment issues during all advising sessions.
5% - Requirements Review in Academic Catalog
• Conducts annual review of CLAS undergraduate catalog content to ensure accuracy and comprehensive inclusion of key information related to College policy and procedures.
• Conducts annual comparison review between catalog requirements and DPR programming to identify any discrepancies.
• Follows up on any discrepancies to initiate corrections that bring both information sources into alignment with each other.
5% - Website Maintenance Content Support
• Conducts routine review of website content to ensure accuracy and comprehensive inclusion of key information related to unit services and referral resources.
• Initiates updates to website with website manager, especially related to change in policy or other governance action.

Required Qualifications
1. Bachelor's Degree with three years' experience, OR a Master's degree with one-year experience.
2. One-year minimum of work experience that demonstrates ability to perform detailed work, prioritize multiple tasks, and meet deadlines.
3. Demonstrated strong communication and organizational skills, and high level of attention to detail as evidenced by experience and application materials.

Preferred Qualifications

Job Description35% Admissions and Recruiting:
• Attend trainings and stay current on the use of all university systems/technology related to tracking and collecting documents for prospective students, setting up and managing recruiting campaigns, and managing the admissions cycles.
• Work directly with the graduate studies office and the department graduate director regarding general correspondence with prospective students by federal mail, electronic mail, telephone, and social media when applicable regarding required application procedures and admissions deadlines.
• Manage and review all incoming applications, communicate incomplete items with applicants, and upload documents received by mail or email. Manage admissions database and application summary documents for the admission committee.
• Work with the Graduate Director to schedule admissions meetings.
• Process all admissions, denials, deferrals, and other admissions decisions as directed by Graduate Director and committee. Help compose offer letters for final approval and communicate offers to students.
• Assist with scholarship and fellowship nominations.

• Process related paperwork in a timely fashion.

• Work with students, faculty, and department staff in preparing 3G (GRA/GTA/GA) payroll appointment forms for newly admitted and continuing students and manage students’ sponsored tuition and staff rate forms submission each semester. Communicate with faculty on source of funding and maintain related records.
• Process GRA appointment paperwork for new Self Graduate Fellowship awards and forward to the Self Graduate Fellowship Program as needed.
• Assist international students in applying for SSN#, communicate contract requirements such as the new GTA conference, and work with the SSC to ensure on-time payment for students.
• Monitor student records to ensure all students meet the admission/appointment/enrollment requirements and communicate GTA English requirements to non-native English speakers.
• Assist the Graduate Director in assigning GTA positions and communicate assignments to both students and instructors of records.
• Maintain GTA evaluations and communicate unsatisfactory evaluations to central HR as needed.

10% Seminar:
• Work with the faculty coordinator and the Graduate Director to organize the C&PE 800: Graduate Seminar schedule each fall and spring.
• Coordinate speaker visits, including assisting in making travel arrangements for external speakers, organizing itineraries, creating and distributing announcement flyers, posting abstracts on the course and department website, emailing reminders to students and faculty, collecting and filing all reimbursement receipts with the ETE-SSC financial specialist, sending post-contact emails to external speakers to ensure they have turned in all their receipts and paperwork, and tracking to make sure speakers are reimbursed in a timely manner.
• Help organize workshops and trainings for seminar weeks without an external speaker.

5% Meetings and Other Duties as Assigned:

Position Overview:
The Director - Engineering Management Programs/Professor of the Practice is both an Administrative and Teaching position. The Asst/Assoc/Professor of the Practice portion serves a 3-year limited term, that may be renewed pending comprehensive evaluation. The director serves as the program director for the Master's program in Engineering Management (EMGT) and its associated graduate certificate program within SPS. The program director will work closely with KUEC and SPS administration and faculty to provide strategic direction for these academic programs.

Job Description
Teaching - 50%Teach five courses per calendar year in engineering management at the Edwards Campus or online. Teaching responsibilities include: curriculum development, instructional design, classroom management, grading and teaching improvement in relation to student and colleague feedback. Faculty are responsible for keeping curriculum up-to-date and engaging with external organizations to ensure relevance to a variety of workplace needs. In addition to the regular class teaching schedule, it is expected that transitioning courses to online, hybrid and different length formats as needed will be part of the position. Adhere to program, School, and University policies.

Program Leadership - 40%

- Program Coordination: Provides leadership for program administration
• Course Scheduling: Coordinates the development of the course schedules with Edwards Campus student needs in mind. Promotes best practice in course scheduling with student feedback. The program leader will collaborate with other program and unit leaders to support the development and integration of communication curriculum and student competency development into other academic and continuing education programs. Develops a two- or three-year course rotation plan.
• Course Staffing: Develops plans for staffing of the courses to be taught with the appropriate mix of faculty (tenure-track, professor of the practice, teaching professor, lecturer).
• Program Budgets: Works with KUEC and SPS administration to develop and manage the budget for the EMGT program.
• Program Records and Reports: In conjunction with KUEC and SPS administration, responsible for the management and maintenance of all program records, and preparation of reports in accordance with School and University procedures and policies.
• The program director should be receptive to questions, complaints, grievances, and suggestions from the members of the program, both academic and staff personnel, and from students. The program director has the responsibility to take appropriate actions as required and in accordance with the policies and rules of the School and University.
- Program Supervision:
• Develop mechanisms to receive constant feedback from the relevant constituencies, including the creation of an advisory board and participation in professional meetings to ensure the continued relevance of the curriculum to meet student and workforce needs.

60% - Teaching
Nine credit hours per semester (Fall and Spring) in the Sport Management program at the University of Kansas. The Director is responsible for leading and managing the operations of CAPS, sustaining current services, and exploring innovative approaches that supplement those services. The Director is expected to develop and implement a strategic plan; ensure an inclusive and collaborative work environment; forecast and allocate resources; provide supervision, directly and indirectly, for the staff; develop, implement, and evaluate ongoing assessment plans and outcomes; direct outreach and promotion activities; and perform other tasks that are expected of a mental health leader on campus. Reporting to the Associate Vice Provost for Student Affairs, the Director, who serves as a member of the Student Affairs leadership team, must be prepared to partner with colleagues across the University in order contribute to the overall well-being and academic success of students. Further, the ability to develop relationships with community mental health partners will be a key to success in this role.

Counseling and Psychological Services

Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) is the direct-service counseling unit available to all enrolled students at the University of Kansas. CAPS consists of Clinical Service, Testing Service, and the Campus Assistance, Resource, and Education (CARE) Coordinator (confidential support for students who have experienced gender-based interpersonal violence). The CAPS Clinical Service delivers a range of mental health services including individual and group psychotherapy, psychiatric services, and limited psychological testing. In addition, CAPS offers consultation services to parents and university staff and faculty who are concerned about a student's needs. The Testing Service administers national standardized tests for academic placement and entry to graduate and professional programs. The CAPS doctoral internship in psychology is fully accredited by the American Psychological Association (APA). Permanent, full-time staff include counseling and clinical psychologists, clinical social workers, psychiatrists, and support staff. Student staff include counseling psychology doctoral and master’s practicum students; doctoral psychology interns; mental health peer educators who may be undergraduate or graduate students; and student hourly employees in the testing service.

Required Qualifications
• Doctoral degree in Counseling Psychology or Clinical Psychology from an APA-accredited program and APA-accredited internship; or doctoral degree in Social Work from a Council on Social Work Education accredited program. Minimum of five years of postdoctoral clinical experience, including experience providing therapy, serving a diverse population with a wide range of mental health concerns. Licensed as a mental health provider; if not licensed in Kansas, must be license eligible to practice independently as a mental health provider in the State of Kansas. Minimum of three years of progressive administrative and supervisory experience.
• Effective written communication skills as evidenced by the application materials.

Preferred Qualifications
• Minimum of 10 years of postdoctoral clinical experience serving a diverse population with a wide range of mental health concerns. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with a diverse population of students, staff, faculty, administrators, and other members of the community. Experience in a college/university counseling center with a multidisciplinary staff and an APA accredited internship. Knowledge of compliance with federal and state laws and requirements along with the administration and legal complexities associated with managing a university counseling center. Minimum two years of experience with budget management. Demonstrated knowledge and appreciation of a broad range of theoretical orientations, approaches, and interventions. Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion. Demonstrated ability to conduct program assessment efforts. Experience in policy and procedure development. Knowledge or training in student development. Commitment to professional development and professional associations. Excellent verbal communication and public presentation skills. Exceptional interpersonal skills with a broad and diverse range of people.
