Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Either of the following will qualify:

1. A baccalaureate plus four years of professional level experience in administrative services or agricultural operations.

2. A baccalaureate degree plus four years of experience in a correctional or penal institution with responsibility for the security, custody, rehabilitation or classification of inmates, one year of which must have been in a position at least equivalent in scope of responsibility and/or complexity of work performed to a Corrections Captain in State service.

SUBSTITUTIONS:

Six years of full-time work experience in any field may be substituted for the required baccalaureate degree.

Job Focus Areas:

The Division of Fiscal Operations is responsible for the fiscal management of the Department of Education and the FEMA Disaster Recovery unit of the Recovery School District. The Department has an annual budget of approximately $5 billion of which over $40 million is appropriated for goods and services. Because the Department of Education is the recipient of over 85 separate grants expended through the State General fund, Interagency Transfer, Statutory Dedications, Capital Outlay, Federal Funds, and Auxiliary, both the revenue and the cash management functions are very complex and highly detailed.
