THE POSITION:
Positions allocable to this class work under the general supervision of an Assistant Library Administrator or Library Administrator, and are responsible for providing a vision, project planning and management, programming, and expertise for digitization projects.

Positions in this class must demonstrate awareness of local community trends and issues impacting the Library; be able to make presentations and provide individual and group instruction, exercise independent judgment in performing assignments; and exercise knowledge of the theories, principles, and techniques of librarianship. Incumbents must also possess specialized professional expertise in their particular area of assignment and use current technology to perform librarian duties. Supervisory positions must also exercise knowledge of the principles of supervision, terms and conditions of applicable Memoranda of Understanding, and departmental policies, rules, library locations, and services. As essential functions of the position, incumbents may be required to bend, stoop, squat, twist, reach, work on irregular surfaces, lift objects of moderate weight, and stand or walk for long periods of time.

Essential duties include, but are not limited to:
• Identifies and establishes funding sources for digitization projects, including collaborating in grant writing application and reporting.

Coordinates genetic testing, interprets the results, and communicates this information to the patient and referring clinician. Makes appropriate referrals to service agencies, parent support groups, and specialists. Prepares and maintains case documentation. Under general direction, performs general screenings and produces basic radiographs of breast disorders on all age groups for patients in a clinic and performs other related work as required.

CLASSIFICATION STANDARDS :
Positions allocable to this class produce images of the breast by accurately positioning patient, breast, and armpit for screenings and basic radiographs of breast disorders using DBT machines. Positions operate mobile and stationary equipment within safe parameters specified by State law.

They produce quality breast images and communicate with the patient to obtain cooperation and relieve patient anxiety, and properly position patients to obtain optimal images of the breast. The Mammography Technologists report to a Supervising Mammography Technologist or a Supervising Radiologic Technologist II.
Depending on assignment, duties may include but are not limited to the following:

Receives and reviews physician's request for mammography procedure and identifies the patient per department policy.
Reviews brief breast health history and confirms correct study is ordered and performed.
Performs screening and diagnostic mammography.
Checks the operation of equipment daily and reports malfunction to a supervisor immediately.
Sets up examination room, materials, and equipment including selection of appropriate grids, collimators, and compression paddles specified in equipment and procedure manuals.
Operates mammographic and tomographic units.
Selects and computes machine settings to compensate for such variances as patient size, age, sex, implants, and tissue density.
Selects proper compression paddle, positions equipment at proper angle, and applies appropriate compression to breast.
Positions the patient accurately when the patient cannot be moved, deviates from basic positioning guidelines by angulating the X-ray tube and the detector to avoid injury, discomfort, pain, or intruding the sterile field.
Elicits the cooperation of patients by explaining the procedure and attempts to comfort those who fear mammographic examinations by providing assurance.
Evaluates patient's condition and applies immobilizing devices when the patient is unable to cooperate for proper positioning.
Uses equipment and lead shields, such as thyroid shields and aprons, in accordance with State requirements for radiation protection purposes.
Assists in the clinical training of new mammography technologists and students.
Orient new personnel to the mammography department as needed.
Processes and completes procedures in the electronic health record and the mammography reporting system.
Assists with patient tracking.
Verifies and confirms proper archiving of images in the Picture Archiving and Communication System.
Performs and documents quality control per Mammography Quality Standards Act requirements on a weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis and reports any malfunction or variation to the mammography manager, maintenance, or service provider.

Selects, administers and interprets a wide variety of psychological testing instruments for the diagnosis and evaluation of clients with psychiatric and co-occurring disorders. Generates reports of diagnostic and psychological findings and/or treatment recommendations.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:
A Doctorate from an accredited college or university in psychology, educational psychology, education with the field of specialization in counseling psychology, or in a discipline deemed equivalent by the State of California Department of Consumer Affairs, Board of Psychology.

LICENSE:
A waiver issued by the California Department of Mental Health in accordance with Welfare & Institutions Code Section 5751.1-2. Waivers for newly-trained psychologists shall not exceed five years from the commencement of employment in California, or as currently defined by the State Welfare & Institutions Code. A Geographic Information System Analyst performs a variety of professional duties in support of County and departmental geographic information systems (GIS) databases and GIS capabilities; generates custom and standard maps, spatial analyses and other GIS products to meet customer requirements; utilizes GIS tools and utilities to convert data to GIS formats and performs data quality checking and correction.

A Geographic Information System Analyst is responsible for a combination of the following job functions:
• Formats and generates a variety of GIS products including standard and custom maps and map series, standard map templates, shape files, graphics, tables and reports; performs data searches and retrievals.
• Extracts and organizes data and performs quality control operations to ensure the accuracy and completeness of all data; researches source documents and/or coordinates with others to resolve missing or conflicting data and other anomalies.
• Establishes map area and develops symbology, including thematic and category symbols; uses cartographic and design principles to include legends, insets and reference information.
• Overlays maps over aerial imagery to produce custom products and verify and correct geospatial data.
• Performs standard spatial analyses such as buffering, spatial overlays and distance calculations using established methods and procedures.
• Maintains and updates geospatial databases; extracts, cleans, adjusts and converts data and information from non-GIS systems into GIS formats; converts addresses into GIS formats using geocoding routines.
• Researches and corrects problems with data using spatial and logical analyses; researches and verifies legal descriptions and boundaries; uses scripts, queries and other tools to obtain and/or correct missing or incorrect spatial and attribute data.
• Converts spatial data from one coordinate system to another, using basic geodetic principles; geo-references digital maps to align with real ground locations, using survey monument, GPS and other data as controls; processes, loads, reviews and updates data in GIS database layers; imports database updates.
• Participates in developing and implementing queries, scripts and instructions of moderate difficulty.
• Assists in the design, development, testing and implementation of GIS applications of routine to moderate difficulty to meet customer needs and enterprise requirements.
• Operates GIS-specific hardware including large format plotters and scanners.
• Collect field data using GPS or other equipment as needed; may assist in training and mentoring newer GIS staff members as needed.

SELECTION REQUIREMENTS:

Option 1

A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a major in geographic information systems, GIScience, geography or a closely related field that required equivalent coursework in geographic information systems - AND - six months of experience in the uses and operations of geographic information systems.

Option 2

An Associate's degree from an accredited college or university in geographic information systems, GIScience, geography or a field requiring at least 18 semester units of equivalent coursework in geographic information systems - AND - three (3) years of experience performing technical duties in support of geographic information systems using standard GIS tools to populate and manipulate GIS databases and generate GIS products.

Successful completion of a County recognized GIS certificate program requiring at least 18 semester units of coursework may be substituted for the required education.

DEFINITION:
Supervises a staff of Contract Program Auditors engaged in monitoring and evaluating health services provided by private agencies with County contracts.

CLASSIFICATION STANDARDS:
Positions allocable to this class are distinguished by their responsibility for supervising the activities of a team of Contract Program Auditors engaged in monitoring contracting agencies for contract compliance. In addition, positions in this class may serve as liaison between the County and the agencies providing health services.
• Supervises a team engaged in the maintenance and evaluation of contracts between the County and provider agencies to ensure proper utilization of funds and provision of services.
• Supervises the monitoring and evaluating of services provided by agencies under contract with the County or by units within the Department of Health Services.
• Provides technical assistance in analyzing federal, state and County regulations and in developing policy and procedures for the contracting agencies.
• Develops appropriate guidelines, standards, and procedures for the evaluation of existing contracts in terms of quality and quantity of services provided.
• Assists in the development and interpretation of contract policy for Health Service programs, as well as preparation of contracts and request for proposals.
• Participates in the negotiation of provider contracts.
• Serves as liaison in contract matters between other County departments, local, state, and federal agencies and other concerned parties, public and private, as needed.
