Responsibilities
• Full Stack development: with a high visibility, high performing team to drive the modernization of internal Reinsurance systems (Underwriting and Claims)

Qualifications

Technical & Education
• Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline, computer science preferred
• 5-8+ years of Software Engineering experience, including but not limited to Spring Boot, Angular, Python, JavaScript, JUnit
• Extensive experience working in an Agile environment utilizing Scrum and Kanban, understanding of backlog tracking and incremental delivery
• Experience with relational databases (Liquibase/ SQL Server/ PostgreSQL) and writing and debugging SQL queries
• Experience with CI/CD processes and tools (Bamboo), GIT and DevOps principles
• An ability to code in multiple languages, including an object-oriented language, preferably Java
• Solid understanding of cloud technologies (AWS) & architecture patterns (serverless, microservice, API, event-driven)
• Solid programming discipline: unit testing, fault tolerance, data structures, complexity analysis, object-oriented principles, design patterns, etc.
• Demonstrated success in platform modernization initiatives
• Demonstrate competence in debugging, testing code, analyzing defects
• A comprehensive understanding of technology concepts, business operations, design and development tools, system architecture and technical standards.

Candidates who are selected for this position will be trained remotely and should reside within a reasonable commute of our Syracuse, NY or Bala Cynwyd, PA hub offices to attend occasional collaborative activities with your team, as needed. Candidates not near one of those locations will be fully remote and not expected to report into a local office.

Job Responsibilities
• Investigates claims to determine whether coverage is provided, establish compensability and verify exposure.
• Resolves claims within authority and makes recommendations regarding case value and resolution strategy to Branch Office Management on cases which exceed authority.
• Works closely with staff and outside defense counsel in managing litigated files according to established litigation management protocols.
• Identifies and appropriately handles suspicious claims.
• Identifies and appropriately handles claims with third party subrogation and SIF potential.
• Understands the MSA process and how best to maximize their value. Establishes and maintains accurate reserves on all assigned files.
• Makes timely reserve recommendations to Branch Office Management on cases which exceed authority. Prepares for and attends mediation sessions and/or settlement conferences and negotiates on behalf of LMG and LMG Insureds.
• Makes recommendations regarding strategy on litigated files.
• Demonstrates the ability to understand key data elements and claims related data analysis.
• Confers directly with policyholders on coverage and resolution strategy issues.
• Establishes and updates "Action Plans" on assigned claims which clearly reflect file status and disposition strategy.

Qualifications
• A Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent business experience is required.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of prior Workers Compensation claims experience. Primary experience in the jurisdictions of Connecticut, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Maine, New Jersey, New York, Delaware, Vermont and New Hampshire is preferred
• Proficient in the use of Excel and PowerPoint.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills required.
• Experience with high exposure complex WC claims is strongly desired!

Qualifications

Reconciliations, Tax and Unclaimed Property, etc. Additionally, responsible for leading and managing the payment process for claims, commissions, policyholder reimbursements, agency/broker payments etc. Staying abreast of developments in banking, technology and services with payment and receivable related compliance regulations. Implement change to continually strengthen financial controls protecting company assets and increase efficiencies to stay ahead of payment regulatory bodies (State and Federal Tax Withholding, Unclaimed Property, NACHA, FBAR, PCI etc. regulations). Negotiate and recommend contract agreements with banks and third parties along with developing and managing bank rebate card program(s). These responsibilities are primarily domestic with Global Treasury responsibilities being integrated.

Responsibilities
• Formulates Attestation (controls) and Compliance recommendations to senior management and the business units to protect company assets (fraud mitigation) and strengthen financial and compliance guidelines to improve operating accuracy and efficiency of the organization.
• Maintains many vendor relationships (Banks, Technology Providers, Financial Services) to ensure the best solution and service is being provided.
• Directs the maintenance of accounting procedures, fraud controls, tax and unclaimed property compliance, best practices and policy for corporate departments and business units.
• Responsible for all financial transactions performed by the various Treasury Departments.
• Lead Treasury integrations or divestures as Liberty Mutual acquires or sells segments of the company.
• Responsible for ensuring that department provides timely and accurate data to internal (business units, corporate, etc.) or external (payees, auditors, states, etc.) customers.
• Manages department budget by overseeing the preparation of forecasts, annual budgets and analyzing actual monthly expenses.
• Proactively stays up to date on the changing technological environment within the company and determines effect and go forward strategy on Treasury operations.
• Establishes and maintains proactive, effective communication between corporate and business functions.
• Drives a process improvement and innovative mindset implementing process improvements with new technology with expense savings results, ROI and or headcount reduction.
• Ensures deep analytics are followed to make and recommend data driven decisions.
• Hires, develops, coaches, and makes promotional and compensation recommendations assigned staff.
• Defines individual performance objectives and development plans and ensures alignment with project and unit objectives.

Qualifications
• Bachelor`s degree (Accounting or Finance).
• CPA, advanced degree in Accounting, Data Analysis or Business preferred.
• Minimum of 15 years of accounting or finance experience Must demonstrate the ability to execute thoroughly in a fast-paced work environment, adapting quickly to changing conditions to achieve results.
• Excellent communication and analytical skills to influence and collaborate with all levels of the organization to gain support for ideas and execute on projects that deliver value to customers Experience with innovative technological solutions.
• Strong leader and ability to dentify and attract key individuals with the critical capabilities needed within the operations.
• Comfortable leading meetings, making strategic recommendations to senior management and giving presentations to increasingly large audiences.

The Global Risk Solutions (GRS) Data Lake Team is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Engineer to join our team and help lead the development of our data lake product for the GRS business unit. As a Data Engineer, you will be responsible for leading the design, building, and maintaining a robust data lake platform built with state-of-the-art technologies and architectures, delivering over 50 data sources to a myriad of different customers across the organization.

Note: We are open to hiring at the Senior or Principal level for these openings.

Key Responsibilities
• Lead the design, development, and implementation of the major components of the GRS data lake platform
• Work with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and understand data needs
• Implement data ingestion, storage, and processing solutions for structured and unstructured data
• Ensure the data lake is secure, scalable, and highly available
• Develop and maintain data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes
• Monitor and troubleshoot data lake performance and quality issues
• Lead a team of data engineers through technical guidance and mentorship

Qualifications

Skills:
• Strong programming skills in Scala, Python, Java, or similar back-end language
• Hands-on experience in large systems software design and development with hands-on experience in RESTful APIs or Data Pipeline development
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
• Experience and/or Interest in the Data Engineering Field
• High degree of comfort with data processing, database management, data technologies
• Familiarity with AWS technologies, especially data and analytics products strongly preferred but not required (AWS Glue, Lake Formation, IAM, Redshift, Step Functions)
• Experience with Data technologies (SQL, Spark, DMS, Qlik Replicate) and techniques (Streaming, Replication, Batch) strongly preferred
