The Role

Senior AV Technical Manager

This role plays a pivotal part... in delivering top class Audio Visual services to the University, their visitors and students. The Technical Team Leader should have a high level of expertise in all aspects of Audio Visual Technologies as well as Microsoft Collaboration tools such as Teams. They will be the point of escalation for service issues and responsible for implementation and maintenance of equipment related to AV and hybrid meetings.

Acting as a team manager for a small team of technicians, relationship manager for the stakeholders and supplier manager for the suppliers, delivering all services related to AV.

Effective management of SLAs and KPIs is also part of the role.

This role is as much hands on as it is managing the team and the AV service.

The IT Student Administration and... Engagement team (ITS) is responsible for student systems, including the SITS student records system. The ITS team consists of two teams of Subject Matter Experts; a Development team; a solutions team and a Support team. The team manages all of the development work to provide solutions including e:vision functionality for staff and students.

The Development Team currently consists of 6 developers (including the team leader). The team provides a highly effective service supporting both changes to existing functionality and working on projects. This newly created post is to address a significant number of new projects that are in the pipeline.

The ITS team provide five formal releases of e:vision and portal developments per year including an annual SITS double upgrade. The development team is responsible for meeting the requirements within each release cycle delivering a mix of project items (including a large transformation project), enhancements and bug fixes. The postholder will have the opportunity to work on some interesting and essential developments.

This postholder will be well supported by an experienced and knowledgeable team. The work undertaken can be tailored to the successful candidate’s experience. Significant knowledge of SITS development is essential.

We are looking for someone who has excellent problem solving skills and wishes to provide a good service. The postholder will need to take responsibility for their assigned tasks and be able to work collaboratively to achieve common goals.

We are in search for a highly motivated SITS technical developer with in-depth knowledge of the SITS system and development cycles.

Applications are invited for this Medical Education Fellow position, which has a focus on Primary Care and is based on the Brunel campus in Uxbridge, West London. The successful applicant will have a keen interest in medical education and experience of undergraduate... teaching. You should have completed core training in Primary Care or be in Primary Care specialty training. The post is for a period of 12 months, either as an out-of-programme experience or stand-alone experience.

Brunel Medical School welcomed its first intake of MBBS students in September 2022. It has a number of distinctive features, including team-based learning, programmatic assessment, a House Tutor support system and early exposure to patients in the community. The primary care curriculum extends across all five years of the programme. The PA programme, established at Brunel in 2016, will join the Medical School in August 2023, increasing the opportunities for interdisciplinary teaching and interprofessional learning.

The successful applicant will support teaching and assessment in relation to the Primary Care curriculum, as well as contribute to the design, development and review of educational resources. Although the main focus of this position is the MBBS programme, the successful applicant will also contribute to the PA programme and to interprofessional initiatives. They will work collaboratively with other education teams within the Medical School, contributing to other parts of the programme, as needed.

The objective of this project is to improve the nutritional value of the plant-based products using alternative proteins and innovative technologies while reducing the levels of anti-nutrients.

The primary focus of the work of the successful applicant will be the examination of a range of ingredients on selected protein-based meat products, evaluation of the process parameters and optimization of the ingredients’ formulation and process parameters for products with healthier and improved sensorial profiles.

The successful candidate will hold either a BEng/MEng/MSc or a PhD degree in a relevant area of Food Science/Engineering/Technology/Chemical or Process Engineering or equivalent. They will be based at BUL but engage with Plant Meat Ltd and use the facilities of both institutions. Since 2016 the University of Hull and Cambridge Education Group have enjoyed a successful partnership through the delivery of both online (Hull Online) and in-person international student pathway provision (ONCAMPUS Hull). We are delighted to be extending this partnership through the... creation of a Study Centre in London, due to open to postgraduate students in early 2024. Students will be registered as University of Hull students and will benefit from our quality and standards framework and regulation.

Reporting to the Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Education), the Dean of the London Study Centre will provide leadership and direction, and manage the growth of the University of Hull’s London Study Centre, translating the University’s 2030 Strategy into delivery, as part of a collaborative venture with Cambridge Education Group. The successful candidate will provide leadership and vision to all staff within the Centre, will foster professional collaborations with colleagues on the main campus, build and grow networks with industrial partners and other London-based stakeholders, and ensure the smooth operational running of the Centre. Strong candidates for the role will be strategic thinkers, with the proven ability to empower, enable, motivate, and challenge teams and individuals to develop and deliver a positive and high-performance culture. Critically, you will be committed to Hull’s mission and core values of inclusivity, empowerment and progressiveness.
