Essential Functions:

Recruit athletes to Marist College by: Actively monitoring and evaluating of student-athletes in the transfer portal. Developing relationships with prospective student-athletes, coaches, parents, and other individuals associated with prospective student-athletes. Researching the tournaments, showcases, high school games, tryouts, and other relevant recruiting opportunities of prospective student-athletes. Preparing and coordinating the recruiting calendar and accommodations in accordance with the NCAA, MAAC, and institution regulations. tenure-track Assistant Professor of History with a specialization
in Latin American history to begin in August 2023. The successful
candidate will contribute to our programs in Latin American &
Caribbean Studies and Global Studies. Teaching responsibilities
include survey courses in Latin American history, and upper-level
courses created by the successful candidate. A secondary focus in
environmental studies or Indigenous studies will be considered a
plus. Candidates will be expected to teach in our first-year
seminar program, and expertise or interest in service learning
pedagogy is especially welcome. A strong commitment to teaching and
mentoring undergraduates is required. Candidates must demonstrate
strong or potential accomplishments in areas contributing to

This position is part of an ongoing cluster hire, and we will
welcome additional new faculty members as part of our Global
Studies cluster. These new faculty members will join faculty in the
departments of English, history, modern languages and cultures, and
political science who focus on Global Studies generally, and
Africana Studies and Latinx & Latin American Studies
specifically. The position is also part of a major college-wide
hiring initiative with the goal of creating a more diverse,
