Class Summary
This is the first level in the Campus Police series. Incumbents
perform routine clerical, dispatching, patrolling and monitoring
work related to campus safety and security.
Incumbents screen incoming emergency and non-emergency calls to
determine location, nature of the call, gather information, and
dispatch and assign appropriate personnel and resources to
incidents. Major duties and responsibilities include: receiving and
prioritizing incoming phone calls; answering alarms; dispatching
Officer throughout the campus; monitoring campus buildings,

systems; and corresponding/sending emergency alerts to staff and
students.

and other alarms, to ensure student, staff, and public safety;

• Utilizes online systems, software, and databases to perform
information searches, and document and update information.
