Coaches must be qualified and are hired for one season.

To be a certified coach, an applicant must:
• Be an MCPS teacher or professional certified educator employed by MCPS

• Provide a reference statement, upon initial employment, signed by two reputable persons who reside in the local area or in the applicant's community, attesting that the person is of good and moral character
• Must be physically qualified to drive a school bus or other vehicle transporting students and pass a physical examination of a scope prescribed by the Virginia Board of Education furnished on a form prescribed by the Board showing such results (pursuant to VA Code § 22.1-178)
• Must have had a reasonable amount of experience in driving motor vehicles to be trained to drive a school or activity bus upon a highway in the Commonwealth of Virginia (pursuant to VA Code § 46.2-339)
• Dependability and punctuality required
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Possess a valid Virginia "Class B" Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with air brakes and S and P endorsements, or be able to obtain one after receiving approved training offered by MCPS
Salary: $21.01/hour
FLSA: Non-exempt
