What you'll be doing
• Lead the ideation, technical development, and launch of innovative products.
• Establish shared vision across the company by building consensus on priorities leading to product execution
• Drive product development with a team of engineers and designers
• Integrate usability studies, research and market analysis into product requirements to enhance user satisfaction
• Define and analyze metrics that inform the success of products
• Understand Mercari's strategic and competitive position and deliver products that are recognized best in the industry
What you'll need:
• 2+ years product management, product design experience
• Organizational and analytical skills
• 2+ years of experience in technical architecture of mobile applications
• 1+ years experience designing user interfaces
• 1+ years experience creating examples through wireframes and mock-ups
• Engineering / programming experience is a plus
• Basic skills in SQL
• 1+ years experience working in agile development environment

What You'll Be Doing:
• Work with the business intelligence and engineering groups to understand existing internal tools and data warehouses and to identify data quality and reliability improvements
• Collaborate with teams across Product, Engineering, Marketing, Trust & Safety to understand how the business operates and recommend strategies to drive continuous improvement using data driven insights
• Design, develop, test and launch new dashboards and reporting solutions into production
• Maintain and support reports and dashboards running in production
• Develop quantitative models utilizing analytical tools, statistical rigor and data mining capabilities to drive efficiency
• Help product managers & operational teams establish benchmarks, inputs and critical metrics for new initiatives
• Develop insights to guide the segmentation of users on both sides of the marketplace
• Conduct deep dives & analytical investigations into inconsistent trends in data
• Build key data sets to empower operational and exploratory analysis
• Provide guidance and develop data standards and reporting best practices
What You'll Need:
• 3+ years’ experience in a business intelligence role
• Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Business Intelligence or related field required
• Ability to understand and find appropriate applications for data and analysis results
• Experience analyzing data from 3rd party providers: Google Analytics, Site Catalyst, Coremetrics, Adwords, AppBoy/Braze, etc.
• Experience with visualization and dashboard applications like Looker, Chartio, Tableau
• Extensive SQL experience for data extraction, manipulation and analyses; including complex joins, creation of views, stored procedures, and database scripting
