Core Responsibilities:
• Oversees all day-to-day operations regarding student organizations and club sports and provides supervision to team of Student Organization Coordinators.
• Supports student org registration and re-registration processes and manages compliance to remain in good standing and mitigate rise.
• Educates student leaders about College policy, including but not limited to event planning requirements, hazing and non-discrimination infractions, and financial responsibilities.
• Maintain and update student engagement platform
• Provides oversight and supports all aspects of the College’s club sports program
• Ensures existing club sports teams comply with all relevant College policies and takes group and/or individual corrective or disciplinary action as necessary should policies not be followed
• Approves all club sports competition and travel schedules and on-campus tournaments
• Develops training and provide support for club sports advisors and coaches
Position Prerequisites:

Bachelors required, Masters preferred

•3-5 years experience working with student organizations or club sports (graduate assistantship experience applicable)

•Demonstrated ability to work with and support a diverse student body with a focus on equity and inclusion

• Ability to function successfully as part of a team with overlapping and disparate responsibilities

• Experience with budget tracking, assessment, and policy review

• Creative problem-solving skills

• Valid driver’s license

The Chaplain’s primary role is to support Muslim life on campus through educational, cultural, and social programming for students, staff, faculty, and the wider community. Facilitating the provision of worship and other services, generating impactful programming and advocating for the needs of Muslims where... needed, such as, for prayer space, hijab, halal food, holidays etc. are essential functions. The Associate Chaplain also serves the entire campus as a resource on matters related to Islam, religious equity and inclusion, and interfaith engagement.

Additionally, the successful candidate will work together with Scott Center colleagues to create thoughtful religious life programming and provide spiritual support and guidance to members of the entire college community.

Primary functions of the Associate Muslim Chaplain and Interfaith Advisor include collaborating with the dean/director and other college chaplains in providing leadership for major college functions, providing chaplaincy care for all members of the campus community and developing religious and spiritual programming for the entire community. The Chaplain will collaborate with their colleagues in the Scott Center to support vibrant and healthy spiritual life and will assist in facilitating interfaith programming and cooperation among all student groups. They will also participate in the work of the student Religious Life Council (RLC) as well as maintain close relations with local clergy and religious groups.

Other responsibilities include working with Admissions and the Dean of Students Offices to recruit and retain Muslim students and assisting Advancement in fundraising as requested.

Position Purpose:

Assists the Dean of Spiritual and Religious Life and Director of the Scott Center with general duties related to the mission of the Center and serves as the advisor for the Muslim community on campus; supports and develops programs for Muslim students and serves as a resource on matters related to Islam, religious diversity, and interfaith dialogue; works together with Scott Center colleagues to create thoughtful religious life programming and provide spiritual support and guidance to members of the college community.

• Collaborates with the Dean/Director and other chaplains and the Program Coordinator in providing leadership for major College functions and in developing religious and spiritual programming for students and the wider community

• Supports Muslim life on campus through educational, cultural, and social programing for students, staff, faculty, and the wider community, including oversight for Jummah (Friday) Prayers and other important Muslim observations and advising students and elected leaders of the Muslim Students Association
• Facilitates interfaith conversation and cooperation among student groups, including the Mosaic Interfaith House and the work of the Religious Life Council (RLC)
• Works with the Admissions, Advancement and Dean of Students Offices to recruit and retain Muslim students and assist in fundraising as requested

A strong candidate for the position will have a broad-based knowledge of Islamic religion, history, and cultures; post-baccalaureate training in pastoral care, Muslim chaplaincy, and multi-faith relations is desirable. A Bachelor’s degree is required, and a Master’s degree or other graduate study is preferred. Academic preparation may be in any relevant discipline. Experience in interfaith or higher education settings is preferred. Desired traits include excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively in verbal and written form, as well as comfort in working and interacting with student life colleagues, other administrators and faculty with a commitment to the intellectual and cultural life of a highly selective, private, liberal arts community.
