That's because MITRE people are committed to tackling our nation's toughest challenges—and we're committed to the long-term well-being of our employees. MITRE is different from most technology companies. We are a not-for-profit corporation chartered to work for the public interest, with no... commercial conflicts to influence what we do. The R&D centers we operate for the government create lasting impact in fields as diverse as cybersecurity, healthcare, aviation, defense, and enterprise transformation. We're making a difference every day—working for a safer, healthier, and more secure nation and world. Our workplace reflects our values. We offer competitive benefits, exceptional professional development opportunities, and a culture of innovation that embraces diversity, inclusion, flexibility, collaboration, and career growth. If this sounds like the choice you want to make, then choose MITRE—and make a difference with us.
At N250, we work across the Joint Staff and the Combatant Commands in collaboration with the Services, Department of Defense, national and military intelligence organizations, and interagency partners to support current and future operations and to help prepare the Joint Force for globally integrated operations through outcome- and data-driven engineering, recommendations, and solutions.
Roles and Responsibilities:
• Transform highly technical content into professional, digestible work products, emphasizing clear, concise, original writing supported by credible, reliable sources and valuable recommendations.
• Assist technical staff in producing work products that our sponsors want to use.
• Develop and maintain quality document creation and delivery processes in support of the Division’s vision and goals.
• Edit work products for both content (completeness, accuracy, and appropriate language) and form (organization, visual design, and usability) with high attention to detail.
• Implement MITRE’s style guide and citation preferences across all deliverables but be adaptable to sponsor-specific style guides as needed.
• Develop and communicate standard knowledge management processes for N250 work products: identifying, organizing, and storing information for discovery and re-use across MITRE.
• Upload formal, key, and other identified work products to the MITRE Product Library (MPL).
• Maintain a deliverables tracker and provide quarterly business intelligence updates to Division leadership.
Minimum Qualifications:
• A Bachelor of Arts (BA) or a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree with 5 years of experience; or 3 years and a Master’s degree; or a PhD with relevant experience who can immediately contribute at this job step
• A minimum of three years as a technical writer/editor, communications specialist, or in a primary role organizing, writing, and reviewing program documentation.
