They will need to critically analyse data, lead project workstreams and be a contact for certain areas within Assessment Management.

The Officer's role will provide guidance and support to students and academic staff, supported by their team, on a wide range of assessment related issues.

The role will require the ability to provide excellent stakeholder service and administrative support for assessment activities across Manchester Metropolitan University. There will be a need to establish excellent working relationships across Professional Service area, the academic community and with collaborative partners.

Lecturer/Senior Lecturer – Web Design and Coding

We are looking to appoint a Lecturer or Senior Lecturer in Web Design and Coding. The ideal candidate should have experience of a creative approach to designing and delivering higher education curriculum at foundation, undergraduate and postgraduate levels in subject specific and interdisciplinary contexts. This role requires a versatile approach and ability to deliver across different levels and (potentially) programmes. They will contribute to a vibrant and collaborative team that spans a wide range of digital arts disciplines, encompassing both academic and industry professionals.

The applicant should have experience of web design and skills in coding, including knowledge of recent developments in digital product development, interface design and user experience, as well as critical thinking practice within an industry context.

We are also looking for Candidates that have experience in digital libraries/archives or educational/informative apps.

The applicant will be expected to help build and grow the coding culture in SODA, including the development of physical computing and maker culture. They will also be responsible for supporting the development of public facing interactive installations involving creative coding such as projection-mapped content, interactive LED screens and Object Based Media (OBM).

The applicant should also have an in-depth understanding of current industry trends within this field and/or be able to conduct research as well as delivering programmes that are grounded in the present but offer space to explore the future – leading students to investigate what it means to be a creative arts practitioner at the convergence of storytelling, technology and innovation.

We are looking to recruit to the role of Education Services Administrator in multiple teams within our Assessment Management department. Assessment is at the heart of what a university does and our department's purpose is to enable our students and colleagues to achieve their best by delivering sector-leading excellence and innovation in assessment management. Assessment Management consists of six teams: • Assessment Delivery • Assessment We are looking to recruit to the role of Education Services Administrator in multiple teams within our Assessment Management department.

Assessment is at the heart of what a university does and our department's purpose is to enable our students and colleagues to achieve their best by delivering sector-leading excellence and innovation in assessment management.

Assessment Management consists of six teams:
• Assessment Delivery
• Assessment Systems
• Assessment Standards
• Assessment Service Desk
• Progression and Classification
• Assessment Mitigations

Whilst roles are based within particular teams, staff work flexibly across all areas. Allocation of which team successful candidates will be based in will be determined at the point of roles being offered.

Assessment Management is part of a wider Education Services department. The department is organised around three thematic areas: Assessment, Student and Curriculum. Colleagues work collaboratively and flexibly to support the needs... of the whole department in relation to the demands of the academic calendar. 



The Roles :

All roles are varied, but a brief flavour of the core work of each team is listed below:
• Assessment Delivery – organising and scheduling exams, set-up and receipt of coursework.
• Assessment Systems – configuration of assessment-related systems, including the configuration of progression rules, data manipulation and interrogation.
• Assessment Standards – oversight of regulations, quality processes, external examining, and academic misconduct.
• Assessment Service Desk – first line stakeholder support, triaging queries via a ticketing system, phone calls and email. The role would suit someone with a passion for delivering customer service.
• Progression and Classification – manages student assessment records, ensuring marks are present and correct, and student results are published in a timely fashion via the running of assessment boards.
• Assessment Mitigations – this team oversight of student extensions and finding ways to ensure students who experience difficulties have the best possible chance of continuing their studies.



Ideal Candidate :

We are looking for someone who:
• Has excellent attention to detail, data accuracy, manipulation and interrogation skills.
• Has a passion, ability, and some experience in delivering high levels of stakeholder service and effective communication.
• Can work flexibly to achieve team objectives by assisting others and working collaboratively to complete tasks and projects.
• Will have the confidence to take responsibility for defined areas of work within Assessment Management.
• Feels comfortable taking ownership of and resolving complex queries.
