Position Summary
The Program Manager is responsible for overseeing the coordination and administration of all aspects of an initiating program for Cancer Inequities including planning, organizing, staffing, leading, and controlling program activities.
The Program Manager supports the Director of the Institute of Translational Genomic Medicine with a recently awarded international effort. The program manager will coordinate establishment and sustainability activities of multiple international sites and coordinate the research-related interactions across the consortium. Provision of technical assistance to other Morehouse School of Medicine staff and faculty in evaluation related activities. The Research Centers in Minority Institution is seeking a Project Director.
Research Centers in Minority Institution (RCMI) U54 Center for Translational Research in Health Disparities (CTRHD) Project Director Manages and directs MSM's RCMI U54 CTRHD Program. The RCMI is a large and complex project of considerable scope and complexity. It requires knowledge of the program and the associated processes and procedures as well as biomedical science administration.
Minimum Qualifications
• Bachelor's Degree Required.
• Five years of related experience

Description of Job Duty
Responsibilities include oversight of the operations and works as a strategic partner with the Project Leader (Principal Investigator) outlining, planning and reviewing the goals and objectives of the center. The responsibilities also include planning, organizing and managing daily operations, program policy and procedure design and implementation. Duties may also include marketing and defending program goals and objectives before a governing body.
• Responsible for operational duties related to daily financial, personnel, administration and clinical activities of the U54 Center.
• Works with senior leadership in program design and development and implementation of program goals, objectives, policies, and procedures.
• Works with senior leadership in developing strategies to achieve program objectives and goals; in the efficient operation of the program, setting priorities for management, budget, and fiscal activities.
• Plans and implements administrative and operational activities of the U54; recommends changes to meet established goals and objectives.
• Works with senior leadership to monitor and oversee all budget and budget-related activities; keeps abreast of budgetary activities and potential budgetary problems; presents quarterly reports on the budget; Directs staff in reconciling and reporting budgetary information on a quarterly basis.
• Responsible for the development and formulation of the annual budget; prepares budgetary documents and reports; oversees other budgetary data and information of the program.
• Participates in writing and developing proposals. Conducts pre-award activities related to procuring grants and other extramural awards.
• Responsible for ensuring compliance with federal agencies' policy statements and guidelines. NIH/NCRR/RCMI funding agency guidelines. Including IACUC, OMB, Conflict of Interest, Space, Effort Reporting, and etc.
• Supervises, directs, and evaluates assigned staff.
