NBC News and MSNBC Digital are seeking a Designer to join our growing Art and Photo Department. The designer will work closely with editors, reporters, and art directors to visualize our stories and brand on nbcnews.com, msnbc.com and our digital platforms.
This position is represented by the News Guild – NY CWA.
Responsibilities:
• Producing conceptual, photo-heavy illustrations with Photoshop and Illustrator for inclusion in stories on nbcnews.com, msnbc.com, and our social platforms
• Designing templates and graphics for our social platforms, newsletters, and video thumbnails
• Selecting and editing images for inclusion in stories published on nbcnews.com, msnbc.com, and our social platforms
• Managing multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
Qualifications
• 2+ years of experience producing, editing and working in design

Role Summary/Purpose: The Junior Publicist for MSNBC will assist the Vice President, Communications and Media Relations team. The role is a Wednesday to Sunday position to support the team with day-to-day activities managing publicity and communications for MSNBC's weekend programming.
Responsibilities
• Pitch show content and write press releases for weekend programming
• Act as point of contact between the executive and internal/external partners, press, and publicity team
• Day to day lead for media monitoring and daily clippings

Responsibilities:
• Order and coordinate all graphic elements for air.
• Oversee the airing of all graphic elements in control room during live program.
• Work closely with producers to research, select and locate required footage for broadcast.
• Fact check and spell check all graphics before they make air.
• Locate and share relevant still images for air.
Qualifications
• At least one year of news production experience.
• Bachelor's degree.
