Summary

Builds, rebuilds, troubleshoots, repairs, tests, replaces and inspects locomotives, passenger railroad cars and components (diesel and MU) in accordance with Federal (AAR, FRA, DOT) and LIRR/MTA regulations and standards.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
• Inspect, repair, maintain and install various components, subsystems, and car bodies of rolling stock equipment, including, but not limited to, air-brake, doors, glazing, seats, truck, coupler and draft gear assemblies.
• Perform daily and periodic tests of air-brake systems as required by the Code of Federal Regulations (CFR).
• Perform daily and periodic mechanical inspections as required by the CFR.
• Performs scheduled and on demand passenger railroad car equipment maintenance tasks such as: (but not limited to) air brake tests; removing and replacing defective parts; repairs to and maintenance of floors, seats, windows, lights, toilets, coupler assemblies, car body components, HVAC systems, brake rigging, wheels and horns.
• Welding, painting and stenciling of numbers/letters on railroad passenger cars (diesel and MU).
• Utilize a variety of hand tools, power tools, specialty tools, and measuring instruments.
• Work sites may be located throughout the LIRR system which extends from Manhattan to Montauk.

Qualifications
• A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent (GED or TASC) approved by a State’s Department of Education or recognized accredited organization.
• Must possess one of the following:
• A minimum of four years of documented mechanical experience;

or
• A combination of four years of full-time or part-time trade, vocational or military training schools in a mechanical discipline and documented work experience;

or
• Two of more years of railroad or transit railcar maintenance experience;

or
• A Bachelor’s Degree or higher with two years of mechanical experience and/or training;

or
• A current LIRR employee with four years of LIRR work history and two years of mechanical experience and/or training.
• Mechanical Ability: must possess a working understanding of mechanical principles, as well as the ability to remove and replace various parts and components.
• Mut possess a working knowledge of the proper use of hand/power tools, measuring and testing devices.
• Must be able to trouble shoot mechanical, pneumatic, and electrical systems.

Additional Information

Upon employment, candidates will be admitted into the Car Repairman training program. Successful completion of this program is a condition of employment.

Car Repairman hired or transferred into this position under this bulletin must take the Phase II Road Car Inspector (RCI) training program when offered. A Car Repairman who fails to qualify as a Road Car Inspector (RCI) will be handled as per the provisions of the controlling labor agreement, which includes possible termination of employment.

Training Information
• Must successfully complete Metro-North’s Assistant Conductor training program. After successful completion of this training, individuals will work as Assistant Conductors for 12-16 months, before entering mandatory Conductor Promotional training.
• Must successfully complete Metro-North's Conductor Promotional training program and all licensing requirements as prescribed by CFR.
• Training involves classroom instruction, field training, on-the-job training and homework assignments. Must become qualified on the Rules of the Operating Department (Book of Rules Qualified) and pass all qualifying written and performance tests during the training program.

Rate of Pay

The starting rate for this position is $30.04/hour (70% of the full rate). The annual wage progression scale as an Assistant Conductor is as follows: Year 1=70% > Year 2=70% > Year 3=75% > Year 4=80% > Year 5=85% > Year 6=100%. The full 100% rate of pay is $42.92/hour.*

This rate has been established by the Collective Bargaining Unit and is non-negotiable.
• Upon completing the Conductor promotional step and obtaining the Conductor license, the wage progression will follow rates stated in the ACRE Conductor Bargaining Agreement.

Seniority

Applicants will establish seniority in the Association of Commuter Rail Employees (ACRE), the union representing Assistant Conductors, in accordance with the union's current collective bargaining agreement.

Members of ACRE are subject to an initiation fee and monthly union dues.

Ability to work various days, holidays, shifts, hours, and at all locations is required.

Summary

OMNY Marketing Senior Manager will work within MTA Advertising & Promotions team to plan, manage and execute marketing activities to transition all MTA riders to using OMNY by 2025.

The Senior Manager will help define and amplify OMNY features and benefits and drive adoption. S/he will manage numerous aspects of the overall marketing plan, including campaign development and execution. Oversee the marketing project calendar and ensure deliverables and installations happen as expected.

Responsibilities

Partner with the creative studio to initiate, manage and track all creative marketing development.

Develop the agenda of creative meetings, ensure drafts and finals are delivered promptly, and assess implementation in the field.

Manage OMNY's social strategy.

Develop rider experiences and events to reach new and hard-to-convert customers

Act as liaison with our external marketing firm

Manage marketing projects that drive OMNY adoption.

Create work plans

Manage a marketing calendar of events, deals, and promotions.

Monitor and report progress

Proactively raise red flags on issues

Develop weekly project status reporting.

Plan engaging, rider-focused campaigns and promotions across all MTA-owned media assets.

Develop a media plan and schedule for each promotion (which media they need to be in and when).

Gather specific results of campaigns, rider feedback, and other metrics, and incorporate results into reporting.

Influence and contribute to the development of OMNY promotional content.

Collaborate with social media teams to schedule promotional posts; gather and report on results.

Develop and maintain OMNY communication assets library.

Build good working relationships across various departments.

Develop regular communication channels with partners throughout the organization, including agencies and other departments.

Suggest and implement new ideas, process improvements, and other efficiency improvements.

Identify, analyze, and implement new creative marketing opportunities (e.g., contests and events).

Education and Experience

Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Journalism, or a related field.

Must have a minimum (5) of five years of marketing experience.

Must have a minimum (3) of three years of project management experience.

Experience with project management software, e.g., Monday.com.

Experience with print and digital marketing.

Exceptionally organized.

Creative, proactive problem solver.

Creative production and overall program management experience are a plus.

Compensation

Salary Range: The current minimum salary for Heating and Air Conditioning Maintainer is $33.84 per hour for a 40-hour week increasing to $39.81 per hour in the sixth year of service . Responsibilities

Heating and Air Conditioning Maintainer s, under supervision, maintain, install, inspect, test, alter, and repair heating and air conditioning systems and equipment of MTA New York City Transit structures, such as shops, stations, and buildings. They work on air conditioners and components, such as compressors, condensers, evaporators, fans, motors, electrical and electronic controls and valves. They work on boilers, furnaces and components, such as boiler sections, heaters, radiators, piping, pumps, motors, and electrical and electronic controls and valves. They solder and braze, keep records, write reports, and perform related work.

Some of the physical activities performed by Heating and Air Conditioning Maintainers and environmental conditions experienced are: loading and driving light utility trucks; lifting equipment weighing up to 75 pounds; lifting equipment overhead; climbing and descending ladders; working at heights of up to 50 feet; crouching to reach equipment being repaired; making visual inspections of equipment; distinguishing colored wiring; and reading blueprints and schematics.

Education and Experience

E ducation and Experience Requirements: You must meet one the following requirements:
• Successful completion of a four-year, full-time apprenticeship in the construction, repair and maintenance of air conditioning and/or heating systems recognized by the New York State Department of Labor, the U.S. Department of Labor; or any apprenticeship council that is recognized by the U.S. Department of Labor; or
• Three years of full-time satisfactory experience at the journey level (i.e., fully-trained, knowledgeable, proficient and competent mechanic) in the installation, repair, and maintenance of industrial, commercial, or domestic air conditioning units, or commercial refrigeration equipment, or heating systems in buildings, and the electrical controls and wiring for such equipment; or
• Two years of full-time satisfactory experience at the journey level as described in paragraph “2.” above, plus completion of one of the following listed below before obtaining your journey-level experience:
• Two years of full-time satisfactory experience performing work described above in “2” as a mechanic’s helper, apprentice or trainee; or
• Graduation from a recognized trade school or technical school, with a major course of study in electromechanical, electrical or electronic technology, or a closely related field totaling 600 hours; or
• Graduation from a vocational high school, with a major course of study in electro-mechanical, electrical or electronic technology, or a closely related field; or
• An associate degree or a higher-level degree, from an accredited college or university with a major course of study in electro-mechanical, electrical or electronic technology, or a closely related field.
