• District 40: Buncombe (Resident)

Salaries are determined within the range of $52,867.00 - $ 82,000 annually, based upon years of experience and certifications.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

Graduation from high school and current certification from the National Court Reporters Association as a Registered Professional Reporter (RPR) or the National Verbatim Reporters Association as a Certified Verbatim Reporter (CVR ) .Candidates with advanced level certification such as Registered Merit Reporter (RMR), Certificate of Merit (CM), Certified Realtime Reporter (CRR), or Realtime Verbatim Reporter (RVR) also desired. Completion of a court reporting program either approved by the National Court Reporters Association, endorsed by the National Verbatim Reporters Association, or sponsored by an institute of higher learning preferred but not required.

SALARY GRADE: Flat Rated The North Carolina Administrative Office of the Courts (NCAOC), Technology Services Division, seeks a qualified Cybersecurity Analyst to manage potential vulnerabilities and communicating these potential vulnerabilities to appropriate divisions for remediation or defined compensating controls. This position supports the North Carolina Judicial Branch... / statewide unified court system and its various custom-built and off-the-shelf products that support 7,000+ employees statewide, as well as other critical government entities outside of the Judicial Branch, such as law enforcement and Department of Transportation network interfaces to ensure that risks to both on-site legacy and cloud hosted information assets are proactively managed as well as managed cost effectively. The Cybersecurity Analyst will be dedicated to collaborative efforts supporting review and mitigation of Judicial Branch cloud-based security risks. The person in this position must be highly knowledgeable about known vulnerabilities and best practices regarding cybersecurity and information security guidance. Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

Pinpoint and prioritize vulnerability tasks via tickets for networking, servers, applications, and workstations both in the cloud or on-premise.
Work with peers to improve success of vulnerability mitigation via clear communication of vulnerability criticality and remediation consulting.
Provide methods to assess and continually improve overall cybersecurity, including application, network, data, cloud and mobile.
Analyze designs and engineering of security and system monitoring technologies.
Establish performance metrics to measure and manage operational security effectiveness.
Manage and release reports, dashboards, and metrics, and when necessary, present those reports to leadership.
Evaluate new technologies and make recommendations to secure new tools.

The person in this position reports to the Cybersecurity Officer. Work is hybrid office and work from home.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities / Competencies

Knowledge of: IT risk; security architecture; network security; cloud/mobile security; data security infrastructure; standards and frameworks (e.g.: NIST-800-53); and technology best practices. Skills in: advanced and effective verbal and non-verbal communication skills; aptitude for IT security and strong understanding of applied security concepts and best practices in Cloud and On-Premise. Ability to: act with integrity; take pride in work; seek to excel; be successful in a highly dispersed and decentralized operating environment; work cooperatively across the organization; and make IT vulnerability management related recommendations based on data, facts, and analysis.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related information technology field and five (5) years of related work experience in cybersecurity and/or information security; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Management prefers candidates with CISSP certification. This position requires a strategic thinker with strong collaboration skills, detailed working knowledge of IT, and experience with cloud and information security best practices.

SALARY GRADE: 25 The North Carolina Administrative Office of the Courts (NCAOC) seeks an excellent individual to serve as the AWS / Cloud Services Administrator with a primary focus to support all NCOAC technology initiatives related to AWS Cloud Services, and Managed Hosting (data and services). In this position, you will be the primary for daily administration and support of NCOAC's AWS Environment and provide collaboration with multiple internal and external teams to ensure appropriate, cost-effective, and quality systems are implemented. Your primary responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

Configure cloud management services on AWS in the organization.
Manage the complete AWS life cycle, along with security, provisioning, and automation.
Administrate and establish the architecture of multi-tier systems.
Fine-tune and configure various cloud infrastructures.
Perform services such as kernel patching, errata patching, and software... upgrades.
Ensure that production AWS environment maintains 99.9% uptime during core business hours.

This position reports to the Distributed Computing Infrastructure Supervisor. Work hours are 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM, Monday - Friday with some night and evening hours based on projects and workload.
This is a hybrid remote position (approximately 60% remote). Working from home is at management's discretion. Candidate must be a resident of North Carolina or willing to relocate to North Carolina.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities / Competencies

Knowledge of: managing, troubleshooting, maintaining, and supporting a distributed computing environment leveraging on-premises Active Directory services and AWS Cloud Services; configuration management frameworks such as Puppet, Chef, or Ansible; core concepts of VHD, VHDX, Azure Tooling & Blob storage handling and workload migration to and from AWS, VMware, etc.; and Cloud-based application deployment architectures. Skills in: strong analytical problems solving and decision-making, including experience in reducing operational overhead by leveraging Python and PowerShell automation; Java or C++; AWS platform tools and services; managing common AWS services (EC2, RDS, S3, VPC, CloudFormation, etc.); containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubermetes; and basic administration of MySQL, MSSQL, Postgres, DynamoDB, MongoDB, and/or ElasticSearch; Ability to: work efficiently and effectively with little oversight; manage a mature operation based on repeatable processes and appropriate metrics; communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders at all levels; diagnose issues and apply appropriate trouble-shooting analysis; prepare and present facts clearly and concisely in both written and oral form; evaluate and document processes and record keeping methods; and contribute to process improvements; collaborate with engineers or software developers to select appropriate design solutions or ensure the compatibility of system components; provide guidance on the best practices for installing and testing of hardware and software to minimize operational impact to the organization; establish functional or system standards to ensure operational requirements, quality requirements, and design constraints are addressed; provide technical guidance or support doing the development or troubleshooting of Distributed systems; and research, test, or verify proper functioning of software patches and fixes.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

Bachelor's degree in computer science or another related information technology field and three (3) years experience in AWS Cloud Management in an enterprise environment; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience in Python, PowerShell, Java or C++ is a must. AWS certifications are a plus.
