JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a talented registered nurse (RN) to join our Examinations team. The ideal candidate will bring value to the team by contributing their nursing knowledge and expertise when assisting in the content development process for all NCSBN examinations.

Reporting to the Manager, Content Development, Examinations, the Content Developer Associate I will be able to work independently to review and edit nursing exam content, while also having the opportunity to interact with a team of content developers and nursing experts on various department projects and research. RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assist in the development of material for public speaking, and outreach through internal and external publications on behalf of NCSBN including speaking at workshops.

QUALIFICATIONS
• Current unencumbered RN license required.
• Bachelor of Science in nursing required.
• 3+ years recent clinical practice and maintains current clinical nursing knowledge.

• Participates in coalitions and acts as liaison to various groups and/or projects to promote the interests of state nurse licensing board’s public protection mandate and therefore the interests of NCSBN.
• Monitors federal legislation and immediately identifies potential opportunities for and threats to the organization or boards of nursing.
• Conducts detailed analysis and makes recommendations regarding legislation and public policy initiatives arising from federal legislation at the national level related to nursing regulation.
• Manages the day-to-day relationship with external government relations firm, conveying needs and expectations of NCSBN governance and senior staff.
• Maintains working knowledge of NCSBN’s mission, goals, bylaws, strategic plan, and services.
• Works closely with the Nursing Regulation team and participates in activities and discussions.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS
• Master’s degree in public or health care policy, public administration, political science, law, or related field required.
• Minimum of five years’ work experience in government relations, legislative, and political affairs required.
• Knowledge of professional health care regulation, public protection models and nonprofit associations preferred.
• Detail-oriented, resourceful, innovative, tactful, and diplomatic with the ability to work collaboratively and/or independently to resolve issues and ensure that assignments and projects are accurately completed within established deadlines.

The National Council States Boards of Nursing (NCSBN) is an independent, not-for-profit organization through which nursing regulatory bodies act and counsel together on matters of common interest and concern affecting public health, safety and welfare, including the development of nursing licensure examinations. JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking an experienced test development professional to join our Examinations department. The ideal candidate will bring value to our team by utilizing their knowledge and expertise of licensure/certification exam development processes to provide exam analysis input and assist in developing NCSBN examinations.

Reporting to the Associate Director, Examinations, the Exam Development Manager will have the opportunity to partner with examinations team members to develop processes for the launch of upcoming NCSBN examination products, while having the opportunity to manage NCSBN existing exams processes, such as NNAAP and MACE.

RESPONSIBILITIES
• Participate in managing the exam development processes, working across teams to ensure effective outcomes in statistical analysis in item development (e.g., preliminary item analysis), and facilitate appropriate disposition.
• Lead in conducting practice analysis and knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSA) studies, preparation work (review of literature, logs, interviews, etc.), SME panel facilitation, survey development, review of results, and report development.
• Overall management of NNAAP/MACE and other upcoming projects to ensure the availability of items that meet program specifications.
• Manage Exam Development team assignments and deliverables to ensure broader department and organizational deadlines are met.
• Present and participate in panels (sensitivity, standard setting, etc.), conferences, and committee meetings as required.
• Assists the Associate Director, Examination in the development of research and publication activities.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor’s Degree in psychology, education, testing, or nursing.
• Master’s Degree preferred.
• Minimum 8 years of licensure/certification test development experience.
• Management and leadership experience preferred.
• Research experience preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and have demonstrated ability to present material to and facilitate various groups.
• Strong project management and analytical skills.
• Strong verbal and communication skills.
• Windows-general; E-mail-general; Excel-general; PowerPoint-intermediate/advanced; Word-intermediate/advanced.
• Strong collaboration, time management and multi-tasking skills.

Responsibilities
