WARN also co-chairs the Washington Advisory Committee on Trafficking (WashACT), a Western Washington task force bringing together a multidisciplinary group of agencies engaged in the local response to human trafficking. WashACT seeks to ensure that victims of trafficking receive all resources available to them and that human traffickers are identified, investigated, and prosecuted to the utmost extent of the law.
The WARN Training and Outreach Specialist will build awareness of the issue of human trafficking, WARN’s services, and WashACT through the development and provision of training and outreach; support WashACT’s work by assisting with task force meetings and follow-up activities; manage the onboarding of new task force members and annual task force membership renewal; and contribute to program data entry and collection.
Major Responsibilities:
On behalf of WashACT and WARN, respond to requests for, coordinate, and provide training, presentations, and outreach efforts to community groups, service providers, law enforcement, and other interested groups to raise awareness and increase identification of victims of all forms of human trafficking from a multi-disciplinary perspective
Support team to develop collaborate approach to training facilitation
Maintain WARN and WashACT’s social media channels and websites
Produce WashACT outreach materials, including monthly member spotlights, website content, and task force reports
Coordinate regular WashACT information sessions: schedule and advertise the sessions and follow up with interested individuals about task force membership
Process WashACT membership applications and onboard new members
