Required Qualifications:

The Department of Population Health and Leadership in the School of Health Sciences at the University of New Haven is seeking to hire a Lecturer of Health Sciences and Director of the Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences program. Preferred areas of specialization include bioethics, law and public health, global health, health analytics, epidemiology, and/or biostatistics. This is a position to be filled for Fall 2023.

This position will support the B.S. in Health Sciences program. The B.S. in Health Sciences program combines an understanding of biological sciences, humanities, and social sciences with healthcare industry-specific knowledge, networks, and practical experiences. Students can select from one of three concentrations: General, Pre-Speech Language Pathology, and Pre-Occupational Therapy. Several B.S. in Health Sciences students also enroll in dual degree and fast-track programs. Many students interested in the pre-health professions are supported by the University’s Health Professions Advising Center, as well as a dedicated internship coordinator. The program was launched in Fall 2017 and has quickly grown to an enrollment of over 130 students. The Department is also home to an undergraduate program in public health, as well as graduate programs in healthcare administration, public health, and a doctorate of health sciences.

The School of Health Sciences offers a vibrant and diverse clinical and research atmosphere where academic and clinical faculty provide students with the highest level of professional training in the classroom and in the community setting. The School of Health Sciences has strong relationships with multiple health systems and public health entities in the southern New England region that provide ample opportunities for research, community partnerships, and other collaborations. The School of Health Sciences offers degrees at the bachelors, masters, and doctoral levels.

Responsibilities: The successful candidate will be expected to teach 5-6 courses (15-18 credits) per academic year at the undergraduate level, manage operations and academic affairs for the B.S. in Health Sciences program, build and maintain professional relationships and internship offerings, collaborate on interdisciplinary initiatives, advise and mentor undergraduate students in the program, serve on departmental-, college- and university-level committees, and other duties as assigned.

GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES:

The Associate Director of Admissions will represent the University to recruit prospective students and will be responsible for guiding prospective students through the admissions process from initial contact through the students’ enrollment at the University. GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES:

The University of New Haven’s Director of Payroll & Student Employment serves as the primary manager for the Payroll and Student Employment Offices. This position is responsible for and accountable for directing the in-house payroll function and the time management systems for the University. This manager will direct and participate in the preparation of the weekly and semi-monthly payrolls for faculty, staff and students. Ensuring compliance with all Federal and State laws as well as compliance with Union Bargaining Agreements is of vital importance.

MAJOR ROLES & RESPONSIBILTIES:
• Hands on management of the Payroll Department, supervising two to three administrative staff members.
• Hands on management of the Student Employment Office (SEO), supervising two to three administrative staff members.
• Responsible for development, maintenance and compliance of payroll and SEO policies and procedures.
• Provides strategic leadership for Payroll operations while measuring and monitoring the effectiveness and efficiencies of the services provided.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Human Resources or related field, and a minimum of eight (8) years of experience in a senior level payroll manager position required. At least five (5) years of supervisory experience, preferably in payroll, are also required.
