What you'll do
• Contribute to the planning, direction, and coordination of all accounting and reporting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable tax, payroll, equity accounting, treasury, and consolidation activities
• Responsible for the month-end closing process, including account/variance analysis and reconciliation
• Provide oversight for accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems ensuring compliance with appropriate US GAAP, SEC, and regulatory requirements
• Participate in regulatory reporting, including tax planning and compliance across various jurisdictions, both US and foreign tax filings
• Partner with the FP&A team on the annual budget, monthly forecast, various expense analytics and other internal reporting activities
• Help to ensure New Relic financial statements comply with US GAAP and SEC requirements
• Assist with the drafting and/or review of technical accounting positions and policy memos as necessary
• Stay current on the latest FASB, AICPA, and SEC guidance
• Help to coordinate annual financial statement audits with external auditors, both domestic and international
• Participate in the development and maintenance of internal control documentation
• Help drive the identification of inefficiencies and opportunities for process improvement, optimize the ERP and other accounting systems and tools, and help lead the implementation of best practices for all the accounting processes to scale the team
• Partner effectively with management team, FP&A, and business to provide advice on financial implications of business activities
• Own resolution of accounting questions/issues including adoption of new accounting standards as necessary
• Develop a culture of continuous improvement in the accounting function and support the culture of New Relic, providing assistance and direction as required to improve effectiveness and overall performance

This role requires
• Bachelor of Science in Accounting or Finance
• Active Certified Public Accountant credentials
• 10+ years of progressive experience in senior accounting leadership roles at some combination of public companies, late-stage startups, and/or public accounting firms
• Hands on experience with NetSuite or equivalent ERP, Coupa, Workiva, Xactly, and Blackline
• Strong analytical and solid technical accounting skills, including ability to independently analyze transactions and contracts and document the related accounting analysis under US GAAP and SEC guidance
• Exemplary interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills as demonstrated by the ability to land complex concepts across multiple audiences
• Ability to work cross-functionally to scale processes and support business needs
• Ability to both see the big picture and dive into the details
• Proven track record managing, developing, and leading remote/distributed teams across different time zones

What you'll do
• Establish a vision for the best-in-class Kubernetes observability offering. Help develop product strategy for New Relic Kubernetes Observability, informed by customer and market insights, competition, technical capability, and internal programs/assets.
• In collaboration with Engineering, define a strategic, data-driven product roadmap based on the company strategy
• Own the product lifecycle for key product development – from requirements definition, to delivery, to end of life
• Establish business metrics and key customer/market research questions and engage with research to collect key customer insights to decide on optimization or new product development. Maintain an active view of key competitors and their anticipated next moves. Deeply engage other parts of the team in this process.
• Collaborate with Sales Management, Marketing, Finance, and other relevant teams to provide the market context and key drivers that feed the revenue forecast and longer-term outlook and TAM.
• Serve as key ambassador for the business, delivering clear, compelling communications up and across New Relic and outside the company to position your product for success and garner any support required to successfully execute our roadmap.

This role requires
• 8+ years of Product Management experience or equivalent experience
• Experience with cloud native technologies such as Kubernetes, Prometheus, OpenTelemetry, Fluentbit ,and other CNCF projects
• Ability to analyze data and use it to prioritize developer happiness
• Skilled at deriving measurable outcomes from ambiguity based on deep understanding of the Kubernetes observability and developer market.
• Effective at delivering in a high-growth environment with shifting priorities
• Excellent written and verbal communication
• History of defining strategy, completing a plan, anticipating risk, and leading discussion via frequent, clear communication, both internally and externally with customers.

Bonus points if you have
• Experience leading a monitoring product.
