Specifically focused on the transactional execution of requisitions related to services and maintenance material, vendor inquiries, inventory transactions, in compliance with department and university guidelines. Specific Responsibilities
• As a senior member of a regional team, manages a geographic admissions territory within the United States; develops recruitment strategy and designs fall recruitment plan to meet University enrollment goals and University strategic plan.
• Coordinates and executes 4–5 weeks of regional recruitment activities annually, visiting high schools, conducting information sessions, leading digital panels, etc.
• Delegates and manages recruitment activities of other admission officers on the regional team.
• Builds and maintains productive relationships with college counselors and community-based organizations in support of recruitment initiatives.

Job Summary
As a member of our Admissions Outreach and Access Team, this role will lead rural student recruitment efforts, developing and executing an annual rural-student recruitment plan, liaising with partner institutions as well as internal and external stakeholders seeking to support college access for rural students, hiring and supervising an undergraduate student team with a rural-outreach focus, and leading the full Admissions team in rural-student outreach and selection strategy. Serving as a senior member of a regional admissions team, you will also oversee recruitment strategy and file review in a domestic territory, manage a team of application readers for that region, and provide nuanced counseling to students, families, and college advisors/counselors. You will join a collaborative, student-centered staff who celebrate innovative approaches in higher ed, and who find joy and pride in admissions work.

Specific Responsibilities
• As a senior member of a regional team, manages a geographic admissions territory within the United States; develops recruitment strategy and designs fall recruitment plan to meet University enrollment goals and University strategic plan.
• Coordinates and executes 4–5 weeks of regional recruitment activities annually, visiting high schools, conducting information sessions, leading digital panels, etc.
• Delegates and manages recruitment activities of other admission officers on the regional team.
• Builds and maintains productive relationships with college counselors and community-based organizations in support of recruitment initiatives.
• Tracks, evaluates, and reports relevant recruitment statistics.
• Leads on-campus information sessions as on-duty director in visitors center on rotational basis.
• Answers student/family queries by phone, email, and in person.
• Oversees the evaluation of over 3,000 applications per year.
• Trains and manages other readers on the team.

Job Summary
The Director of Employer Recruitment and Engagement supervises all aspects of a comprehensive, student-centered, employer relations program including outreach, on- and off- campus recruiting, marketing, social media, and technology. The director increases visibility of Northwestern in key industries and optimizes the recruiting experience for employers and alumni as they seek talented Northwestern undergraduate and graduate students; leads an employer relations team of 7 staff members as they offer guidance to recruiters and alumni designed to improve their recruiting strategies. The director develops recruiting policies for campus-wide events including fairs, info sessions, on-campus interviewing and career education programs balancing the needs of students and employer partners.
The Director of Employer Recruitment and Engagement supervises three pods of operations, advising, and employer outreach staff members. They lead staff in their professional development and awareness of industry trends and discussions with recruiters about talent needs; coordinate the sharing of this knowledge with NCA and the Northwestern community.
They provide expertise in the strategic implementation of technology platforms, including Handshake, to scale services both for NCA and for other career services offices. The director coordinates the implementation innovative, active, and creative marketing with social media platforms as a method of publicity, positive communication, and outreach to students, employers, alumni, and campus partners.

Job Summary
The Director of Employer Recruitment and Engagement supervises all aspects of a comprehensive, student-centered, employer relations program including outreach, on- and off- campus recruiting, marketing, social media, and technology. The director increases visibility of Northwestern in key industries and optimizes the recruiting experience for employers and alumni as they seek talented Northwestern undergraduate and graduate students; leads an employer relations team of 7 staff members as they offer guidance to recruiters and alumni designed to improve their recruiting strategies. The director develops recruiting policies for campus-wide events including fairs, info sessions, on-campus interviewing and career education programs balancing the needs of students and employer partners.
The Director of Employer Recruitment and Engagement supervises three pods of operations, advising, and employer outreach staff members. They lead staff in their professional development and awareness of industry trends and discussions with recruiters about talent needs; coordinate the sharing of this knowledge with NCA and the Northwestern community.
They provide expertise in the strategic implementation of technology platforms, including Handshake, to scale services both for NCA and for other career services offices. The director coordinates the implementation innovative, active, and creative marketing with social media platforms as a method of publicity, positive communication, and outreach to students, employers, alumni, and campus partners.
Principal Accountabilities
Relationships 30%
• Leads the strategic direction in regard to employer recruitment; identifies key stakeholders and influencers within employers and other organizations; creates and nurtures mutually beneficial relationships between internal units and employers that support programs and activities and meets career objectives.
• Meets with key hiring personnel of current and potential employers of students and graduates to strengthen school-employer partnerships; identify potential employment opportunities; and improve University's reputation and visibility.
• Consults with employers on the best way to facilitate employment of students; how to navigate the institution and partner with different units of the school.
• Manages relationships with schools and other campus units with the school or within student affairs
Administration 10%
• Partners with key internal/external stakeholders regarding the student experience; drives innovation and expansion of current resources and services; identifies and implements opportunities for distinctiveness in resource service delivery.
• Oversees and ensures that day-to-day operations are appropriately managed, efficient and effective.
• Leads integration of department strategic plan into the school or divisional strategic plan; ensures that resources are created or obtained.
• Manages customer service; creates associated practices and procedures and metrics to measure success.
Programs/Events 10%
• Develops, plans and implements strategies, goals and approach for programs collaborating with internal/external partners to ensure that events are implemented and meet or exceed planned goals.
• Determines goals, objectives, outcome measurements and metrics, financial feasibility, marketing strategies and collaboration opportunities with other internal and external organizations.
• Oversees cross-university recruiting events and activities.
Technology 10%
• Directs the review of existing technology and leads research that develops systems and associated processes that provide state-of-the-art resources and services to students
• Leads exploration and vision related to scalable technology solutions designed to build a more effective and efficient support environment for students.
• Examines the opportunity to integrate technology across the school or university.
Supervision 10%
• Supervises 2-4 staff.
Marketing/Public Relations 5%
• Oversees the development of a state-of-the-art marketing/public relations plan using a multi-faceted approach which leverages new technologies and generational changes and expectations to ensure that students, employers and organizations are aware of resources and services.
• Directs the implementation of innovative marketing/ public relations strategies; targets audiences using appropriate technology; and oversees the creation of marketing materials that increase awareness and value of resources and services.
• Serves as a spokesperson, internally and externally regarding resources and services and changing market/economic conditions.
Accounting/Budgets 5%
• With Alumni Relations and Development, implements fundraising strategies.
• Increases resources through employer fees or alumni gifts including managing the corporate sponsorship program
Advising/Counseling 5%
• Connects students with alumni and professionals for employment opportunities.
• Maintains knowledge of job market trends and hiring practices in a range of fields.
Evaluation 5%
• Assesses programs and recommends changes that will innovate and invigorate program including cutting edge developments in the field and changes to better meet students and external partners' needs in order to achieve goals.

Human Resources
• Initiates full range of HR actions such as new employee dept orientation for undergraduate student workers.
• Drafts job descriptions, as it relates to student research roles within the department.
• Explains HR procedures.
Coordinations
• Manages supervisor's and/or dept calendar.
• Manages registration and travel.
• Organizes and coordinates events which may include creating timelines.
• Collects agenda items and background materials.
• Coordinates complex itineraries involving domestic and/or international travel, etc.
• Prepares annual event, conference and/or meeting budget.
• Acts as lead staff member to coordinate course planning, term class coordination, scheduling courses and class necessities, such as CAESAR requirements, book orders, syllabi collection.
• Coordinate with the Director of Honors for all programing and program requirement, along with scheduling and coordinating faculty committees .
• Regularly work with the Associate Chair for course planning and problem solving.
• Regularly work with the Director of Undergraduate Studies, a faculty position, for ongoing programmatic planning.
• When faculty leadership rotates, provides ongoing transition support and guidance to new faculty leaders (Associate Chair, DUS and DOH)

Student Services

Minimum Qualifications
• A high school diploma or its equivalent along with 4 years of administrative support experience is required.

Develops and contributes to annual assessment reports and documents to track and communicate progress on issues relating to diversity and inclusion.
Recruitment Identifies specific opportunities to increase the diversity of the population of students who apply to and are admitted to Northwestern graduate programs. Represents Northwestern University at various programming and recruitment events hosted by HBCUs, HSIs, and other minority-serving institutions and organizations, including national conferences such as SACNAS and ABRCMS. Directs, delivers, and oversees outreach and recruitment presentations for prospective underrepresented graduate students at various universities, colleges, conferences, and symposia.
Partners with the Office of Postdoctoral Affairs to recruit, support, and retain BIPOC and marginalized postdoctoral trainees and manage a mentoring network. Communication and Outreach Serves as the ODI representative for University-wide diversity groups and initiatives as determined by the Associate Dean of Diversity and Inclusion. Directs and oversees the development and distribution of ODI e-newsletters and promotional materials in partnership with the Communications & Engagement team.

Liaises with various campus partners and units to foster and support a strong and consistent graduate student and postdoctoral support network.
Provides and distributes inclusive pedagogy resources for graduate students and postdoctoral trainees who are teaching assistants and instructors to uphold intentional, inclusive, and anti-racist teaching practices. Partners with the Bias Incident Response Team (BIRT) and the Office of Equity when a TGS student or postdoctoral trainee reports a bias/hate incident. Works with the University's Office of Institutional Diversity and Inclusion (OIDI) to create and implement University-wide standards and centralized strategies for accountability among graduate faculty and students.
Supervision Supervises 2 full-time employees, an SROP co-director postdoctoral trainee, and 5 graduate student diversity fellow interns. Budget and Financial Helps the Associate Dean manage the annual ODI budget that supports a broad range of diversity and inclusion programs and initiatives; ensures spending remains within the allocated amount and in accordance with University guidelines. Directs and oversees the annual enhanced funding/fellowship nomination and selection process and allocates financial awards in partnership with the Associate Dean of Diversity and Inclusion and other graduate school partners.
Identifies external funding sources and opportunities to create and develop programming that supports graduate students and postdoctoral trainees from underrepresented groups. Seeks extramural funding for academic pipeline and summer research programs and develops proposals for extramural agencies to provide support. Miscellaneous Performs other duties as assigned.
