Job Description
PURPOSE: Metrology Technician position supporting the operations and development of the NREL Metrology Laboratory by providing routine maintenance and calibration of measurement and test equipment, and providing administrative support in compliance with NREL’s Metrology Laboratory policies and procedures.
• DUTIES: Performs routine maintenance and calibration of test instruments under direct supervision of scientific and technical staff. Maintains a safe, clean, and organized operating environment in accordance with NREL’s safety policies and procedures. Assists senior technical staff with experimental set up, including soldering, cabling, and wiring data acquisition instruments. Contributes to the development and maintenance of the metrology operations database. Perform general metrology laboratory administration, including equipment purchases, calibration due notification, receive/accept incoming MTE, inspect incoming MTE, schedule MTE for calibration, update calibration database, file MTE calibration reports, and coordinate the return of MTE to owner.
• Work Schedule: Standard 40-hour workweek, Monday through Friday. Typical work hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m with some flexibility, occasional overtime and weekend work is required.
Preferred Qualifications: Familiar with ISO 17025 accreditation and Fluke’s Asset Management and Calibration Software.

High School Diploma or equivalent and 7 or more years of experience or equivalent relevant education/experience. Or, relevant Associate's Degree or certification program of comparable scope and 5 or more years of experience or equivalent relevant education/experience. Full knowledge of specialized focused support functions. • Effective computer skills for document generation, basic data analysis tools, and basic data acquisition.

The Data Application Group is a multi-disciplinary collection of UX Designers, Researchers, Product Managers, and Software Engineers: we care about producing useful software that facilitates a clean energy transition. The National Renewable Energy Laboratory’s (NREL’s) Strategic Energy Analysis Center is seeking a Researcher who is familiar with agrivoltaic systems and energy-land-water nexus tradeoffs.
A Researcher I/Researcher II position is available in the National Renewable Energy Laboratory's (NREL) Strategic Energy Analysis Center in our Golden, Colorado office. NREL is the nation's primary laboratory for research, development and deployment of renewable energy and energy efficiency technologies. The analyst will join the Impacts Analysis Group in NREL’s Strategic Energy Analysis Center ( www.nrel.gov/analysis ) and work closely with researchers who assess tradeoffs and synergies of agricultural and solar energy generation systems through the Department of Energy’s InSPIRE project ( https://openei.org/wiki/InSPIRE ).
The analyst will support project tasks related to tracking agrivoltaic projects across the country; identifying and contributing to research priorities; collecting data and performing analyses related to agrivoltaic project performance and costs; agrivoltaic model development; facilitating conversations across diverse sets of stakeholders; performing fieldwork and research at agrivoltaics sites; and conducting outreach to a wide array of audiences.
