Job Description
PURPOSE: Metrology Technician position supporting the operations and development of the NREL Metrology Laboratory by providing routine maintenance and calibration of measurement and test equipment, and providing administrative support in compliance with NREL’s Metrology Laboratory policies and procedures.
• DUTIES: Performs routine maintenance and calibration of test instruments under direct supervision of scientific and technical staff. Maintains a safe, clean, and organized operating environment in accordance with NREL’s safety policies and procedures. Assists senior technical staff with experimental set up, including soldering, cabling, and wiring data acquisition instruments. Contributes to the development and maintenance of the metrology operations database. Perform general metrology laboratory administration, including equipment purchases, calibration due notification, receive/accept incoming MTE, inspect incoming MTE, schedule MTE for calibration, update calibration database, file MTE calibration reports, and coordinate the return of MTE to owner.
• Work Schedule: Standard 40-hour workweek, Monday through Friday. Typical work hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m with some flexibility, occasional overtime and weekend work is required.
Preferred Qualifications: Familiar with ISO 17025 accreditation and Fluke’s Asset Management and Calibration Software.

Basic Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent and 7 or more years of experience or equivalent relevant education/experience. Or, relevant Associate's Degree or certification program of comparable scope and 5 or more years of experience or equivalent relevant education/experience. Full knowledge of specialized focused support functions. Complete acquaintance with and understanding of the general and detailed aspects of the supported activities, and their practical applications to problems and situations ordinarily encountered. Proficient in research techniques and practices. Solid communication, interpersonal, project management and customer relations skills.
• Must meet educational requirements prior to employment start date.
Additional Required Qualifications
• Associate's degree in electrical engineering plus metrology training, or Military training (Precision Measurement Equipment Laboratory-PMEL, or similar).
• Two to five years of bench-level calibration experience, including electrical/electronic instruments, temperature/humidity probes, pressure transducers, and scales.
• Demonstrated technical knowledge of metrology practices, calibration procedure development, and test instruments (especially multifunction calibrators, oscilloscopes, digital multi-meters and general-purpose test instruments).
• Demonstrated exceptional interpersonal and communication (verbal and written) skills.
• Effective computer skills for document generation, basic data analysis tools, and basic data acquisition.
• Ability to interpret and develop electronic circuits.
• Capable of routinely lifting 70 lbs.
• Exhibits attention to detail with high levels of innovation, initiative and integrity.
• Must have (or be able to obtain) and maintain a valid Colorado driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.

Job Description
The Data Application Group in NREL’s Strategic Energy Analysis Center is seeking a Product Owner/Manager. The Data Application Group is a multi-disciplinary collection of UX Designers, Researchers, Product Managers, and Software Engineers: we care about producing useful software that facilitates a clean energy transition. Product plays an integral part of our software development process by advocating and being empathetic toward our users, and always looking for ways to improve their experience. The climate is rapidly changing, we are looking for people to join our team to help the world make more informed decisions with the applications we build.

The Data Application Group in NREL’s Strategic Energy Analysis Center is seeking a Product Owner/Manager. The Data Application Group is a multi-disciplinary collection of UX Designers, Researchers, Product Managers, and Software Engineers: we care about producing useful software that facilitates a clean energy transition. Product plays an integral part of our software development process by advocating and being empathetic toward our users, and always looking for ways to improve their experience. A Researcher I/Researcher II position is available in the National Renewable Energy Laboratory's (NREL) Strategic Energy Analysis Center in our Golden, Colorado office. NREL is the nation's primary laboratory for research, development and deployment of renewable energy and energy efficiency technologies. Job Description
NREL’s Site Operations group is looking for senior Facilities Manager to oversee all facility-related activities, primarily for landlord-type facilities like office buildings, conference/educational facilities, and parking structures. Responsibilities include collaborating with researchers, program managers, technicians, engineers, and environmental safety and health personnel for activities conducted within buildings, conducting plan of the week meetings with stakeholders, ensuring that facilities are safe and functioning well, resolving issues received from building occupants, well-versed in technical/engineering operations and facilities management best practices, inspecting buildings’ structures to determine repairs or renovations. Also support facility manager duties at industrial-type facilities like laboratory buildings, computing facilities, or central utility plants. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and organizational/leadership skills are preferred. Responsibilities include:
• Planning building maintenance and operational programs
• Ensuring efficiency of all building systems
• Coordinating site safety programs
• Preparing operating reports and budgets
• Ensuring all processes and compliance programs are met
• Managing facilities planning and space allocation
• Coordinating with department heads and building contractors
• Ensuring all utility systems are inspected and in accordance with regulations
• Overseeing all building functions
• Coordinating all maintenance issues and schedules

Job Description
NREL’s Cell and Module Performance (CMP) group is internationally recognized for providing the highest level of accredited, traceable calibrations for any and all types of photovoltaic (PV) cells and modules. We are constantly pushing the boundaries of PV measurement science. The successful candidate will work with senior CMP scientists, engineers and technicians to realize new measurement techniques and hardware. The work will focus on carrying out PV performance tests for internal and external customers and on developing new and improved measurement methods for PV cells and modules.

Basic Qualifications
Relevant Master's Degree . Or, relevant Bachelor's Degree and 2 or more years of experience . General knowledge and application of scientific technical standards, principles, theories, concepts and techniques. Training in team, task or project leadership responsibilities. Intermediate abilities and knowledge of practices and techniques. Beginning experience in project management. Good technical writing, interpersonal and communication skills.

Additional Required Qualifications
• Highly motivated, self-starting, eager to learn new skills, and comfortable working alone or as part of a project team.
• Experience with use, development, and programming of instrumentation for semiconductor characterization and especially for solar cell testing.
• Detail oriented, safety minded, strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Experience with measurement software such as Labview is a big plus.
• Very good writing, interpersonal, and communication skills are essential.
• Good judgment, clear sense of purpose and personal responsibility.

NREL has a full-time opening for an Analytical Technician to participate in process research and development activities within the Catalytic Carbon Transformation and Scaleup Center by supporting research to develop, improve, integrate, scale up, and demonstrate unit operations involved in converting lignocellulosic biomass (fibrous plant matter) to liquid transportation fuels or chemical intermediates. The successful candidate will assist in the day-to-day experimental studies in biomass thermal conversion, including configuring and operating advanced analytical equipment.

Job Description
This position is a Business Support Professional (BSP) in the Accelerated Deployment and Decision Support Center (ADDS) within the Energy Systems Integration Directorate of the National Renewable Energy Laboratory. The BSP is a member of a center-wide support team, contributing to the overall needs of all ADDS staff. The BSP collaborates with the ADDS business support team to serve the needs of the center. Concentrated support of a specific manager and group is also required. The job involves both routine business support assignments and non-routine or special assignments. Job Description
This position is a Business Support Professional (BSP) in the Accelerated Deployment and Decision Support Center (ADDS) within the Energy Systems Integration Directorate of the National Renewable Energy Laboratory. The BSP is a member of a center-wide support team, contributing to the overall needs of all ADDS staff. The BSP collaborates with the ADDS business support team to serve the needs of the center. Job Description
NREL is seeking a full-time Energy Finance Expert for the Project Development and Finance (PD&F) Group in the Accelerated Deployment and Decision Support (ADDS) Center. The mission of the PD&F Group is to partner with clients with ambitious energy goals and support project development, financing, and execution. The PD&F Group aids its clients in making sound investment decisions in clean energy technologies through unbiased strategic advisory, business case assessment, transaction-level support, financing, contracting, and market intelligence.
The successful candidate will apply a deep understanding of project development and finance related to clean energy technologies such as renewable electricity and heat, weatherization and energy efficiency, energy storage, and/or microgrid project financing mechanisms, domestic acquisition regulations, and general energy project development fundamentals for domestic energy projects.
Knowledge and experience in the following will support a candidate’s successful application: power purchase agreements, utility energy service contracts, private finance mobilization, low-emission energy and financing development, and net energy metering and billing. The successful candidate will demonstrate advanced understanding and application of project management principles, concepts, practices, and standards. The candidate should have experience engaging with communities, including potential disadvantaged groups and should have solid working knowledge of energy justice considerations.
The candidate will support and guide projects throughout the project implementation process, with a focus on the procurement contracting and financing. Knowledge of domestic tax credits and U.S. tax law, and financing incentives, markets, and policies will be important for success in this position. The candidate will also identify and respond directly to procurement and technical assistance needs and will coordinate with the appropriate technical resources within the lab.

• Oversee and guide technical, financial, and contractual work, resources, and projects.

• Identify cost-effective opportunities to save energy, use distributed energy and that also improve energy resilience for a variety of clients.

• Develop and lead webinars, conference presentations, and other trainings as needed.

Job Description
NREL is seeking a full-time Energy Finance Expert for the Project Development and Finance (PD&F) Group in the Accelerated Deployment and Decision Support (ADDS) Center. The mission of the PD&F Group is to partner with clients with ambitious energy goals and support project development, financing, and execution. The PD&F Group aids its clients in making sound investment decisions in clean energy technologies through unbiased strategic advisory, business case assessment, transaction-level support, financing, contracting, and market intelligence.
The successful candidate will apply a deep understanding of project development and finance related to clean energy technologies such as renewable electricity and heat, weatherization and energy efficiency, energy storage, and/or microgrid project financing mechanisms, domestic acquisition regulations, and general energy project development fundamentals for domestic energy projects.
Knowledge and experience in the following will support a candidate’s successful application: power purchase agreements, utility energy service contracts, private finance mobilization, low-emission energy and financing development, and net energy metering and billing. The successful candidate will demonstrate advanced understanding and application of project management principles, concepts, practices, and standards. The candidate should have experience engaging with communities, including potential disadvantaged groups and should have solid working knowledge of energy justice considerations.
The candidate will support and guide projects throughout the project implementation process, with a focus on the procurement contracting and financing. Knowledge of domestic tax credits and U.S. tax law, and financing incentives, markets, and policies will be important for success in this position. The candidate will also identify and respond directly to procurement and technical assistance needs and will coordinate with the appropriate technical resources within the lab.

• Develop and lead webinars, conference presentations, and other trainings as needed.

Job Description
The National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) in Golden, Colorado, is the nation's primary laboratory for research, development, and deployment of renewable energy and energy efficiency technologies. The NREL mission is to develop renewable energy and energy efficient technologies and practices, advance related science and engineering, and transfer knowledge and innovation to address the nation’s energy and environmental goals. The Renewable Resources and Enabling Sciences Center at NREL has an opening for a full time Fermentation Technician within the Synthetic Biology and Bioconversion Group.
The successful candidate will work in multiple projects to conduct bioprocess development in bioreactors in a large multi-laboratory team for the production of renewable fuels and chemicals from biomass-derived sugars and lignin. The specific role will require aerobic and anaerobic cultivations with various bacterial strains from 1 mL to 150-L scales, integrated with systems biology studies, to improve titer, rate, yield, and other relevant bioprocess parameters. Certain experimental campaigns will be designed in close collaboration with molecular biologists and computational biologists to maximize to the useful output from each bioreactor cultivation campaign.
The successful candidate will have the ability to conduct laboratory experiments with minimal supervision and with the utmost regard to safety, as well as the ability to learn new techniques and protocols.

• Execute research in collaboration with other researchers
• Deliver scientific data effectively, both in written and oral formats, and

Job Description
The Communities and Urban Sciences Research Group at NREL conducts leading research on the integration of systems for optimized energy consumption, generation, and storage in the built environment at multiple scales. Our research focuses on efficiency, decarbonization, resiliency, and affordability of energy systems across the United States and the world. We have an immediate opening for a Researcher III or IV with analyst and consulting experience in the areas of building and community systems modeling and energy analytics.
The successful applicant will be responsible for research-level energy analyses, with a focus on whole building and building stock research relevant to the commercial buildings sector. Work will consist primarily of using energy modeling and analysis with EnergyPlus, OpenStudio, and ComStock datasets to develop a deeper understanding of affordable decarbonization strategies for utilities and communities. The successful applicant will work collaboratively with diverse group of researchers to develop leading solutions that support broad deployment of solutions that allow buildings and communities to implement decarbonization strategies and to operate as efficient, grid-integrated resources. The hired candidate will be expected to pursue new research opportunities, develop and publish relevant analysis outcomes, and must be comfortable working across teams to remove uncertainty from project requirements and build consensus around outcomes.

Basic Qualifications
Relevant PhD and 4 or more years of experience . Or, relevant Master's Degree and 7 or more years of experience . Or, relevant Bachelor's Degree and 9 or more years of experience . Demonstrated in-depth knowledge of laws, regulations, principles, procedures and practices related to specific field. Excellent leadership, communication, problem solving and project management skills. Ability to use various computer software programs.
