Official Position Description
Supervises lower-level custodial workers/staff performing custodial duties (e.g., cleaning offices, lobbies, hallways & rest rooms); schedules & prioritizes staff assignments & work orders (e.g., verbal & written); trains new employees on proper cleaning procedures & in use of cleaning equipment; conducts inspections of areas for cleanliness, health & safety hazards, odors & pest control to assure compliance with standards; conducts staff meetings to disseminate policies & safety procedures; ensures staff complies with policies & health/safety procedures; evaluates employee performance & takes appropriate action.
Prepares, orders & maintains inventory of cleaning supplies & equipment (e.o., contacts minority vendors/vendors by phone, fax, e-mail &/or mail to place orders & obtain pricing information); prepares &/or approves supply requisitions completed by staff; provides financial data to supervisor for annual budget preparation; maintains & tracks custodial section budget; logs state debit card purchases of supplies & equipment; maintains & monitors staff attendance records (e.g., employee hours worked & sign-in/sign- out log, leave requests); completes & submits reports (e.g., monthly activity; inspection; safety data sheets, inventory, supply usage); prepares & maintains accurate files & records; makes policy &/or procedure recommendations related to housekeeping section/unit; operates personal computer to enter & retrieve data.

ODNR owns and manages state parks, state forests, state nature preserves and wildlife areas. We license all hunting, fishing and watercraft; oversee and permit all mineral extraction, monitor dam safety, manage water resources and serve as the second largest Law Enforcement presence in the State of Ohio.
We are accepting applications for an GIMS Data Base Administrator within the Division of Geological Survey, headquartered in Franklin County within the state of Ohio. What You Will Do…
• Plan, implement, maintain, and enhance geologic and geospatial databases for the Division of Geological Survey.
• Develop and enforce digital data standards (e.g. GeMS) impacting geologic data capture, metadata, and database design.
• Provide technical assistance and advice to Division of Geological Survey administrators and staff.
• Investigate and implement new technical advancements related to geospatial data capture, storage, and manipulation.
• Write grant proposals and reports regarding geologic and geospatial programs.

Completion of a graduate core program in computer science to include data structures, data base, and information management & data base systems AND 18 months of training or 18 months of experience in use of projections, coordinate systems, and map algebra in operations of geographic information systems AND 6 months of training or 6 months of experience in employee training and development AND 4 courses or 12 months of experience in budgeting.
