ODNR owns and manages state parks, state forests, state nature preserves and wildlife areas. We license all hunting, fishing and watercraft; oversee and permit all mineral extraction, monitor dam safety, manage water resources and serve as the second largest Law Enforcement presence in the State of Ohio.
We are accepting applications for an GIMS Data Base Administrator within the Division of Geological Survey, headquartered in Franklin County within the state of Ohio. What You Will Do…
• Plan, implement, maintain, and enhance geologic and geospatial databases for the Division of Geological Survey.
• Develop and enforce digital data standards (e.g. GeMS) impacting geologic data capture, metadata, and database design.
• Provide technical assistance and advice to Division of Geological Survey administrators and staff.
• Investigate and implement new technical advancements related to geospatial data capture, storage, and manipulation.
• Write grant proposals and reports regarding geologic and geospatial programs.

Completion of a graduate core program in computer science to include data structures, data base, and information management & data base systems AND 18 months of training or 18 months of experience in use of projections, coordinate systems, and map algebra in operations of geographic information systems AND 6 months of training or 6 months of experience in employee training and development AND 4 courses or 12 months of experience in budgeting.
• OR completion of undergraduate core program in computer science to include data structures, data base, and information management & data base systems AND 24 months of training or 24 months of experience in use of projections, coordinate systems, and map algebra in operations of geographic information systems AND 6 months of training or 6 months of experience in employee training & development; 4 courses or 12 mos. exp. in budgeting,
