Official Position Description
Supervises lower-level custodial workers/staff performing custodial duties (e.g., cleaning offices, lobbies, hallways & rest rooms); schedules & prioritizes staff assignments & work orders (e.g., verbal & written); trains new employees on proper cleaning procedures & in use of cleaning equipment; conducts inspections of areas for cleanliness, health & safety hazards, odors & pest control to assure compliance with standards; conducts staff meetings to disseminate policies & safety procedures; ensures staff complies with policies & health/safety procedures; evaluates employee performance & takes appropriate action.
Prepares, orders & maintains inventory of cleaning supplies & equipment (e.o., contacts minority vendors/vendors by phone, fax, e-mail &/or mail to place orders & obtain pricing information); prepares &/or approves supply requisitions completed by staff; provides financial data to supervisor for annual budget preparation; maintains & tracks custodial section budget; logs state debit card purchases of supplies & equipment; maintains & monitors staff attendance records (e.g., employee hours worked & sign-in/sign- out log, leave requests); completes & submits reports (e.g., monthly activity; inspection; safety data sheets, inventory, supply usage); prepares & maintains accurate files & records; makes policy &/or procedure recommendations related to housekeeping section/unit; operates personal computer to enter & retrieve data.
Completes & submits work order requests for maintenance repairs/issues; coordinates & reports major equipment maintenance/repairs & hazardous conditions to appropriate personnel; ensures staff complies with proper disposal of infectious waste established by infection control policies & procedures; reviews & resolves housekeeping complaints, issues & needs from agency staff; performs minor housekeeping duties as needed (e. g., cleans furniture, walls, windows, floors, fixtures, equipment, removes trash/recycling, removes snow/ice/debris from building entrances & walkways).
Inspects & makes minor repairs public facilities (e.g., replaces burned out light bulbs, replaces & tightens screws, replaces belts on sweepers); provides assistance to general public (e.g., answers questions, gives directions); assigns responsibility to & assists in setting up & tearing down (e.g., chairs & tables) for various functions; attends meetings, training, workshops & seminars when necessary.
UNUSUAL WORKING CONDITIONS: Exposed to chemicals in cleaning products; may work evenings; may be exposed to unpleasant weather conditions; may be exposed to human waste; may be exposed to infectious waste.

What You Will Do…
• Plan, implement, maintain, and enhance geologic and geospatial databases for the Division of Geological Survey.
• Develop and enforce digital data standards (e.g. GeMS) impacting geologic data capture, metadata, and database design.

What You’ll Do
Join an elite team of Food Safety staff to protect Ohio's food supply and consumers! ODA is searching for a Food Safety Program Coordinator to be headquartered in central office (Licking County). This position is responsible for:
• Under general direction of the Food Safety Chief and Assistant Chief, coordinates designated state-wide food safety program by coordinating and managing food safety grants
• Maintains oversight of the grant calendar to ensure grantees are meeting required reporting dates, tracks grant expenditures & drawdowns & submits required financial reports to the grantors as required by the grants
• Conducts audit activities & provides technical assistance to grantees. Enters required grant information into the various grant portals (e.g., internal Food Safety database, Federal portals [ERA Commons and Grants.gov])
• Oversees, formulates & implements program policy for recalls & recall tracebacks
• Assists both ODA staff and stakeholders with label reviews (i.e., receive labels either via email or hard copy, review for compliance with FDA regulations/ODA regulations; reply via email to either Food Safety staff or industry)
• Provides technical advice to aid administrators in decision making

The Office of Fiscal and Monitoring Services’ (OFMS) Fiscal Services Division is responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring all of the Agency's budget activities. This encompasses the biennial budget process, annual budget implementation, and projecting federal budget estimates. The Division is also responsible for the management of the Agency's revenue, disbursements and financial obligations as well as performing daily federal cash draws, reconciles and reports on federal grant status. The Office of Fiscal and Monitoring Services’ (OFMS) Fiscal Services Division is responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring all of the Agency's budget activities. This encompasses the biennial budget process, annual budget implementation, and projecting federal budget estimates. The Division is also responsible for the management of the Agency's revenue, disbursements and financial obligations as well as performing daily federal cash draws, reconciles and reports on federal grant status. Under direction, supervises budget analysts involved in preparation of the operating budget: plans, directs, and coordinates unit activities with program staff; provides guidance and training to staff to ensure timely and accurate cost allocations, adjustments and related budgetary information; analyzes and reviews various statistical and cost accounting reports for the Bureau of Budget and Cost Management, Office of Fiscal and Monitoring Services; manages the distribution of the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services (ODJFS) administrative costs to the appropriate state or federal program through the application of various cost accounting methodologies; oversees research, analysis and evaluation of data; calculates and applies depreciation costs for ODJFS equipment; uses cost distribution data to determine cost pool funding and monitors cost distribution and spending patterns; projects, formulates, adjusts and monitors allocations for sub-divisions or for certain financial programs, grants and/or item accounts requiring use of statistical/quantitative analysis and monitors spending patterns in order to prevent spending deficits and recommends alternative solutions for areas of concern; supervises staff (e.g., makes recommendations for hire of staff; assigns work and provides direction; reviews work and provides feedback; establishes goals and monitors and evaluates performance; encourages staff development; approves/disapproves leave; conducts staff meetings; recommends disciplinary action).
Edits, revises and reviews ODJFS' Cost Allocation Plan (CAP); reviews written narratives and explanations of costs methodologies for quarterly and annual CAP; interacts with senior staff in program and support offices to identify and implement changes to the CAP; analyzes and reviews cost pool methodologies; formulates new cost pool methodologies when necessary; enters CAP and cost pool data into ODJFS’ web-based cost allocation system; operates personal computer and applicable software applications (e.g., spreadsheets, databases, word processing) to formulate expenditure/cost projections and/or other statistical/quantitative analyses; generates various reports and updates file information; monitors expenditures levels of specific programs or grants; develops, tracks and prepares financial analysis of proposed legislation or policy changes; completes federal reports of estimated and/or actual expenditures; assists with developing ODJFS' biennium budget and evaluates/monitors budget implementation to include periodic reporting to senior management; assists in responding to audit findings.
Reviews and approves requests to move appropriation funds through Ohio Administrative Knowledge System (OAKS) on-line accounting system; develops procedures/guidelines to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations; completes special reports (e.g., cost allocation data summaries, cost pool funding split analysis); evaluates and/or participates in evaluation of budget operations (e.g., technical improvements; automation); prepares and/or reviews projection/forecast models for special projects and/or program areas with multiple funding sources; prepares periodic financial reports; responds to inquiries from federal government officials regarding reports submitted to federal government.
