EXPERIENCED LATERAL CORRECTIONS OFFICER TESTING++

CONTINUOUS TESTING PROCESS

The City of Hoquiam is examining experienced corrections officer applicants for potential employment as a full-time Police Services Officer.

Police Service Officers are responsible for corrections, records and code enforcement functions for the Hoquiam Police Department, primarily within the City Jail.

Lateral Police Services Officer candidates must have attended the Corrections Officer Academy (COA) conducted by the Washington Criminal Justice Training Commission (CJTC), or have completed a similar academy in another state or federal training which is recognized by the CJTC and are eligible to attend the Corrections Officer (Equivalency) Academy.

Employees of the state Department of Corrections who completed CORE training prior to 2008 will already possess a CJTC COA certificate.
