The Application Deployment Manager, reporting to the Director of Applications & Cloud Services, serves as an engineer, and leads a team of engineers whose... responsibilities are focused on the desktop computing environment for the firm and ownership of a subset of firm-wide applications. This includes responsibility for the overall user experience on desktops and laptops, hardware selection, operating system and application deployment, patching, troubleshooting and overall system performance on Windows physical and virtual machines and Macs. Candidates must have a passion for the end user’s experience of technology and a proven track record of strong customer service.
Responsibilities:
• Provision and maintain physical and virtual desktops and applications.
• Manage a fleet of more than 3500 PC’s and Macs in a global environment.
• Install, configure, and deploy new applications, system software, products, and/or enhancements to existing applications throughout the enterprise.
• Lead our desktop management transformation to Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM) with a focus on Intune and Autopilot.
• Monitor desktop performance metrics in order to provide proactive support and performant desktops and laptops using the latest in experience management tools such as NexThink.
• Coach, mentor, motivate and supervise team members and influence them to take positive action and accountability for their assigned work.
• Set performance objectives for team members; develop and deliver performance assessments against these objectives.
• Work collaboratively with leaders in other groups and departments.
• Draft and submit budget recommendations.
• Provide senior technical expertise across a defined set of applications.
• Participate in the On-Call support rotation of the Applications Team. This will require learning Orrick’s core application suite.
• Liaise with software and hardware vendors for prompt rectification of problems.
• Research and make recommendations on software and hardware products and services in support of performant physical and virtual desktops.

Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience required.
• Technical and/or business/project management certifications a plus.
• Six plus years work experience as an application and/or desktop engineer required.
• 4 plus years’ experience with SCCM and/or Intune or a similar technology including application and operating system deployments.
• 4 plus years’ experience with Microsoft Window 11 and Window 10 including upgrading and patching.
• MacOS Experience a big plus.
• Microsoft 365 Office deployment and management experience required.
• Strong Microsoft Active Directory knowledge required.
• Strong Group Policy knowledge required.
• Solid server operating system knowledge.
• Computer hardware fleet management experience a plus.
• Technical and functional knowledge of applications specific to the legal environment a plus.
