As an expert in the field of finance, you tackle complex reconciliations like a boss. You have a masterful knowledge of financial management principles for public and private sector clients. The Fun Stuff: 

This position reports directly to the CFO, and most, if not all, duties will be executed in collaboration. This is not a leadership/management role, but is extremely flexible and a great cultural environment for the right person. Responsibilities include:
• Prepare the month-end and year-end closing process.
• Prepare day-to-day and month-end close entries including revenue, payroll, prepaid expenses, unbilled accounts receivable, and accrued liabilities.
• Reconcile and balance accounts and various other general ledger accounts, as needed.
• Help external auditors and tax accountants with preparing schedules, providing explanations of supporting materials and procedures, and preparing additional data.
• Prepare of year-end 1099 submissions.
• Recommend, design, and implement financial controls and procedures.
• Manage the accuracy and productivity of day-to-day activities of accounts payable, cash disbursements, invoicing/billing, fixed asset records, general accounting, cost and project accounting, etc
• Maintain financial records in support of the government contracting environment, and ensure compliance with FAR, and DCAA regulations
• Review and approve subcontractor and consultant invoices
• Ensure contractual requirements and customer financial deliverables are accurate and on time to include financial Contract Data Requirements (CDRLs)
• Plan for annual direct and indirect cost budgets
• Price for proposal efforts
• Monitor program funding and contract value to ensure funds are in place to continue business activities for the customer
• Engage in subcontractor management including, but not limited to, timesheet management, invoice processing and compiling funding documents
• Develop and maintain an understanding of the accounting operations within each assigned client.



The Necessities: 
• You have a minimum of five (5) years of experience supporting IC or DoD programs
• You are comfortable with Unanet (or similar accounting software) and Microsoft Office applications and responsive to email and phone inquiries.
• You are a “hands-on" professional with a strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• You are able to work in a fast-paced environment, multi-task, and prioritize work effectively
• You have excellent verbal and written communications.
• You are kind, friendly, and approachable.
• Nice to have: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a similar discipline.

Work location is fully remote. Ability to commute to Columbia, Maryland and the surrounding area on an as-needed basis is required.

Job Summary

The Senior Data Analyst will collaborate with colleagues on the Data & Analytics Team to deliver compelling, interactive dashboards and to create and maintain data pipelines derived from external sources. The Senior Data Analyst will work on complex problems related to firm operations, business development, and strategy. The role will interact regularly with business development teams, attorneys, and senior leadership. The Senior Data Analyst is responsible for assisting with the development of data sources, external data pipelines, and compelling dashboards used by firm leadership and clients.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
• Develop and work with models upon which business decisions can be based, such as gap analyses, relationship science, risk analyses, digital analytics, and operational process analyses.
• Translate data into compelling, interactive Power BI dashboards; interpret data results to provide written commentary that articulates pertinent findings.
• Develop and maintain data pipelines from publicly available sources, such as state and federal agencies.
• Leverage disparate, internal, and external data sources to present a comprehensive analysis of the subject in question.
• Collaborate with team members to extract, transform, and load (ETL) data from disparate sources and unify where possible; manipulate, clean, and prepare data for analysis on an ongoing, project-by-project basis.
• Build relationships and collaborate with stakeholders across departments, identifying opportunities to leverage analytics and dashboards to enhance firm strategies and operations.
• Act as product manager for dashboards, reports, and other deliverables, ensuring that feedback from all stakeholders is gathered and leveraged in the ongoing system enhancement process.

Knowledge, Skills And Abilities

• Python and SQL proficiency is strongly preferred; key libraries include requests, beautifulsoup, selenium, scikitlearn, pandas, numpy, and seaborn.
• Familiarity with Foundation, InterAction (or other CRM system), Aderant, Vuture/Marigold, and federal/state agency data sources a plus.
• Intellectual curiosity, creativity, and innovative problem-solving skills.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously while focusing on continuous improvement.

• Demonstrated experience and success with Power BI.
• Experience working with APIs and JSON beneficial.
• Experience with other data visualization and data management platforms (e.g., Alteryx, SQL Server Mgmt. Studio, Azure Data Studio) preferred.
