Recovery Claims Collection Processor

Summary

The Recovery Claims department seeks reimbursement from members of the public who damage PGE's equipment, such as a car hitting a PGE pole or dig-in damage by a contractor. We investigate claims that occur within the distribution system and ensure cost recovery and/or mitigation.

Responsibilities
• Typically specializes in processing or collections but may perform work in both areas.
• Calculates claim amounts including complex claims. Ensures charges are correct.
• Tracks claim payments and identifies/resolves issues.
• Makes collections calls, assigning accounts to outside collections firm as needed.
• Determines resolution of old claims.
• Prepares itemizations, corrects work orders and prepares new ones as needed.
• Performs research and investigation using multiple platforms.
• Develops and maintain reports.
• Collaborate with the Legal Department and many other partners throughout organization on claims.
• Represent the company in depositions, restitution, or other legal matters.

Qualifications

Education Required:
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Experience Required:
• Five or more years working in customer support, customer service or other customer-facing role, preferably in a utility or insurance claims setting or equivalent

Preferred:
• Insurance claims experience
• Working knowledge of PGE territory
• Working knowledge of the fundamentals of electricity and the electrical system.

Summary

The Generation, Transmission and Distribution Project Management Organization (GTD-PMO) encompasses multiple disciplines: Construction Management, Project Controls, Project Services, Program Management and Project Management.

As a Project Controls Analyst, you will support generation, transmission and distribution capital projects by monitoring and controlling costs and scope, developing, maintaining and analyzing project schedules, and supporting the project authorization process. This position requires in-depth knowledge and experience, uses best practices and knowledge of internal or external business issues to improve products or services, solves complex problems; takes a new perspective using existing solutions and works independently, receives minimal guidance.
• This position can be filled as a Project Controls Analyst, P2 or a Sr. Project Controls Analyst, P3. See determining qualifications below.

Responsibilities
• Project Controls Designs and implements project controls to help ensure scheduling, cost control, regulatory, reporting and other project requirements are met. Identifies risks and recommends remediation.
• Project Cost Control Management Develops, monitors, and updates project cash flows on a monthly basis, monitors against corporate budget governance and identifies any scope creep. Ensures costs are accurately reflected in PGEs financial statements, future financing needs for the company are accurately portrayed, and accurate annual cash flow forecasts are provided to Portfolio Management for annual budgeting needs.
• Project Scheduling Develops project schedules with the appropriate level of detail and scope to maximize efficiency, effectiveness and to meet the needs for timely and accurate project development and execution; coordinates and integrates schedules from other organizations supporting the project; works with project workgroups to resolve important and critical material and schedule issues or concerns. Develops and maintains milestone schedules.
• Monitoring Monitors project during all phases to identify real or potential deviations to project plans; identifies scoping changes, analyzes impacts and adjusts project plans accordingly. Communicates variances and works with project/program team to obtain appropriate level change approval as required.
• Project Reporting and Documentation Works with project/program team to ensure coordination of efforts to issue timely, accurate project reports on project schedules, costs, problems, risks and other significant issues; develops and provides information, reports and presentations to key stakeholders and other company entities.
• Metrics Develops project metrics or operational performance metrics to report on project performance. Develops and maintains schedule metrics to communicate schedule status updates, planned action and deviations requiring development of recovery plans. Prepares reports for management.
• Process Analysis and Improvement Provides or leads teams in the analysis of business processes, resource requirements and work efficiency; develops processes, analyzes throughput and refines and streamlines processes; recommends improvements; translates processes into quantitative metrics/KPIs for measuring and reporting on project performance. Makes recommendations on systems and potential enhancements; manages and prioritizes improvements and enhancements; collaborates broadly with operations, IT and other stakeholders to define the evolving objectives and deliverables.
• Coordination and Communication Build relationships with key stakeholders and develops communication plans. Provides updates and coordinates tasks with stakeholders as needed. Designs communications specific to each audience. Provides technical guidance and expertise to stakeholders .

As Senior Accountant in our Asset Accounting group, you will play a critical role in supporting PGE’s strategic investment plans. You’ll be responsible for accounting transactions and ensuring the integrity of internal controls and accounting records for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), company policies and regulatory accounting. In this role you’ll perform accounting activities that include preparation, maintenance and reconciliation of ledger accounts and financial statements, such as balance sheets and profit and loss statements that support our SEC and FERC filings.
