Recovery Claims Collection Processor

Summary

The Recovery Claims department seeks reimbursement from members of the public who damage PGE's equipment, such as a car hitting a PGE pole or dig-in damage by a contractor. We investigate claims that occur within the distribution system and ensure cost recovery and/or mitigation.

Responsibilities
• Typically specializes in processing or collections but may perform work in both areas.
• Calculates claim amounts including complex claims. Ensures charges are correct.
• Tracks claim payments and identifies/resolves issues.
• Makes collections calls, assigning accounts to outside collections firm as needed.
• Determines resolution of old claims.
• Prepares itemizations, corrects work orders and prepares new ones as needed.
• Performs research and investigation using multiple platforms.
• Develops and maintain reports.
• Collaborate with the Legal Department and many other partners throughout organization on claims.

Qualifications

Education Required:
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Experience Required:
• Five or more years working in customer support, customer service or other customer-facing role, preferably in a utility or insurance claims setting or equivalent

Summary

The Generation, Transmission and Distribution Project Management Organization (GTD-PMO) encompasses multiple disciplines: Construction Management, Project Controls, Project Services, Program Management and Project Management.

As a Project Controls Analyst, you will support generation, transmission and distribution capital projects by monitoring and controlling costs and scope, developing, maintaining and analyzing project schedules, and supporting the project authorization process. This position requires in-depth knowledge and experience, uses best practices and knowledge of internal or external business issues to improve products or services, solves complex problems; takes a new perspective using existing solutions and works independently, receives minimal guidance.
• This position can be filled as a Project Controls Analyst, P2 or a Sr. Project Controls Analyst, P3. See determining qualifications below.

Responsibilities
• Project Controls Designs and implements project controls to help ensure scheduling, cost control, regulatory, reporting and other project requirements are met. Identifies risks and recommends remediation.
• Project Cost Control Management Develops, monitors, and updates project cash flows on a monthly basis, monitors against corporate budget governance and identifies any scope creep. Ensures costs are accurately reflected in PGEs financial statements, future financing needs for the company are accurately portrayed, and accurate annual cash flow forecasts are provided to Portfolio Management for annual budgeting needs.
• Project Scheduling Develops project schedules with the appropriate level of detail and scope to maximize efficiency, effectiveness and to meet the needs for timely and accurate project development and execution; coordinates and integrates schedules from other organizations supporting the project; works with project workgroups to resolve important and critical material and schedule issues or concerns. Develops and maintains milestone schedules.
• Monitoring Monitors project during all phases to identify real or potential deviations to project plans; identifies scoping changes, analyzes impacts and adjusts project plans accordingly. Communicates variances and works with project/program team to obtain appropriate level change approval as required.
• Project Reporting and Documentation Works with project/program team to ensure coordination of efforts to issue timely, accurate project reports on project schedules, costs, problems, risks and other significant issues; develops and provides information, reports and presentations to key stakeholders and other company entities.
• Metrics Develops project metrics or operational performance metrics to report on project performance. Develops and maintains schedule metrics to communicate schedule status updates, planned action and deviations requiring development of recovery plans. Prepares reports for management.
• Process Analysis and Improvement Provides or leads teams in the analysis of business processes, resource requirements and work efficiency; develops processes, analyzes throughput and refines and streamlines processes; recommends improvements; translates processes into quantitative metrics/KPIs for measuring and reporting on project performance. Makes recommendations on systems and potential enhancements; manages and prioritizes improvements and enhancements; collaborates broadly with operations, IT and other stakeholders to define the evolving objectives and deliverables.
• Coordination and Communication Build relationships with key stakeholders and develops communication plans. Provides updates and coordinates tasks with stakeholders as needed. Designs communications specific to each audience. Provides technical guidance and expertise to stakeholders .

As Senior Accountant in our Asset Accounting group, you will play a critical role in supporting PGE’s strategic investment plans. You’ll be responsible for accounting transactions and ensuring the integrity of internal controls and accounting records for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), company policies and regulatory accounting. In this role you’ll perform accounting activities that include preparation, maintenance and reconciliation of ledger accounts and financial statements, such as balance sheets and profit and loss statements that support our SEC and FERC filings. Summary

The Generation, Transmission and Distribution Project Management Organization (GTD-PMO) encompasses multiple disciplines: Construction Management, Project Controls, Project Services, Program Management and Project Management.

Project Management, Construction at PGE is the process of managing various types of construction project from new construction to major capital upgrades through the engineering procurement, construction, and commissioning phases of the project. It requires working with large teams of subject matter experts and coordinating their activities through schedules, forecasts, meetings, and reports.

In this role, you will manage various large scale, utility projects starting and must have experience with complex budget and schedule development, RFP and bid processes, and contractor management. If you have managed communication network upgrades and understand DERs and grid modernization construction projects involving connections to substations and other critical locations spread across our territory – we hope to speak with you.

Key Responsibilities
• Leads large-scale generation and/or transmission and distribution (T&D) capital construction projects. Has responsibility for all aspects of a project, including development, permitting, engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and closeout. PM is accountable for meeting a project’s goals for safety, budget, schedule, scope, resources, compliance, and quality and ensuring projects deliver quality and value to the customer while meeting environmental, cultural and community requirements.
• Develops strategic plans when applicable; assesses and evaluates technologies and potential sites for construction projects; develops estimates for capital costs, operating and maintenance costs for projects. Prepares project proposals for RFPs.
• Develops overall project plan, including schedule and cost baselines, dependencies, roles and resource requirements and risk mitigation. Has responsibility for all aspects of a project, including development, permitting, engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning and closeout. Works with Project Controls to develop and maintain project schedule and forecast.
• Communicates project updates via regular stakeholder meetings, formal reports, formal presentations, and regular electronic communications; ensures updates achieve effective corporate awareness. Accurately reports on project status, schedules, financials, problems, risks, and other significant issues. Resolves customer issues as applicable.
• Leads a multidisciplined matrix team in a safe, cost-effective, and responsible manner. Provides leadership to team members; ensures effective coordination and collaboration among team members and between PGE stakeholder organizations, outside consultants and vendors. Facilitates team meetings; cultivates and reinforces group values, norms, and behaviors; provides guidance and motivation to team on performance and productivity issues; ensures compliance with established project management methodologies and standards; takes corrective action as needed.
• Leads internal process improvement projects that improve efficiency of the business.

• Experience: Eight or more years of experience in project management, construction management or engineering, including design, operation or maintenance of electrical facilities. Experience in utility environment with communications projects preferred.
• Certification: PMP certification preferred.

• Education: Requires a bachelor’s degree in engineering, business or a related field or equivalent experience.

PGE is seeking a highly motivated Mechanical Discipline Manager to manage the engineering and technical efforts of a diverse team of mechanical engineers and gas pipeline and material specialists, reporting directly to the Director of Power Supply Engineering Services. This role will manage discipline design and project execution to assure technical adequacy in accordance with industry standards. The Mechanical Discipline Manager will manage the prioritization of resources to support capital projects, compliance obligations, and emergent plant maintenance requests. In addition, the manager will oversee 3 major compliance programs for Welding Quality, Covered Piping, and PGE’s only Gas Pipeline, ensuring that all compliance obligations are met annually.

Responsibilities
• Manages a diverse team of mechanical design professionals in one or more of plant design and metallurgical engineering, welding, non-destructive examination (NDE), and gas pipeline integrity.
• Engineering sub-functions are responsible for designing, developing, modifying and evaluating the design and implementation of cost-effective mechanically and structurally sound products and solutions to support reliable and safety-compliant power plant equipment and systems. The metallurgical engineer completes failure analyses and leads PGE’s cathodic protection and coating programs for corrosion protection and all activities required to maintain compliance with the company’s Covered Piping Program per ASME B31.1.
• Welding and NDE sub-functions manage the activities contained in the company’s welding repair and replacement program and inspection procedures and provides oversight to all plant construction, modifications, fabrications and repairs performed internally or by vendors to ensure compliance with applicable code, standards and job-specific requirements.
• Gas Pipeline sub-function develops the overall strategy for PGE’s only gas pipeline, establishing the overall program objectives and maintenance schedules to minimize risk. This individual works with contractors, other departments, outside entities, consultants, municipalities and government agencies and private property owners to oversee maintenance, expansions and other projects.
• Provides technical management for the team, ensuring that objectives are met, and all relevant standards/procedures are followed; ensures that operational problems are identified and resolved; ensures that operational procedures and working practices are current and fit for the purpose.
• Monitors and manages expenditures, ensuring that all financial targets are met, and examines any areas where budgets/expenditures vary from plan; assists with the definition and operation of effective financial controls and decision making.
• Oversees resourcing decisions and planning for team, partners with HR in the definition of jobs, recruitment, evaluation and selection processes.
• Reviews organizational development needs and training strategies to determine required learning and development outcomes for the team; provides guidance in the creation of development plans; monitors ongoing progress and provides coaching and mentoring and provides feedback; completes annual performance management reviews.
• Resolves priority conflicts between project, compliance, and emergent requests that compete for resources.

Qualifications

Required:
• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, industrial, metallurgical or welding engineering from an ABET-accredited engineering program or program accredited by an equivalent agency.
• Eight or more years of experience in related field, such as power generation or industrial manufacturing. An M.S. in mechanical, industrial, metallurgical or welding will be considered for commensurate experience.

Preferred:
• Professional Engineering (PE) license.
• Experience with ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code Section 5 and or Section 9
• Experience with Piping Design and ASME Power Piping Code B31.1
• At least 3 years in a combined technical / people manager role with ongoing requirement for performance of project technical scope, in addition to other manager responsibilities.

Key Scope and Areas of Impact:

For Senior Internal Auditor
• Leads planning and fieldwork for audit and consultation engagements, gathering and analyzing information and data, performing complex research, efficiently and effectively documenting work in support of reporting, and coordinating and reviewing the work of others.
• Drafts clear, concise, and progressive audit and consultation reports, making risk reduction and/or process improvement recommendations that align with PGE s corporate strategies.

For Internal Auditor
• Supports audit and consulting engagements by performing prescribed tasks, including developing process flows, workpaper documentation, data review and organization, and reviews of reports, presentations and other documentation.
• Performs control testing according to fieldwork procedures, including completing workpaper documentation, identifying exceptions, and communicating results to team members.

For Both Levels
• Supports our clients by providing regular updates on risk mitigation activities and reporting as well as communicating conclusions to clients, including difficult and complex outcomes when necessary.
• Designs effective and efficient control test plans and performs control testing to enable management to assess the operating effectiveness of key controls. Good project management skills to monitor their own progress and ensure timely remediation of deficiencies.
• Proactively engages with management on tracking and resolving remediations and other solutions to resolve previously identified risks through completed audit engagements.
• Performs a variety of individual and department administrative tasks and implements process improvement initiatives.
• Experience with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) financial controls, including SOX audit planning, walkthroughs, testing, and control validations is preferred.
• Knowledge and understanding of the Institute of Internal Auditor s IPPF framework for developing, conducting and reporting on audit engagements and consultations is preferred.

What you will bring to this role:
• For both the Internal Auditor and Senior Internal Auditor roles, a Bachelor s degree in finance, computer science, liberal arts or other related field or equivalent experience is required.
• For a Senior Internal Auditor, five or more years in business, internal auditing, public accounting or related functions. For an Internal Auditor, at least three years similar experience.
• Professional licenses/certifications preferred and may be required within one year of obtaining position (CPA, CIA, CRMA, CFE, etc.).
• Experience conducting audit engagements from planning, to fieldwork through reporting along with a basic understanding and application of project management techniques.
• Skilled at interacting with a variety of technical and non-technical functions and negotiating and resolving differences around simple to complex and sometimes challenging risks.
• A willingness to research and understand emerging regulatory topics that are complex or difficult to understand and incorporate them into audit processes
• Proficient use of Microsoft programs.

Environment - Indoor/Outdoor
• PGE supports hybrid flexible work arrangements; and will have a combination of at least 2 days in the office and the rest of the time working offsite. Currently, this role will require you to commute into the office, plants as well as out in the field. A valid driver's license and a history of safe driving practices will be required for this role.

This position will serve as a lawyer reporting to the managing assistant general counsel in the regulatory group practice group. You will be working with business partners throughout the company to further key business strategies and projects before regulatory agencies, including the Oregon Public Utility Commission and the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC).
