Pipedream is a platform for connecting apps and APIs with automated workflows that process custom events and data. Imagine having the ability to tailor existing off-the-shelf no-code integrations to your specific needs without dealing with the boilerplate code and infrastructure necessary to build and maintain your own solution. With our product that dream is becoming a reality, but we still have... our work cut out for us. Our goal is to build a platform that 10x's the productivity of product and development teams by eliminating busywork and maximizing efficiency. As a full-stack engineer at Pipedream, you will join our experienced team in achieving that goal.
Pipedream is built on a diverse set of technologies (Go, Node.js, Rails, Kotlin, SQL, Redis, and Kubernetes to name a few). We’re looking for engineers who relish the opportunity to pick up and learn new tech, have experience building large-scale systems, and are skilled at using data to solve complex problems. If that sounds like you, let us know!
Examples of the types of projects you will work on:
• Make Pipedream easier to use by building new ways for users to interface with us (e.g. GitHub and IDE integrations).
• Build new capabilities to expand our audience (e.g. new programming languages and control flow constructs).
• Unlock additional features requested by enterprise customers (e.g. RBAC, on-prem connectivity, custom data retention controls).
Your growth at Pipedream
• 1st week: You’ve familiarized yourself with the development environment and committed your first production code change.
• 1st month: You’ve successfully delivered product features that require frontend and backend development.
• 3rd month: You are the expert engineer behind a significant feature and have delivered the first iteration of that feature to users. You understand how this feature improves Pipedream for users and use data and experience to inform further development on this and other features.
Minimum requirements
• 2+ years experience developing REST/GraphQL APIs with a common web application framework (e.g. Rails, NodeJs/Express).
• Some experience working with relational databases (e.g. MySQL, PostgreSQL).
• Familiarity with JavaScript, ideally using a common framework (e.g. Vue, React, Angular, Ember).
• Experience with techniques for scaling high traffic web applications.
• Passion for learning.
• Intellectual curiosity.
Bonus points
• Experience with JVM languages (e.g. Java, Kotlin)
• Experience building distributed applications on cloud platforms (e.g. AWS, GCP, Azure)
Pipedream is committed to building a diverse, inclusive, family-friendly team and an effective remote development practice. Online collaboration and engagement with the rest of the Pipedream team are important to your success.
• You can work from any location within North America, but must be able to collaborate online with the rest of the team on a regular basis.
• You will not just build features to order, but will influence the design and development of the Pipedream platform over time.
• You will be working directly with a small team that has prior experience working together to build successful startups.
• Your benefits will include medical, dental and vision insurance, top-of-the-line equipment and unlimited paid vacation Show more details...

Our goal is to make delivery so fast & effortless that almost anything you need can to be delivered in single digit minutes or less. To do this, we need to bring in the best talent in the world and provide them the tools & support they’ll need to do the best work of their careers... While we have extremely high hiring standards, a candidate’s past projects, drive, and humility supersedes their degree(s) & experience. Some of our first hires were previous founders who sold their respective companies, and some of them were/are still in college.
Overview:
In this role you’ll be working directly on the robot or other physical system components. We're looking for talented hardware designers who are comfortable taking ownership of a project and having large responsibilities. We're an early stage startup developing an ambitious hardware product, so naturally there's quite a bit of mechanical work to be done. This does not mean we want someone who can come and work 80 hour work weeks — quite the opposite really. We want high-level performers who think creatively, are intentional about where they spend their effort, and know how to maintain a healthy work-life balance.
Benefits:
At Pipedream we ask a lot of our employees, which is why we are willing to curate a work environment that respects your work-life balance needs and ultimately takes care of you on all ends. In addition to your competitive salary & medical/dental/vision/lifestyle plan, we’ll flood you with perks, including:
• Schedule flexibility: you choose your hours, WFH as-needed
• 4 weeks of PTO (mandatory), plus holidays
• Stock Option Plan
• Family Leave (maternity & paternity)
• Our office is dog-friendly, located 10-mins away from Downtown Austin
• additionally, a co-working office space in Downtown Austin
Requirements:
• Experience with robotics, control systems, and/or mechatronics
• Deep experience with any CAD platform (Onshape preferred but not required)
• Deep understanding of multiple manufacturing methods and how to design for them
• Most of our products are made from sheet metal
• A solid understanding of core concepts, including: mechanics, kinematics, thermodynamics, materials science, etc
• Experience with linear or rotary motion systems
• Experience with FEA
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a team environment
Responsibilities:
• Performing a full lifecycle product development (design, develop, test prototypes, manufacture & implement)
• Designing parts, sub-systems, or entire products (depending on scope/size of product)
• Utilizing multiple engineering disciplines throughout the design process
• Collaborating ideas for ways to improve the product, and executing them
• Testing & evaluating theoretical designs
• Working with contract manufacturers to produce components
• Working with vendors to source components
• Performing FEA analysis on designs Show more details...
