Division of Rheumatology
The Division of Rheumatology at the UPMC Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh and the Department of Pediatrics, University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine is recruiting a physician-scientist on the tenure track. The ideal candidate would be a rheumatologist with interest in developing a basic, translational, or clinical research program focused on autoimmunity, rheumatologic conditions, or related immune-mediated diseases. It is expected that the candidate chosen will establish an independent, extramurally funded research program and actively participate in the educational and clinical missions of the School of Medicine.
The position includes a competitive salary, laboratory space, and generous start-up funding.
The Division of Rheumatology at Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh is a leading clinical and research enterprise in rheumatology and is among the most distinguished pediatric rheumatology units in the nation. The research mission within the Division is supported by state-of-the-art research infrastructure and comprehensive core facilities. The Department of Biological Sciences at the University of Pittsburgh invites applications for up to five full-time Visiting Lab Instructors, each on an 8-month basis, with an anticipated start date of 28 August 2023. The positions are outside of the tenure stream, subject to annual review, and entail teaching four sections each term... of physiology, microbiology, or introductory authentic research laboratory courses. Minimum qualifications are an MS degree in biology or a related field with some teaching experience; preferred qualifications are the publication of post-graduate research work or a Ph.D. in the biological sciences, the ability to also teach microbiology or physiology lab courses, formal training in teaching, experience as sole instructor of a laboratory course, and experience teaching an authentic-research laboratory course. Teaching evening sections may be needed. Lab Instructors must be able to participate in on-campus activities in person.
