You will be part of the strategy department, but work closely with both product and marketing. Platform.sh is a cloud provider that uses other IaaS providers to render its services. Part of what we do is to make developers more... productive; Another, very important aspect is that we can optimize the workloads. Our effects can be huge. Which is dear to us because we adamantly believe climate change is real, it is happening, and that the time to act was a couple of decades ago. We already have a measurable, audited, impact on the reduction of carbon emissions of our users but our ambitions are much greater. This is a core tenant of the company. And because we are a cloud provider at scale it means our impact can be considerable. Your role will be to align internal teams around environmental impact as a major theme and make sure it is front and center with immediate effects and that we are able to deploy meaningful actions in the short term. 5 years of experience Good knowledge of environmental impact - you understand what a grid mix is; Expertise preferred Fluent English & French communications - both oral and written - with at least some public speaking - you will be our public face on this topic Good grasp of current cloud technologies - you will be working with engineers Experience in product organizations The leadership to convince stakeholders and lead coordinated initiatives The discipline of science and the creativity of entrepreneurship to balance the contradictions of this mission What's in it for you:
The common pitfall of green initiatives is to stall at the diagnosis stage, which we have already broken through This opportunity is a great chance to actually take a shot at one of the fastest growing carbon emitting sector, have an actual impact and develop your public image Be part of a company that cares deeply about the environment and that has strong values (and actions) towards inclusivity Sound Like a Good Fit? We'd love to talk to you! We are a worldwide distributed team and are looking for a candidate who can perform well working remotely.
