Key Responsibilities:
• Lives Forbes Bro. value of WE WORK SAFE & never compromising on safety in all aspects of our every day
• Provide supervision and planning in the successful completion of utility projects. Oversee the method of construction, manpower, equipment, and material needed and quality control
• Perform audits of construction operations to ensure work is being completed in compliance with project specifications and monitor safe work practices
• Plan, direct and participate, when applicable, in day-to-day work activities to ensure that established goals and objectives are met
• Report on problems and the solutions to the Construction Manager
• Ensure builds are built to plan
• Enforce equipment maintenance schedule and advise when repairs are required
• Perform other related administrative or regional project-based duties as assigned
What We Are Looking For:
• Minimum of one (1) years' experience working directly with Transmission & Distribution
• DOL Journeyman Certificate required
• English proficiency with the ability to read, comprehend, and execute written work plans, blueprints and wiring schematics
• Willing to work in all weather conditions
• Willing to work flexible hours and travel for project as needed
• Subject to pre-access drug and alcohol testing and criminal record check as required by project

RESPONSIBILITIES Maintain and promote a strong safety culture for all employees, vendors, and customer and follow all safety policies, procedures and regulations. Identify and communicate workplace hazards and correct or seek assistance in correcting unsafe actions or conditions. Performs work in accordance with construction and installation plans, standards, inspection & test plans, safety and technical procedures, repair, and maintenance requirements on Transmission, Distribution, and Substation. Performs the installation, relocation, and/or removal of civil works, wires, communication cables, and other power facilities. Performs the assembly and installation of civil, structural, electrical, and communication equipment affiliated with power facilities.
Works in conjunction with other trades and contractors to ensure timely completion of work. Prepares records, forms, and work activity reports. Assists in the training of subordinate personnel in proper operational, safety and technical methods and procedures. Creates time and attendance records and submits same to foremen.
Inspects and confirms safe operation of tools, instruments, devices, and mobile equipment. Other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS Class 1 or 3 drivers license with air brake endorsement. Operators certificate of radial boom devices, mobile equipment and aerial man-lifts.
DESIRED SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS Work methods and procedures in the repair and installation of over overhead and underground electrical powerlines (Transmission, Distribution, and Substation). Repair and maintenance procedures applicable to PLT/electrical trade. Fundamental principles of electricity. Use of safety equipment and protective gear. Applicable test instruments, hand, and power tools. Applicable safety and code standards specific to the PLT/electrical trade. Familiar with the operation and maintenance of related equipment. High voltage training certification is preferred. Proficient with computer applications such as MS Office. Demonstrates strong critical thinking, active listening, communication, and organization skills. First Aid Certification, WHMIS, Confined Space Awareness. Flexible with travel up to 100% of the time. EDUCATION Currently indentured as a registered apprentice PLT. OR Successful completion of a registered Power Line Technician (PLT) apprenticeship training program and journeyperson status. (Interprovincial Red Seal is preferred); Additional training or post-secondary coursework in project management is an asset. LANGUAGES Must be able to communicate verbally and through written language (by hand and digitally) in English. This position requires a background in Power Transmission and distribution lines, along with providing conductor Solutions to customers' power line application problems. • Top-level contact for Business Development for requests for project analysis from their customers. Disseminate the requests among the Application Engineering staff and manage the workload to ensure timely response back to either Business Development personnel or directly to the customer that requested the analysis.
• Review Application Engineer’s work prior to sending back to the customer to ensure the best ACCC solution has been developed for a project or determine that there is not a good economic or technical solution that the ACCC product can solve, help the App Engineer ensure that the recommendations are communicated to BD or the customer in such a way that they understand the value the ACCC solution has for the project.
• Field customer technical questions on the capabilities and specifications of the ACCC Conductor.
• Develop tailored/optimal electrical line design solutions based on ACCC Conductor using proprietary and standard electrical industry tools and programs.
• Lead the technical engagement with customers, principally utility end-users and design engineers.
• Be a key resource to enable the deployment of ACCC technology through contributions to engineering manuals, technical whitepapers, and technical marketing publications by effectively training the industry and disseminating the best ways of leveraging ACCC technologies.
