DESIRED SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS Work methods and procedures in the repair and installation of over overhead and underground electrical powerlines (Transmission, Distribution, and Substation). Repair and maintenance procedures applicable to PLT/electrical trade. Fundamental principles of electricity. Use of safety equipment and protective gear. Applicable test instruments, hand, and power tools. Applicable safety and code standards specific to the PLT/electrical trade. Familiar with the operation and maintenance of related equipment. High voltage training certification is preferred. Proficient with computer applications such as MS Office. Demonstrates strong critical thinking, active listening, communication, and organization skills. First Aid Certification, WHMIS, Confined Space Awareness. Flexible with travel up to 100% of the time. EDUCATION Currently indentured as a registered apprentice PLT. OR Successful completion of a registered Power Line Technician (PLT) apprenticeship training program and journeyperson status.
